Eclectica³ Collection {Seth Apter}
February 2021 New Product Announcement
A note from Leandra:
Wow!
Well I don;t think you will have any issues using these designs for
your mixed media backgrounds and much more! They totally reflect all
that is good about Seth and his creative style.
Don't
forget we have Seth sharing these stamps and his samples live in PaperArtsy People
shortly after this post publishes. It's nice to meet the designer and
hear direct from them about this new release, so I hope you can catch him, either LIVE or on the replay.
Remember,
these stamps are available EXCLUSIVELY from our
approved stockists for the next 3-4 months. With freight prices soaring
due to fewer flights worldwide, it makes sense to buy local within your
country, see the list and links at the bottom of this blog post.
I hope you really enjoy checking out these new products today, don't forget to leave a comment for the designer at the foot of the post.

I am thrilled to share my newest release for PaperArtsy: three all new stamp sets.
These
stamp sets were designed with the concept of creative flexibility and
the needs of the mixed media artist in mind. Across the three sets you
will find stamps perfect for creating grungy backgrounds, mark making,
building abstract focal points, and self expression through text. All
three sets work well together and you can create your own, individual
stamp designs by using different stamps together or individual stamps in
repeating patterns. Examples of this are shown below.
New Stamps
Price: RRP €21.92 +VAT
Size:5" x 6" (13 x16.5cm)
All stamps are individually trimmed onto cling foam, presented in a clear hanging bag
with a laminated storage/index sheet.

Dream
is the first of several samples were a single stamp is used repeatedly
to create a larger, stronger focal point for the artwork. In this case,
the triangle grid stamp seen in the upper right hand corner of the stamp
set was used 5 times to develop a unique design that dominates the
piece. By using the stamp this way, you will be able to come up with a
unique pattern every time. The word DREAM was created using my new
alphabet, ESA21, highlighted below.
This
photo shows the detail of the grid, made up of triangles, diamonds,
lines, and a few mixed media splatters for more personality.
Now or Never
is another example of a single stamp, in this case the large grid of
overlapping ovals, being used repeatedly to create a unique and larger
design. In addition, the smaller stamp of overlapping ovals was also
used and this design adds more flexibility to build your own unique
abstract design. Once again, the alphabet from ESA21 was used to create
the text.
This
detail shows how the design allows for the background to show through
as well as enabling you to add elements within each oval, in this
case numbers and hand made marks. These options all enhance layer making
in mixed media art.
Fragile
uses two stamps from ESA19: the FRAGILE and the HANDLE WITH CARE
designs. In this piece, they reference the eggs in the collage in a
tongue in cheek way. But they are perfect to use in journaling, perhaps
to represent what many of us have felt during this past year. And they
are ready-made for mail art as well.
The
phrase HANDLE WITH CARE also offers you a great deal of variety. With
some simple masking, you can use the stamp to spell HAND and CARE
quite easily.
123
uses two of the stamps from ESA19: the numbered ovals as well as the
diamond grid. Both of these stamps can be used on their own but can also
be matched with the two oval grid stamps and the triangle grid stamp
respectively. This gives you even more flexibility to create in your own
unique style.
This
detail shows all the imperfections purposely designed for the diamond
grid to add authenticity and interest to your artwork. After all,
imperfect is the new perfect.
FIND YOUR FIRE
is a phrase that I have thought about many times this past year as
challenge after challenge were placed in our paths. What better use of a
text stamp than to express ones feelings? It serves as the focal point
of this piece. Three other design stamps from the same set were used to
add supporting details, all which lead the viewers eye to the main
phrase.
The
detail shot shows the different uses of the grungy design stamps -
placing the same stamp in both horizontal and vertical positions, using
only portions of a a stamp coming off the edge of the artwork,
overlapping multiple stamps, and stamping a single stamp repeatedly to
extend the design.
HOPE
uses a single stamp from ESA20 in multiple ways. The overlapping
circles border stamp was used with a light ink color and repeatedly
pressed on the painted background to add subtle dimension and perceived
texture. The same stamp was used to create five parallel images that
form the major design feature of the artwork. Letters from set ESA21
spell out the word HOPE.
The design detail in blue ink is the letter i from my alphabet set ESA21.
The
largest stamp in set ESA20 is the grid of rectangles. This is one of my
favorite stamps of the set as I can imagine using it in so many ways.
Here it is used as the visual for a color chart, with rub-on letters
spelling out a single color in each of the rectangles, with spots of
color in each as well. Letters from set ESA21 were embossed to spell out
COLOR CHART.
It is all in the details and the design of this stamp includes random lines, swirls, spots, and overlapping boxes.
I
am a sucker for an alphabet. I use letters, words and phrases in my
journal and in the majority of artwork. Not only can you express your
emotions via text and add a title to a work, but you can use letters as
design elements to enhance the look of your work. I created this set
line by line, scratch by scratch, coming up with a unique grungy font
that includes slices within the body of each letter to allow the
background to glance through. Examples of ways to use these letters are
evident in many of the images already pictured in this post.
Finally,
here's a reminder of my paint colours that I have with PaperArtsy, we
will be adding to these in the coming months, and I can't wait to share
the next 4 colours with you in an upcoming release!
Fresco Paints
Price: RRP €4.58 +VAT
Size: 50 ml
Size: 50 ml
Fresco
Finish Chalk Acrylic Paints are a matte finish paint, with opacity
varying from translucent, semi-opaque or opaque (see the hand-painted
chevron on each bottle).
These
paints are low VOC, UV resistant, clean up in water and suitable for
indoor and outdoor use, as well as perfect for all manner of surfaces:
fabric, wood, card, paper, chipboard, leather and more.
They
do not require an undercoat, these are chalk based, therefore every
option is like a coloured gesso; the opacity determines the level of
coverage. Thin with any PaperArtsy glaze to increase the translucency to
your preference.
Thank
you so much for reading through this post and seeing what this release
offers. I am hoping you are inspired and have some ideas of how you
would use these stamps. If you do, please post in social media and tag
me. I would love to see what the artist in you creates!
