A note from Leandra:

We love the designs that Seth brings to life within his abstract vibe of creativity. This release there are a few more stamps on the plate than usual for your enjoyment! We think you will like the mix of structural, bold, words and geometric within this release.

Seth will be along to share with you LIVE his new products and ideas over in our Facebook Group, 'PaperArtsy People' shortly after this post publishes, and ...

These stamps are available EXCLUSIVELY from our approved stockists. Please check the list at the foot of this post to find a retailer online or geographically near you, it makes sense to order within your country where possible. Our retailers also endeavour to join the designer's live to share their direct shopping links - this makes it super easy for you to find a store with product in stock immediately.

Hi everyone, Seth Apter here — I'm so happy to be sharing my newest PaperArtsy release with you. Hard to believe but with these 3 new A5 sets, I have designed over well over 250 stamps with PaperArtsy. Yowza! It has been a thrill to see how you have used these stamps in your own work and I am already excited to see what you create with these new ones.

The designs in this collection revolve around the all the attributes that you probably think of when you think of my stamps: abstract design, textural details, grungy and distressed elements, words and phrases, circles, and mark makers. My intent is to always provide you with designs that can easily be made your own, work in a variety of ways, and be used to add layers and details in your background and/or abstract focal imagery in the foreground. They all integrate very well with my prior releases too.

So enough intro...let's have a look!

Price: RRP €23.00 +VAT    Size:5" x 6" (13 x16.5cm)
All stamps are individually trimmed onto cling foam with a laminated storage/index sheet.

Eclectica³ Seth Apter Set 34 (ESA34)

Doorway to Creativity

This first piece uses 4 of the 8 stamps in the set. Both the overlapping circles stamp and the text stamp (itself containing 17 words) act as focal points for the art.

Along with the painted surface, made with PaperArtsy Fresco Finish Acrylics, textural details are created with the stamps that also act as borders for the artwork.

The text stamp is used here in its entirety but you can cut it up (!) or mask parts off so that you can also use only particular words from the stamp in other pieces you create.

Reach the Stars

All 3 stamp sets include frames that can be used in many different ways and set ESA34 has two frame stamps, one of which was used in this piece.

The frame here is three-sided but I chose to anchor it to the base on the piece to close it off and filled it with words, looking as though the letters are hanging off strings wound around the sides of the frames.

And as can be seen below, I also used several of the same stamps that were used in Doorway to Creativity above - but in different ways. The 17-word text stamp is is used here to add detail to the background rather than as a focal point.

Storyteller

In this piece, 5 of the 8 stamps in set ESA34 were used - some to create borders/frames, some for background detail and texture, and some for stronger focal details.

I chose to use only a portion of the square frame from this set to create some interesting border details on the edges. A good example of a creative way to make this stamp your own.

Parts of 3 textural background stamps were used together to create a detailed edge that rounds the corners on the other side of this piece. The story teller stamp here is from an earlier set ESA 28.

Eclectica³ Seth Apter Set 35 (ESA35)

Once Upon a Time

There are 10 individual stamps in set ESA35 giving you more creative bang for your buck. This piece uses 5 of them.

The focal point here is the circle filled with the words once upon a time in a land far far away -- the perfect sentiment to use to start a journal page.

Portions of 4 other stamps can be seen in the image below, where the scratchy line stamps and one of the many circle stamps add supporting detail, marks, dimension, and framing, while at the same time, adding to the abstract story.

You Never Know

The eggs are the front and center of this piece but in my mind, the circles that cover the entire background are the true stars of the show.

They echo the shape and the color of the eggs but also add depth to the piece, making it feel more dimensional.

One of the scratchy line stamps from the set was partially used to create a frame around 3 edges of the artwork.

Imagine

The circle theme from this set continues in the next piece of art as well.

Enabling you to mix and match, this piece shows one of the two circle stamps with words nested inside the circle frame stamp, which was sized so that you had the ability to make many designs from these 3 stamps used together.

One of the scratchy line stamps, the degraded word stamp, and several of the circle stamps were also added in a variety of ways to elevate the mixed-media feeling in this piece.

This moment

This piece shows that there are linear components - and not just circles - in set ESA35.

The scratchy lines from the set are used as starting points to add my own handmade marks, extending the lines from edge to edge and serving as the background for the words.

The splatter circle is a small but mighty stamp and adds a little curve to the linearity.

Kind of Beautiful

The highlight of this piece is the circle frame stamp, which literally takes center stage. In this case, it not filled with one of the other circle stamps but rather a sentiment and some stray marks - along with the beautiful colors in the background.

The space between the concentric circles is just asking to be filled in with contrasting colors (as seen here), journal text, or handmade marks.

One of the stamps in this set combines both circles and lines to offer a beautiful design that serves as an anchor to the main circle stamp and as a border to the piece as the same time.

Eclectica³ Seth Apter Set 36 (ESA36)

Lost in Translation

The text stamp in set ESA36 reads LOST AND FOUND, which somehow in my mind seemed to fit the theme of mail art. As such, a postcard was born.

This artwork also includes a second text stamp, although it is buried in the layers to become part of the background. And close examination shows that the words here are actually made up of random letters.

LOST AND FOUND is surrounded by lots of scratchy marks and splatter elements, enabling it to integrate really well into mixed media backgrounds.

Framed

Two linear frame stamps are included in set ESA36 and both were used in this artwork - but in very different ways.

The smaller square frame was used as is and repeated 3 times.

The larger rectangle frame is designed with breaks along the edges, enabling you to cut the stamp into multiple pieces so that you can use the design in a variety of ways. You may even find that the stamp is partially cut when it arrives. Here it is used to connect all the boxes. And note the marks along the edge below, which were made using part of yet another stamp in the set.

Your Story

The linear designs in set ESA36 are highlighted in this piece of art, which uses 4 of the 7 stamps from this set.

The tracks stamp was used vertically and repeated 3 times to create a sense of elements hanging or falling from the top. A completely different effect would occur if used horizontally or crosshatched both vertically and horizontally.

The small square frame stamp was used to highlight the design in another stamp from the set, turning a design detail in more of a focal point.

Dream

The final piece I am sharing in this post uses what is the largest stamp in this release and has quickly become my favorite stamp from this release: the faux text stamp.. It was also used in two other pieces of art I made using this set but here it is used as a highlight.

The lettering really draws the viewer into the piece in an attempt to read the text..but created with abstract detail in mind, it simply allows the viewer to come up with their own interpretation of the words.

This piece also uses bits of several other stamps from this set to add detail and contrasting marks.

Many thanks for spending time with me here and reading about the release and the way in which I have used the stamps. Now it is your turn to use them and my turn to see all the magic that you make. Also sending out a huge thank you to the PaperArtsy crew for all your support and behind the scenes work!
