2018 #15: Artist Trading Coins with EKD {by Claire Snowdon}

2018 Topic 15: Artist Trading Coins

This topic is so much fun! Claire uses these mini circular substrates with all the usual suspects: Grunge Past, Stamps, Infusions and paints, and what a lovely end result! Slightly grungy, pops of colour! Ticks all the boxes for me! ~ Leandra

Hi everyone, it's Claire Snowdon with you today, and I'd like to share with you my Artist Trading Coins created using some Kim Dellow stamps and stencils.

These coins are so cute and fun to create - I love the size!  I started by cutting my coins from Paperartsy Smoothy Heavyweight card and then adding Grunge Paste through an Emma Godfrey stencil (PS015) to create texture.

I blended the Fresco paints onto all the coins -  I used Sargasso, SmurfHaystack and Chalk.

The coins were looking a little bit 'clean' for me so I brought out the infusions - always perfect for adding a touch of grungy/vintage vibe!  I chose to use Golden Sands and Green Man to fit in with the paint colours I had used.  Then to add more texture I also stamped the circles from stamp set EKD01 and added a few little scraps of washi tape.

To finish my coins I stamped the images of the birds, hedgehog and the 'flowers' from stamp sets EKD01 and EKD02 onto card and coloured with pencils before fussy cutting.

I added some pieces of cotton thread and a quote to each coin before backing onto black card.

These little coins and so quick to make.  An endless combination of stamps, stencils and colours can be used and there are many swap groups out there to share them with.

See you next time,
Claire
