GD: Clare Lloyd Project #2 Art Journal Page

"Hi everyone, Clare here and I am back with an art journal page. I decided to do some drawing for tonight's project so let's begin".

I gessoed the 4" x 4" greyboard and chose three colours to create stripy background. I used a wide flat brush so I could work with all three colours on the brush at the same time. I used Yellow Submarine, London Bus and Tango.

Then came some stamping using my new stamps ECL01 and I used Black Archival Ink.

Time to start my drawing and painting on to Smoothy Heavy weight card. I sketched using a Pigma Fineliner pen and then I started adding colour using Vintage Lace, Caramel and Chocolate Pudding. For more detail on how to do this take a look at some posts and tutorials I did on faces early in the year.

I did add a touch of simple pencil crayon onto my girl's face to add extra dimension. The hair was painted with Haystack and Caramel. Now for some embellishment and I decided to give shrink plastic a go.

The flowers and her brooch were simply stamped onto transparent shrink plastic and then to add the colour I painted the back of the image with coordinating Fresco paints. Once dry,  I cut them out and used my heat gun to shrink them down.

Here is my finished page again I chose this quote from ELB05 which seemed to complement my page and the art work.

I will be back tomorrow night with another festive make.I hope you give tonights project a go.

~Clare~

Huge thanks from all the PA team Clare. It is lovely seeing how your drawings come to life and with the use of bold colours for the background, this little beauty certainly makes an impact, perfect choice of quote to use also.

We would love you to join in with our monthly challenge. If you are inspired by any of this month's guests who have blogged between Oct 1st 2014 and Oct 31st 2014 then join in and link up your creativity HERE.
