Blooming Book {with Eclectica³ Darcy Stamps by Alison Bomber}

Hello all, Alison here from Words and Pictures, and delighted to be with you again here at PaperArtsy, just to share a quick bit of playtime with you.  As some of you may know, things are pretty full-on at the moment round my way, so I fancied a bit of gentle whimsy to lower my heart rate!

I used an old book (scene of another bit of PaperArtsy journalling last year) to do a bit of fairytale scene setting.  I played with some of Darcy's stamps released earlier this year - and I'm still on the blues and greens for extra serenity.  So, here's my whimsical orchard, with my little house tucked away in the peace and quiet.

I played with stamps from EDY05, EDY06, EDY07 and EDY08.

I started with a couple of washes of Fresco Acrylic Paints over the book pages - Stone and Snowflake - and then stamped the house in Potting Soil Archival, clear embossed it, and used a water brush with my paints to colour it in - Beach Hut and Limelight, in case you're interested.  I did a bit of white pen work to add highlights.

EDY08.
I used Distress Ink to stamp the grasses (Mowed Lawn and Peeled Paint), but the flower heads are coloured in with the paints, and with a little white doodling added using the Sharpie Paint Pen again.

EDY07
I used the white pen to add a bit of extra fruit to my trees - they really are flourishing!  The trunks are watercoloured with Vintage Photo DI, and the "apples" are pure Limelight.  The sky behind is just a wash of Broken China Distress Stain.

EDY06,
The words are clear-embossed over Potting Soil again, stamped on some mop-up watercolour paper, and I used my Broken China Distress Marker and the water brush to create the shading around them.  And around the edges of the pages, I stamped the fabulous swirly doodly border from EDY05 in Mowed Lawn and Peacock Feathers and clear embossed it for some added shine before adding a touch more doodling.

EDY05

So that's me for today.  Hope you've enjoyed the trip into my whimsical orchard.  I certainly ended my playtime feeling a lot calmer than when I started so I'm grateful for that.  Thanks so much for stopping by - it's always great to hear what you think - and I'll see you around!
Alison.

A huge thanks to Alison from all at PaperArtsy HQ, what a fabulous page. i would love to live there, hidden away in that fairytale orchard. I think sometimes we get so caught up in making complicated projects that we forget how satisfying it can be to just do some colouring in.
