Eclectica³ Collection {Sara Naumann}
September 2019 New Product Announcement
September 2019 New Product Announcement
Sara,
in her inimitably organised fashion had these stamps created for this
day, what seems like many many months ago and I LOVE them, I've been
itching to use them and share them with you all! I find that Sara's
style is perfect for using up all manner of backgrounds I have lying
around: scrapbook papers, brayered or gel prints. Just pop the stamp on
top and tadaaa, easy card done!! The details in these collages are just
fantastic! I hope you like them too! ~ Leandra
Hi everyone, Sara Naumann here! :)
I'm really pleased to show you my newest PaperArtsy releases for Christmas!
For this collection, I expanded on the botanical theme from my July 2019 releases—this time with a winter vibe in mind. I wanted the collage elements to work nicely with both ink and paint, so that you could simply stamp an image onto a background and have an eye-catching focal point with a lot of presence, (especially good if you create a lot of cards for Christmas). Of course, there are always extra elements like stars and script so you can do some collaging of your own. Last but not least, it's my hope that you'll find many of these designs versatile enough for general winter themes too.
The elves at PaperArtsy HQ also sent me some gorgeous Fresco Finish paints, Lawn and Aquamarine. {swoon swoon swoon} While these two new loves in no way replace my feelings for Mermaid and Slimed, they've been out on my work table for a couple of weeks and I have no intention of putting them away. They're so perfect for Christmas cards (especially with Gold---looooove Gold spatters!).
Today and tomorrow you will see ideas with these stamps from myself and another of the Team PA Bloggers. You can also see plenty of activity on PaperArtsy's Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest. (links at the foot of this post) So no matter what your preferred social media platform, we will be sharing with you!
Let's check out these new releases, some ideas from each set and a couple of projects.

I
love a really large and striking focal element—quick to stamp and great
for making a statement. All you need is a bit of colour behind it for extra contrast (you'll see Aquamarine and Gold
paint here). I also love this image for embossing. Here, it's stamped
in black and clear-embossed to pick up the paint colour underneath. Next
time I think I'll go for a double-layer of coloured embossing... maybe
first in green, then on top in gold metallic?
More
botanicals... I truly can't get enough of simple leaves for any
occasion, but I think they give such a fresh new look when combined with
traditional Christmas sentiments. If you're using a stamp positioner,
you can easily stamp the leaf in one colourway (here I've stamped with
Lawn paint, then on top with clear embossing powder) and the text in a
different ink colour. (The harlequin background is made with the PS092 Stencil.)
Aquamarine
+ Lawn + the PaperArtsy brayer... see what I mean about this combo
going so well for Christmas? The cool tones of the Aquamarine and Lawn
paints make a beautiful background for a large image like this one. (My
PaperArtsy brayer is a permanent blue-green.) Next time, I might
double-stamp to get another postmark image and layer that on top of the
first.
Project One: Glad Tidings Post
Lately
I'm really into making masterboards—several of them, in
semi-coordinating colours—and cutting them into strips to be re-worked
into backgrounds.
First I used Grunge Paste to stencil the spatter shapes from the 100 PA Stencil onto white card for a white-on-white dimensional effect. Then I cut the piece into strips.
Then I randomly brayered a light application of Lawn and Aquamarine onto black cardstock. I added a bit of Snowflake brayering. Stencil the open dots and small dots from the same 100 PA Stencil with Grunge Paste. Make a watery wash of Snowflake and spatter, spatter, spatter.
Then, brayer Aquamarine, Lawn and Gold onto white card. Spatter watery Snowflake as before. Repeat to spatter watery Gold.
Stamp the the script from ESN38 and the large leaf motifs from ESN39
with black. Let the ink dry and then you'll cut both pieces into strips
and combine them with the white-on-white Grunge Paste pieces. I like to lay them all out and then use tape on the back to secure them into place.
And finally, brayer Lawn onto white card and black-emboss the image from ESN40. Spatter and colour with watery Gold, then wrap with twine and add to the stripy background with foam tape. Accent with some metallic gems for a finishing touch.
Project Two: Enjoy the Magic
I kept the remainders from the last project to use on this one. I love how the Grunge Paste circles look on the brayered black cardstock... and I have to say, I surprised myself as I wouldn't normally think to use black on a Christmas card!
I
began by lightly brayering Lawn onto Dura-Lar (this is an acetate
"paper" with a vellum-ish look but it's super-sturdy and can be
heat-set). Spatter with a wash of Snowflake and you have instant layers. I use the Distress Splatter Brush but a waterbrush or even old toothbrush can be used too.
Layer
together with the other remaining pieces—this time, simply placing them
overlapping, rather than nesting strips together. Play with the
positioning until you're happy. The Dura-Lar will ghost whatever it's
placed onto, which can give some cool layering effects!
Stamp
the leaf collage from ESN39 onto white card. I wanted to combine the
main image with the sentiment from ESN40, so I used masking tape to mask
off the "Merry Christmas" words originally underneath the leaves. Then,
stamp the script from ESN38 with Gold paint, and stamp the star cluster from ESN39 with black.
Thanks
so much for joining me here today! I really hope these stamps and
project ideas are inspiring you for Christmas. My wish is that you have
loads of fun using these stamps—either set-by-set, or mixing images
across the sets, plus working in some Grunge Paste
and stencils and paints and all the fun stuff you've surely got in your
stash! And while I've professed my love of Aquamarine and Lawn, I
imagine you could achieve a gorgeous look using a totally different
colour palette.
