2020 Topic 6: Jungle Vibes
Carol's
well chosen quote could have been penned for so many of us. Her page is
a collection of wonderful details. Check out that fab Grunge Paste
foliage and the bird with gigantic dreams!
~ Keren
Hi everyone, it's Carol with you today, and I'd like to share with you a Journal page. I have gone for colours with my Jungle vibe. Using dark greens with a hint of blue sky and pink sunsets peeping through on the background.
Darcy's little bird sits at the bottom having flown in from foreign lands, and after passing a flock of Flamingos on the way she is now dreaming of being a Flamingo herself.

The finished page with my Wannabe Flamingo perched among the leaves.
A quick bit of dry brushing with Khaki, Sage and Lawn to get some colour on my page.
Starting to add layers with stencil PS126 using Marbles and Bubble Gum.
More layers with Haystack and PS036
Adding a bit of Homemade washi tape, this was left over from a previous project.
Using Snowflake and PS046 to blend it all together a bit.
I stamped and coloured Darcy's stamp EM12 using black Archival ink and blended Bubble Gum and Prawn with my brush as I went.
My quote is from ZA08 and is stamped onto homemade washi tape and cut up to suit the layout of my page.
I used the large text from HP1304 and green archival ink to add a darker green to my background before adding Grunge Paste mixed with Jade through stencil PS075.
I now stitched around my page before adding it to my journal. (I work loose leaf as I like to stitch and this saves the page underneath getting wrecked.) Once stuck down I felt it needed a bit more darkness so I used the leaf stem from ELB29 and dark green archival ink to add this.

I finished it all with a quick rub of green ink over the dried Grunge paste and a Splatter with Bubble Gum paint.
I personally think a quote can make or break a journal page and can also take it in the direction that you want.
I
was a bit stumped for a quote on this but then I found the Zinski one
and it just seemed to perfectly reflect what my little bird wanted to
say. None of my images used are jungle themed but I hoped with the pink
and the combined quote it would hopefully relay what I was thinking.
This theme did push me out of my comfort zone with the choice of stamps
to use, but it was fun and it does show that any type of stamp can be
twisted to anything especially with a well chosen quote.
I hope you enjoyed my post, and I can be found at the following places.
