NEW PA Products {Feb 2016} Emma Godfrey Stamps

Hi everyone, Leandra here again.

I know, we are spoiling you with 2 releases tonight! So lets take a look!!

This new release is from the wonderful Emma Godfrey. This is a partial release tonight, we have 3 more stamp sets to follow towards the end of the month for the Stitches trade show (Feb 21st) in Birmingham, England.

As you may be aware, Emma works here at PaperArtsy as a senior elf, but prior to that, she had her own gorgeous scrapbooking shop, and that is how I first met her. She sold PaperArtsy stamps - oh and she would also come to our ArtsyCrafts retreats too! Emma still runs her own crops regularly in Upmister, London, and you can find out more about that on her blog.

I am amazed how much Emma's style has changed in the last 2 years. She is now fully ensconced in the journaling and mixed media zone which suits her very well, and so she tends to smooch and flick paint all over the place in stunning bright colours. Her samples are gorgeous, and you will see that tonight in this post!

She has switched things up to a larger format this year, and I think you are going to like the fresh modern, funky, scribbly style she has achieved. If you like, these, then keep your eyes peeled, another 3 will follow VERY soon!

Here's a video introduction and some samples using these new stamps for you to check out!

As ever, we always have some super talented crafts who volunteer to help us work with our newest stamps.  I'll hand over now to Emma who will introduce her support crew tonight, and has some of her own work with these new stamps to show you too.

Enjoy

~Leandra

Hi everyone, Emma here to show you the newest stamps that I've designed for PaperArtsy.

As Leandra mentioned above I {heart} art journaling and for 2016 I wanted to design some stamps with elements that I quite often draw freehand in my journal. And quotes ... I love quotes ... you can never have too many in my opinion!

Tonight I have three very talented wing-men who have made some fabulous samples ... I do love to see how other people use my stamps in such different ways!

Tonight we start with Anneke De Clerck.
I adore Anneke's clean and simple but also "thinking outside the box" style, the way she combines colours and elements is always awe-inspiring.

'Bloom Card' using EEG14/15 by Anneke De Clerck
Anneke says: I love the flower stamps because of their size and the 'open' design. I've used the large flower with my 3"x5" gel printing plate and stencils to make a masterboard. I've cut a card and tag out of that sheet. Instead of coloring the flower with paint I practiced my doodling skills on it :)

'Happiness Blooms Card' using EEG14 by Anneke De Clerck
Anneke says: Less is more :)  Simply stamped the smallest flower with Distress Ink.

'Wherever You Go' using EEG13/15 by Anneke De Clerck
Anneke says: Each set holds big stamps, small stamps and awesome quotes. The perfect stamps to use on art journal spreads but they are very suitable for card making too.

'Art' using EEG15/4 by Anneke De Clerck
Anneke says: I stamped the swirly circles on a gelli plate print to create a flower. In my opinion the swirly circles are very versatile: they can be used for background stamping, as a flower, as a frame.... the possibilities are endless.

'Canvas' using EEG15 by Anneke De Clerck
Anneke says: The perfect quote to stamp on a canvas isn't it :)

Next up we have Lauren Hatwell
Lauren is someone with a fantastic imagination ... she can see alternative uses for stamps that seem so obvious once she's done it, but that I would never think of.  And she finishes everything so beautifully (check out the inside of her cards if you don't believe me!).

'All Your Heart' using EEG13 by Lauren Hatwell
Lauren says: I really love the larger sized shapes and quotes on this release of Emma's. So useful for journalling, they mix and match brilliantly. I like to use lots of different styles and mediums and all the stamps really lend themselves to that. There are, quite literally, no limits.

'Swirly Girly' using EEG14/15 by Lauren Hatwell
Lauren says: I had so much fun making this little tag and that, after all, is what it's all about. Everything I needed was right there in front of me and I think it clearly demonstrates just how far you can take these amazing stamps.

'Happiness Blooms' using EEG14/15 by Lauren Hatwell
Lauren says: These big "happy" flowers are gorgeous and I love their swirly centres. You can throw loads of product at them or keep them really clean and simple and they still work beautifully.

'In Love With Life' using EEG13/15 by Lauren Hatwell
Lauren Says: I really enjoyed colouring this with my Copic markers. Emma's clean, bold designs really are a dream to work with, whichever medium I want to use.

Our third contributor tonight is Etsuko Noguchi
I asked Etusko to make some samples for me as she has such a fantastic eclectic style and I was intrigued to see what she would create. I love the extra little touches she puts into all her projects ... as you will see here.

'Love Mini Album' using EEG13/14/15 by Etsuko Noguchi
Etusko says: The stamped diamonds on each side of this mini album pull out card to reveal four photographs (as you'll see in the video above). The two different sized flower stamps were layered up to make a large floral focal point.

'Illumination Art' using EEG13/14/15 by Etsuko Noguchi
Etusko says: I love illumination art. The circle stamp makes a frame for the photograph, and I created a collage background with the other stamps.

'They Bloom ATC' using EEG14/15 by Etsuko Noguchi
Etusko says: I really love the pretty flower stamps. I used them to make an embellishment from shrink plastic and resin. With the other stamps I made a background for the card. This is a very eye-catching piece.

'Love Tag' using EEG13/15 by Etsuko Noguchi
Etusko says: The cute heart is the focal point of this tag. I also used a shrink plastic flower, and created a messy style background with the other stamps.

Wow - didn't they do brilliantly? So now it's time to show you what I've made with these new stamps. I've got a few step outs so you can see exactly how this all came together...

Project One: 'We're All Different Wild Flowers' using stamp sets EEG13/14/15
by Emma Godfrey

First I've made an art journal page ...

Step One: First I started with a page in my journal that already had some Little Black Dress and Zesty Zing Fresco Finish paint leftovers on it.

Step Two: I added some more Fresco Finish paint in Zesty Zing, Caribbean Sea, Inky Pool and Limelight to fill up the space.  Then a messy layer of Fresco Finish Snowflake.

Step Three: Next I stenciled Cobalt Archival Ink pad through The Crafters Workshop Mini Believe Script stencil, and Magenta Hue Archival Ink pad through some sequin waste.  I stamped the wavy line (EEG14) and the small lines (EEG15) with a Jet Black Archival Ink pad. I coloured in the empty squares of the wavy lines with an Extra Fine White Sharpie Paint Pen.

Step Four: I smooched Dreamweaver Translucent Embossing Paste through The Crafters Workshop Mini Reversed Chickenwire, and when it was dry went over it with White Fire Treasure Gold. I stamped the tiny dots (EEG13) in Versamark, and heat embossed them with a bright pink embossing powder. To finish the background I stamped Mini 72 using Fresco Finish Snowflake paint.

Step Five: On a piece of Smoothy card (just big enough for one large and two small flowers) I drybrushed Fresco Finish Zesty Zing and Orchid paints, and then stenciled Aquamarine Archival Ink through The Crafters Workshop Mini Texturized. I stamped the flowers using the black Archival Ink pad, added some highlights with the white Sharpie pen, and then cut them out. I edged the flowers with White Fire Treasure Gold. I stamped the quote onto Smoothy card with the black Archival Ink pad (I do this twice so that I can cut out alternate lines - which lets me leave the biggest space around each line) and cut them out. To finish I stuck the flowers and quote down, and outlined the quote with a black pen.

Project Two: 'Life Is A Great Big Canvas' using stamp sets EEG15 by Emma Godfrey

I've also made a piece of framed art ...

Step One: First I cut a piece of Smoothy card slightly bigger than the aperture of the frame. I stenciled Cobalt Archival Ink pad through the lines on PaperArtsy Stencil PS018. I then applied a watered down layer of Fresco Finish Zesty Zing, Limelight and Caribbean Sea.

Step Two: Now I applied a thin layer of Fresco Finish Snowflake paint - leaving it thicker in just a few places. Once that layer was dry I stenciled the Magenta Hue Archival Ink pad through sequin waste, and stamped the circles (EEG15) with a Cobalt Archival Ink pad.

Step Three: I stamped the small lines (EEG15) using Fresco Finish Snowflake paint and the spiky circles (EEG15) with an Aquamarine Archival Ink pad.

Step Four: Using Fresco Finish Snowflake paint I stamped Mini 72 and some bottle tops. I smooched some Dreamweaver Translucent Embossing Paste through The Crafters Workshop Mini Cubist stencil and let it dry before applying White Fire Treasure Gold. I added some dots using the Extra Fine White Sharpie Paint Pen.

Step Five: To finish, I added some tiny dots with a gold paint pen, some dots of Fresco Finish Inky Pool (using the handle end of a paintbrush), and some lines using a credit card and Fresco Finish Orchid. I stamped the quote twice onto Smoothy card using Magenta Hue Archival Ink pad. I cut out alternate lines from each quote (this lets you leave the biggest possible space around each line), and matted them onto black cardstock. I positioned the artwork behind the aperture and then glued on the quote, before putting it all together in the frame.

So I hope you love the stamps, and all the samples we've made. If you would like to follow me I am on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and have a blog and Facebook page.

I am teaching art journaling workshops at various shops in Essex in the next few months - you can find more information here. If you would like me to come and teach at a shop near you, please ask the shop to get in touch with me.

Gosh where to begin? First, I love these stamps they were clearly designed for me (snort). Perfect for art journaling which I've already been madly doing since the PA Christmas party. How could you put them down? But now I've seen all these wonderful samples I'm blown away with so many ideas! I can't tell you how many of these I've just pinned. I adore the colour choices too. Anneke's samples are really awesome but it really is hard to select just one wing woman tonight! Well done Emma and please keep designing such wonderful, inspiring stamps!
