Challenged by ...{Carol Quance} & Winners

1. And the winners are...
So, the lovely and very kind France Papillon has now shared with us her final posts for her semester last week. I'm going to miss her. Personally, I have really enjoyed France's posts. Her style is hard to categorise. I think of it as tidy grunge! LOL I'm sure she gets in a mess like the rest of us (well me anyway, even if you won't admit it), but the projects are kind of stripped back and minimalist, and it has been a real eye opener as to how much distressing detail she puts in, until she breaks it down in the step outs, you don't really appreciate it on the face of it to begin with. Her waxy ideas this week really caught everyone's interest on the weekly challenge! Thanks France, for sharing in such detail how you achieve your ideas.

I know France has faced some difficult times and her emotional strength has been tested in parallel with the physical, as she tries to recover from a serious accident. Despite this personal battle to get well, her ability to feed all of us with beautiful, well prepared and inspirational projects, when she has been working so hard to return to 100% health has been very humbling. I can't thank you enough France. Truly, I wish nothing more for you than continued improvement in your health. You have been fantastic this semester!

We have 3 draws tonight...

Random winner #1 from the First Challenge draw (every single entry linked, including multiple entries) is: Kezzy

2. The week ahead...
Coming up in the week ahead we welcome back Carol Quance. I think of Carol as proper old School Stamping. She has been involved in the UK crafting scene for ...well....forever...!! Yeah she doesn't look that ancient does she ?? !! LOL Carol has a canny way of revisiting many of the brilliant techniques we used to do back in day. And there are zillions of them that we have generally forgotten about. So thanks Carol, it's fantastic to have someone with the depth of experience that you have brought to the mix this semester.
Here's a reminder of some of the finer details Carol has shown us.

...well for some, beading proved to be more of a torture than a joy....

But the Japanese koi girl stamps is a beauty in this colour scheme!

nothing like a bit of transparency in your crafting!

And this perfect Lynne Perrella image in the crackle frame hit the spot!

3. Challenged by....{Carol Quance}
I do hope that you will find time to test out your interpretation of Carol's ideas this week, and this is the place where you can share your creativity with us all, and enter the weekly challenge. By uploading a link to your art below, from your blog, or Flickr account, or Pinterest page and so forth, you will go in the draw this time next week to win some PA goodies! Just make sure you entry is linked by noon GMT Sunday August 25th.

As you know, the winners will be announced this time next week!

Well done to all the winners from last week, and I am really looking forward to Carol's week - though not sure I'll be able to match the number of entries... I think it may have been me you were referring to with the bead/torture thing, lol!!

Wow thank you *does a little jig and song in garden*. France I wish you a speedy and full recovery. I was looking through my old craft stamper mags and found Carol as a designer, her work is still as amazing as ever. Can't believe that soon the 2nd semester will be done. It's so scary, I keep thinking, hoping and keeping a lot of my body crossed that this will continue next year, but I know this year is special and possibly could be a one off. Congrats to all the other winners. Happy Crafting :-) Kezzy xxx

Phew, trust me to have dinner ready just as the post went live, lol! Whoohoo! I'm so chuffed to have been one of the fishkie (Lin's name for them ;D) stamp winners.

I didn't know France has had to contend with such difficulties either and like many others I have thoroughly enjoyed all her projects and wonderful step by steps. Thank you so much France for the superhuman effort you have put in to share such fab work with us.

I've long been a fan of Carol's so I'm looking forward to seeing her projects this week and I'd like to think I can get a shift on a join in again ;-).

Congratulations to all the other winners too!

Hugs
Lesley Xx

Congrets to the winners!! And thank you, all of you for your sweet words and your support. I don't think you have any idea how much it all means to me :)
I'm on the mend, even if i still have a long way to go. But i'm getting there, slowly but surely ;)

A special thank you to Leandra, your words really touch me. Not only that, but you are the one who finally gave my style a name: tidy grunge! absolutely love it (you'll see that in all my bios now!)
