NEW PaperArtsy Products: Jo Firth-Young {Sept 2023}

A note from Leandra:
I always feel ready for the Christmas preparation to commence once we release JoFY Christmas stamps. Every year she creates something totally fabulous that tickles my fancy. This year I made a request that the stamps will work for those who have a warm Christmas as well as those in the colder climes! When you know you know!

A wreath can be either baubles or berries, there are fabulous collages that make those cards for your special people easy to produce in bulk if necessary. Perhaps a bit of layering, or a splash of colour, and you have a gorgeous card ready in no time at all.

If tags and wrapping paper is your thing we have that covered too, and keep your eye on the current blog topic ...'tags' which might get you started on your Christmas gift-giving game early!

These stamps are available EXCLUSIVELY from our approved stockists. Please check the list at the foot of this post to find a retailer online or geographically near you, it makes sense to order within your country wherever possible.

Hi everyone, Jo (www.jofy.co.uk) here  to share with you my Christmas release for 2023. Oh my goodness I enjoyed designing these stamps so much - and, as Leandra mentioned in her opening comments, they are a little different this year.

It was interesting to design stamps that would work for hot or cold climates - the main change was limiting references to snow and cold. Though there is a snowflake/star background panel - I designed a new one as they are so useful.

Each year I like to design a Christmas tree and a snowman but not this year. Nope, not a single one! They have made room for other festive lovelies. There is an adorable Santa/Gnome that makes me smile every time I look at him - he is sooooo cute. (I'm not ashamed to say I may have dipped my toe into the 'cute' pool when I designed that little chap. If it doesn't make you smile then I'm adding your name to the list of 'bah humbug's. lol)

In place of a Christmas tree there are 'Festive Fungi'!  Mushrooms are popular Christmas tree decorations (I have more than one or two on my trees!) and it was fun to give them a festive feel (& break out the glitter!!). I designed my fungi as part of a collage but they work just as well on their own as you'll see later on.

These sets of stamps was designed primarily with card making in mind - but don't worry with a few tweaks here and there you'll be able to create something larger.

I'm bursting with Christmas spirit and can't wait to show you this release for PaperArtsy. 4 fabulously festive stamps sets and coordinating stencils.

Price: RRP €23.00 +VAT Size:5" x 6" (13 x16.5cm)
All stamps are individually trimmed onto cling foam, with a laminated storage/index sheet.

JOFY Collection Stamp Set 128 (JOFY128)

I feel this is the most obviously 'Christmassy' stamp set of this release. The little red suited chap, and the big bold Noel and the garland are typically (with a twist) festive. There's a useful sentiment tag - with a star rather than a snowflake, and a small background cluster which will look great as a border or background (with spaces for bling - obviously!)

 HO HO HO!

Is it Father Christmas? Is it a gnome? I'm not sure, but I do know that this is a very cute addition to my group of Christmas characters! He's going to look adorable on cards, tags or journal pages...

DECK THE HALLS! (No.1)

The garland stamp is designed to 'hang' across a card (eg a standard 10x20cm card) as shown on the index sheet. On this sample I wanted to show that it can be stamped across a corner or a card allowing for a sentiment to be stamped in the opposite corner.

SWAG TAG

I do like to make a tag to dress up a parcel.  This tag features the garland with the flowers in place - if you were to place the flowers over the holly leaves you could use this swag on a birthday, or celebration card (nice for a winter wedding!).

JoFY Collection Stamp Set 129 (JOFY129)

 PUCKER UP!!

The mistletoe design looks great on a smaller card just by itself (as shown on a sample later on) but I really like how it looks against a background of festive themed papers, and the light-hearted sentiment is a fun addition to a card for that special person in your life.

JOYFUL CHRISTMAS

A snowflake background stamp is a useful addition to your festive card making - I especially like the big star/snowflake here. The stamp is designed to fit into a corner (as shown on the card above), I think it would look great stamped on all four corners of a journal page.

MISTLETOE

This is a lovely clean and simple card design - subtle shading creates the illusion of the leaves being dimensional.

JoFY Collection Stamp Set 130 (JoFY130)

 FABULOUSLY FESTIVE FUNGI!

The mushrooms on this stamp set are too cute to just use at Christmas - I may have to think of ways to use them throughout the year! On this sample I used a traditional colour scheme, quite rustic and I love how it looks - with the stars on the mushrooms painted in Gold Fresco Finish paint for a bit of Christmas bling.

I created a lovely little tag cluster with the 'festive fungi' label, a snowflake and the dinky little mushroom from the group. The mushrooms are easy to isolate and use on their own.

SNOW FLURRY

In the summer I designed a stamp of 'washi tape' with a bug theme... As soon as I'd designed that I knew I wanted to design a winter/christmas themed version. I've used it here on a card and embellished it with wood snowflakes and touches of bling.

I'm imagining this stamped onto brown paper tape wrapped around presents! Oh yes!

FROSTY FESTIVE FUNGI

A less traditional colour scheme for these mushrooms... I'd always imagined them topped with frosty glitter (well it is Christmas, and I've said before: at Christmas there should glitter, sparkles and bling!)

Here is another way of attaching the label to a card.

DECK THE HALLS (No. 2)

Baubles are a really versatile motif - they can be coloured with paints, pens, pencils. You can paper piece them with patterned papers, 3d mount them to create dimension... so many options...

JoFY Collection Stamp Set 131 (JoFY131)

 ONE WREATH 3 WAYS

I worked hard on making this wreath as versatile as possible.  The photo above shows, side by side, 3 subtle ways the wreath can be altered to give a different look.

The photo above shows the bauble wreath - I drew simple rectangles with a loop on some of the balls to make them look like tree-baubles.

This wreath features 'summertime' berries - for those of you in the Southern hemisphere who are lucky enough to have warm Christmasses. There is a tiny 'spiky' stamp on JOFY131 (also on JOFY128) - stamp this onto the balls to turn them into berries, or hand draw the  spiky shape on yourself.

The colour scheme of laurel/eucalyptus leaves, bright red mini fruits and tiny pearl berries is a favourite of mine - creating a lovely version of a traditional Christmas wreath.

BEFORE WINTER COMES AUTUMN

The wreath is too nice to save for Christmas! (in my humble opinion). I created this wreath with patterned papers and autumnal coloured leaves to show how it can be used at other times of the year. You could also use it as a summer wreath by snipping off the holly leaves and adding the flower from JOFY128.

NOEL

Stamp the word block several times on a panel, add a statement die cut word and embellish with the single berry motif - a great clean and simple card. Die cut the word in a gold/silver card stock for extra impact /bling!

PaperArtsy Stencil by Jo Firth-Young {Regular size} 410 (PS410)

I created this stencil with 4 smaller designs to use in cards and on smaller journal pages. I can see I'll be using this A LOT!

PaperArtsy Stencil by Jo Firth-Young {Regular size} 411 (PS411)

This stencil was designed as snowflake, but looking at the sample above I can see how the centre could be used for flowers too.

PaperArtsy Stencil by Jo Firth-Young {Regular Size} 412 (PS412)

I refer to this stencil as the starburst. It has a celebratory feel to it. The solid star at the centre is also included in the stencil so there is a mask element to design.

PaperArtsy Stencil by Jo Firth-Young {Regular Size} 413 (PS413)

I designed this stencil thinking that I would cut it up into four stencils to make the different sizes of circles easier to use, but having used it I discovered I liked using them all together - the background builds up so nicely (and quickly!). Maybe I should have 2 - one complete and one cut up!

---

Phew, that is a lot of christmas loveliness!  I hope you like these new stamps as much as I do, I want to keep making cards and projects with them!
