NEW: Zinski Art Stamps {by Corrie Herriman}

September 2019 New Products
Zinski Art Collection

As ever from Elena, the expression and humour within her stamp collection makes it a joy to work with these delightful characters, and Corrie has created so many samples with lots of techniques thrown in too! These stamp are available NOW from our stockists, see yesterday's post here for a current list of our stockists worldwide. Enjoy! ~ Leandra

Hi everyone, it's Corrie with you today and I have some samples to share with you that I have made with the fabulous new Zinski collection. I am afraid that this is going to be quite a long post because I got terribly carried away ! So sit back, have a nice cuppa (or something stronger) and relax !

I started with the Halloween stamps and here is what I came up with:

How cute are these little fellows ! Here's how:

I added PaperArtsy {Grunge Paste} onto a piece of {Smoothy Heavy Card} stock with a stencil by Scrapcosy {PS134}.

Next I added three shades of PaperArtsy Fresco Finish Chalk Acrylics, two of which are brand new ! {Forget me not}, {Periwinkle} and {Purple Rain}.

Next I brayered over some white Fresco Finish Acrylic Paint {Snowflake} and I added some little bats from stamp set {ZA48}.

I then stamped and coloured the big bats (are they bats?) and cut them out.

The whole thing was then put together. I added a sentiment from the same stamp set.

Next a clean and simple card using the smaller stamp from the set.

This was a case of stamping, die cutting the panels and gluing it all together...

I love the little eyes in the 'P' from Positively.

And the last Halloween project :

This was so much fun to make..

First I coloured all the images I was going to use and also added one image (moon) of one of the new Christmas sets, I used Copic markers to colour all the images on all the projects.

I then cut out three tags (I keep one of the size 8 tags from Tim Holtz and use that as a template). I painted them each with two shades of PaperArtsy Fresco Finish Chalk Acrylics, again using some new colours. For the purple : {Periwinkle} and {Forget me not}, for the green: {Teresa Green} and {Lawn} and for the orange : {Tangerine Twist} and {Cayenne}. I then added some stencilling on each tag with the darkest colour and PaperArtsy Scrapcosy stencil PS134.

After adding some writing, washitape and sentiments they were ready for the finishing touch...

... some ribbon!

Right, that's Halloween done ! On to Christmas... The first project was a set of three CaS cards. I occasionally like doing clean and simple. These three cards are all made with the set {ZA49} and I added part of a sentiment from set {ZA50} on the card with the dog in the green jumper.

These cards were all made in the same way; I stamped the dogs and the sentiments on the cards, using Memento ink for the dogs and Versafine Clair for the sentiments. Memento is perfect with Copics. I then coloured the images and added some shading under them. When I had finished I glued the panels onto white cards.

So very cute, aren't they !

Next was a set of three cards for which I made gel printed backgrounds.

Here's how:

I used two of the new PaperArtsy Fresco Finish Chalk Acrylics for my backgrounds. They are {Red Lipstick} and {Summer Sky}.

I printed 4 panels but in the end I only used three of them. I also used a mask to add a checkered pattern just because I think that is somewhat Christmassy ! It is PaperArtsy {PM009} by Emma Godfrey and I also used the star stamp from set {ZA52} to add interest to my print.

For the first card I used the Gingerbread man and the sentiment from set {ZA52}; the idea was to use the red and blue sentiment to glue over the one on the blue card but in the end I left it as it was because I liked it better like that. I stamped the gingerbread man twice and coloured the one on the white Smoothy Card, cut him out and adhered him to the panel. I did add some stamping to the panel.

I added some doodling around the panel and glued it to a white card.

This card was made in exactly the same way apart from the sentiment. I stamped it separately and adhered it cut into pieces onto the card. The tree is from stamp set {ZA52} and the sentiment is from {ZA50}.

This third card was also made in the same way. The cat is from set {ZA50}.

I hope I am not boring you ! lol There is still more to come ! Next up is a journal page, you already saw a little sneak peek at the top of this post...

These two crack me up. When I saw this set {ZA49} I knew I wanted to make something with those two looking at each other.

Again I decided to use my gel press plate. I used three new colours of PaperArtsy Fresco Finish Chalk Acrylics {Aquamarine}, {Sand} and {Truffle}. I also used the Emma Godfrey mask again {PM009}.

I used the same mask to make a print here and there on the page. You just rub Distress Oxide ink over the stencil/mask and spritz it with water, lay it on your project, dab it with kitchen paper and voila! a printed stencil. For stamping I used the tree from set {ZA52} and Archival ink to randomly stamp. I also used a very light brown ink to stamp the sentiment repeatedly along the right and left edges of the paper. You can just see it.

Next I brayered over some more paint, this time I used {Cloud 9} which is another new colour. I also splattered with a white paint pen.

I stamped and coloured my favourite guys and cut them out. I wasn't sure whether I wanted a sentiment on white or on painted card so I did both so I could see which I preferred.

And here they are !

Next up is a wall hanging with one of the cats from set {ZA50}.

Here's how:

I made a panel from lollypop sticks and cut some holes in the outer sticks so I could add some wire later. I painted the panel with PaperArtsy Fresco Finish Chalk Acrylics, again using three new colours : {Calypso}, {Waterfall} and {Lawn} and an oldie {Snowflake}.

The cat and cracker were coloured with Copic markers and cut out.

Next I used stencil {PS023} by Clare Lloyd to add dots or in this case I would call them snowflakes. I also heat embossed the star from set {ZA52} with white powder. I then stamped the cat onto the panel. This didn't have to be very good because it was only so I knew where to adhere the little stars.

And here is a close up from the finished hanging.

Next up is a tag:

How cute is she/he? lol

Start again was the gel press plate, this time I used PaperArtsy Fresco Finish Chalk Acrylics {Red Lipstick} and {Blood Orange} both new ! After I took this picture I decided to add {Truffle} as a base.

In the second layer of paint I added the mask {PM009} by Emma Godfrey. The cat was partly stamped onto the tag because of the earrings. I cut out the stars but had to make sure the line between the ears and the stars was there because that is almost impossible to cut out. I added some washi tape for her to sit on, coloured her with my markers and...

.....there you have it.

So, every year my mother gives us a little cheeseboard for Christmas with cheese and chutney on it. I can never throw anything away, so when the cheese is gone I put the board away to use for something. I am sure there are lots of you that do the same ! I used mine for the next project :

I painted the background with PaperArtsy Fresco Finish Chalk Acrylics {Cloud 9} and...

some of the {Lawn}. I added some grass with a marker and stamped the cow because I wanted all the small details that I wouldn't be able to cut out. I added the moon and then decided to make some clouds out of book pages. I painted them lightly with {Elephant}.

Next I spotted that this cow had some stars on its body so I stamped that part a few times, coloured the stars and cut them out. I adhered them to my board.

Lastly I added my coloured cow and the sentiment.

Are you all still there ? lol Only two more small projects !

I started with painting the card with PaperArtsy Fresco Finish Chalk Acrylics with a brayer. I used {Cloud 9} and {Elephant} and then stamped the moon with {Elephant} too. Make sure to clean your stamps straight away after you use them with paint.

I coloured the cow and cut her out.

I clued her onto the card panel and then stamped the sentiment on to a piece or torn vellum with Archival ink. I stapled it to the panel. I also added a white line along the edges and some splatters and then adhered the panel to a white card.

So we have come to the last project which is a tag:

To start I cut a tag out of PaperArtsy Smoothy Heavy card stock using my template and painting it with Fresco Finish Chalk Acrylics {Summer Sky} and {Cloud 9}.

Next I used Kim Dellow's stencil {PS034} with {Snowflake} Fresco Finish Chalk Acrylic.

I stamped part of the cow on to the tag; especially the parts that I couldn't cut out and then heat embossed the sentiment that I stamped repeatedly onto the tag along the edges. I used Distress Oxide ink and holographic embossingpowder for a bit of sparkle.

After I coloured the cow and cut her out I adhered her onto the tag.

I added some doodles, some vellum and a sentiment from the set with the cats {ZA50} (I just left the word CATegorically out)  which I cut into strips.

I had a blast making all these samples! I hope you didn't get bored with me. They are just very versatile and once I started I couldn't stop. I hope you have just as much fun as I did when you decide to buy these stamps but I am sure you will !
