2015 Theme 1: Fragile Papers
Hi everyone Clare here, joining you this evening with a colourful journal tag post! My technique is super simple and should add a nice shot of colour to these dreary January days. You will also get a peak of my new stamps launching very soon.
Step One:
I started with a layer of Snowflake paint onto my size 10 manilla tag as I wanted to keep the colours vibrant and then simply glued pieces of coloured tissue onto the background using matt multi medium.
Step Two:
Then I covered the whole tag is a layer of gesso and used a Crafters Workshop stencil to wipe back design.
Step Three:
I then decided to get messy and used my finger to paint on some colour using London Bus, Inky Pool, Orchid and Limelight Fresco paints.
Step Four:
Added some background stamping using archival black ink and EEV02.
Step Five:
Finally I stamped up one of my new girlie face stamps onto smoothy card, coloured her in with pencil crayon and added to my journal tag along with a matching quote.
This is one of 4 new plates I have with PaperArtsy. They will all be officially released at the start of February, and available from stamps shops at that time too!
Super simple idea but pleased with how the vibrant background worked out. One word of warning put a good layer of multi medium on to glue down the coloured tissue paper, as I missed a couple of spots and that lifted up when I painted on the gesso/wiped it back. It was lovely to ink up one of my new stamps and which fingers crossed you all will like!
Ohhh Clare, we are loving the sneaky peek of one of your new stamp sets! What a fun background idea, those stamps of Ellen's look great in the mix too! Perfect way to brighten up these dreary January days!
We would love you to join in with challenge #1: Fragile Papers. If you are inspired by any of our guests who have blogged on this topic over this fortnight, then please join in and link up your creativity HERE.
