Hi everyone, it's Nikki with you today from Addicted to Art. I am excited to be sharing some ideas with yesterday's newly released Christmas stamps from Sara Naumann. I have also worked with some of the new paint colours.

The three stamp sets work so well together and have greetings to suit many tastes. Fabulous stamps for both cards and tags for the forthcoming festive season. 

For this set of cards and tags I have incorporated a number of stamps from the different sets. The stamps work on their own or layered for larger or grander cards!

The backgrounds are created using a Gel plate and Fresco Finish Acrylics in Byzantium (new colour - wonderful!) and Twilight. Texture is added to the brayered paint on the gel plate using scrunched up tissue paper. There is a short video below of this simple technique:

On both cards the main image is stamped in two colours of ink with a slight graduation of colours. I used Archival Inks in as close a match to the paint colours I could find! I used Cobalt Blue and Majestic Violet. For the graduation of colour I used a stamp platform - enabling me to stamp a few times in exactly the same place. On the card above I also chose not to use the words on the stamp so I masked these using post its. Again there is a short video to demonstrate this:

I love this little flower off the stamp on ESN38. I stamped this with paint which gives that wonderful subtle texture.

If like me you make lots of backgrounds - the leftover scraps make great coordinating tags. 

Like most of us, once I have the gelli plate out I have to make lots of backgrounds and this seemed a great opportunity to play with some of the other new colours. I selected different colour combinations for these 4x4inch cards using more of Sara's stamps.

I do hope you love these stamps as much as me! The combinations of words and images of different sizes and orientations lend themselves to cards (and other ideas) of all sizes.
