Challenged by {Alison Bomber} ...

1. And the winners are...
No winners this week, as we had #3UP last week, so there was not a Sunday challenge - instead it was a mega 8 DAYS where 50 of you were challenged instead!!!

As you well know...it's a new Semester to take us through to the end of the year, so we have 4 months ahead of us with 4 exciting new designers to introduce you to.

2. The week ahead...
Coming up in the week ahead we welcome brand new team member Alison Bomber
Alison is a brave guest ... I am sure she is much newer to crafting than many of you! So well done to her for agreeing to be a Guest Contributor for the next 4 months!

Clock Close up by Alison Bomber
A bit about Alison in her own words ....

My name is Alison, and crafting is a relatively recent thing for me.  I only really started my exploration in March 2012, after being dragged into helping my sister-in-law, Laura, create a 70th Birthday Album for my mother.

I didn't discover Craftyblogland until last summer. Although I've done bits and pieces most of my life (often to help out with my mother's dollshouse hobby), this whole world of stashes and challenges and talented, inspirational crafters blew me away.

By Alison Bomber
It's fair to say, though, that I'm now a full-blown addict - I couldn't stop if I tried.  I forget to eat.  I lose sleep.  I have to craft!
By day (although it's just as often 'by night') I'm a Text and Voice Coach in the theatre, so I'm a passionate WordPlayer. I love words, and their endless capacity to inform, persuade, amuse, amaze, excite and inspire. And now, I also love trying to find images, collages or objects which will complement those words, and even express something themselves.

By Alison Bomber

I love altering things, transforming an object - especially books! - with paper, inks and paints... and I'm a fanatical tag-maker.  I love layers and texture and distressing and inking, but my chief love, I think, is probably stamps and stamping.

By Alison Bomber
The whole process still seems like a kind of magic to me, and I feel I'm still at the exploring and playing stage of discovering who I am as a crafter.

So I'm sure you will all join me in welcoming Alison to the blog. It's an absolute joy to have the creativity of someone so new to crafting featured here, and I hope you will all join in with Alison's weekly challenges where possible over the coming months.

3. Challenged by....{Alison Bomber}

I do hope that you will find time to join in with Alison's techniques this week. We are looking to see an item you have specifically made this week 'as inspired by Alison'.  Details are below, and the winners will be announced this time next week.

Challenge Rules:
  1. You can link to your own blog, Pinterest or Flickr pages, or any webpage that shows us what you have made in response to Alison's posts this week.  You can enter just once, or multiple times.
  2. Next Sunday (15th Sept) by noon (London Time) you need to have your link entered, and you will go into one of 2 draws to win 'stuff'. Generally the prize can be rubber stamps of your choice, but Leandra likes to mix it up and sometimes other items are sent out relevant to the ideas explored during the week by the designer.
  3. The first draw is for every single entry linked, so if you have multiple entries, you will be entered multiple times.
  4. The second draw is one entry per name, and the winner of Draw 1 is not included in this second draw.
  5. Winners are announced here, this time next week.
  6. To claim your prize, email Leandra with your full name and postal address to sales@paperartsy.co.uk

Alison, I love all the projects shown above.

It's amazing that you've only been paper-crafting for a year and a half. You're going to be "one to watch" as you continue on your journey!

Congratulations on your new gig with Paper Artsy!
