2020 #6 Jungle Vibes: 'My Jungle Adventure' with HP {by Miriam Grazier}

2020 Topic 6: Jungle Vibes

Miriam takes us to far flung places with her fanciful slide embellished memory panel. She uses some vellum in a really vintage-inspired way that gives the perfect jungle feel ~ Keren

Hi everyone, it's Miriam with you today, and I'd like to share with you a panel that I have created as if to capture memories of a holiday in the jungle.

I had loads of ides flowing in my head for this one.  I thought about creating the slide mounts as if they were pictures that I could have taken.  I also wanted the amazing Giraffe to be centre of attention.  This opened the opportunity of using some amazing stamps that I have in my stash, such as the slide stamps and die.

Once I got started with my idea I couldn't stop.  I used the amazing new Fresco Acrylic paint releases which worked wonderfully for the Jungle Vibes theme. I used Beanstalk, Willow, Spring, Gumboots, Haystack and Chalk.

After brayering a white card panel, I stamped the wonderful fern from ESN37.  I thought this would fit in perfectly with my jungle scene.

I also wanted to add extra texture to the background and so stamped the script part of the giraffe stamp using Spring Fresco Acrylic Chalk paint.

I used vellum for the slides as I wanted a more vintage feel to them but I also added some walnut strain distress ink to the back of them to age them a bit more. I used an older Hot Picks set (HPSD02) that some of you might still have in your collection to stamp the outer part of the slides.

I stamped the beetles around the edges of a black panel.  I loved the contrast of the black and white against the vibrancy of the green jungle.

I really had so much fun creating this panel.  There are so many wonderful stamps in the Hot Picks collection.  I really hope that you feel encouraged to join in with this theme yourselves.  There are so many possibilities with colour and stamps.

Thanks for joining me this evening.  Pop over to my blog to see more detail of how I created my project.

Happy Crafting,
Miriam
