Hi everyone, Tracy Scott here. I know school is just resuming, but Christmas is not that far away, so lets have a look at how my new releases could be used for the festive season and beyond !!.

As with all my releases I try to create images that will be multi purpose, I like to get the most out of my stamps and hate the idea of only being able to use them at a particular time of year. With this in mind I created two sets this time with various separate components, what this means is that when the Christmas season has passed they will still be at the top of my pile to be used in other journaling, card making and mixed media projects.

Tonight I wanted to give you a sense of what I might get up to with these stamps, but tomorrow, you'll get more lovely inspiration from Ingrid. Let's take a closer look at each set, and see what the possibilities are!

I adore these stars and even though they most definitely evoke a sense of Christmas, I know that they will be equally at home throughout the rest of the year in many more mixed media projects. Lets take a look at some project ideas both for the Christmas season and for the rest of the year....

'Simple Christmas' by Tracy Scott

I don't normally do 'simple' and don't get a lot of chance to make cards anymore, but wanted to show that when you are short on time and you need that special Christmas card this stamp set is the perfect 'go to'

I just adore the white embossing against the kraft background and the hand written sentiment just makes it all the more unique !!

So what about when the Christmas season comes to an end....

'ATC StarBook' by Tracy Scott

I created a small ATC size book by cutting a strip of card from an A4 sheet and folding it to ATC size accordion style.

I love the simple construction and the Stars in the stamp set lent themselves perfectly to this size book. 

By changing up the colours to this bright and beautiful colour pallet and adding a couple of the circle elements from the 'Circles' stamp set the result is a trendy sweet book for a special friend and with not a hint of Christmas in site.

I love that I can add elements from each stamp set and they co-ordinate perfectly to create one of a kind projects that will last all the year through!



'WaterColour Doodles' by Tracy Scott

 

I don't know about you but I find the practice of doodling so very relaxing and therapeutic, so for this project I wanted to incorporate some of the stamp elements from the 'Stars' & 'Circles' stamp sets and then use them as a starting point for my doodles.

As my stamp images are hand drawn they lend themselves perfectly to this technique and blend in perfectly with any other hand drawn elements I choose to add to my piece. 

What do you think?  I just love the way you can add to the stamped images with this technique and really change it up to make it your own !!

Circles are my ultimate 'go to' and whilst I wanted to be able to create baubles for the festive season, I've kept the patterns 'season neutral' and added the hangers as separate stamps. This way I know that my favourite circles will be a regular feature in my projects throughout the year and not just at Christmas time.

'HO HO HO' by Tracy Scott

I began my mixed media journey as an 'Art Journaller' and my journal tends to be my 'go to' substrate when I'm trying out new stamps and ideas. I'm absolutely thrilled with this stamp set, it has done exactly what I intended it to do (don't you just love it when that happens !!).  

I created some fabulous hanging baubles for my Christmas themed journal page raising them up onto 3D foam tape to add interest and used some of the elements from the 'Stars' set to add detail to my background.

I love that this stamp set will become a real staple in my everyday kit throughout the year as well as the perfect set for those seasonal pages and cards.

'Happy Birthday' by Tracy Scott

Oh I do love a circle and I promised you that this set would be multi purpose!!! 

And what could be more multipurpose than going from a Christmas Bauble themed journal page to a bright and beautiful circle themed Birthday Card? And all with the same stamp set....
