In this post, Jennie shares her gorgeous ideas with Raquel's newest stamps announced here yesterday. First up, a reminder of her new Scrapcosy release. ~ Leandra

Hi everyone, it's Jennie (Live The Dream) with you today, and I'd like to share with you the fun I had using Raquel's new stamp set ESC18 and a fabulous new stencil PS134.

I was really drawn to this stamp set as it had a flower which could be easily fussy cut (ie with straight and curvy edges) and I knew that this would mean I could layer the flowers as well as being able to create a mask for single layer stamping.

I have used some wonderfully bright  (for me.....) Fresco Finish Acrylics too !

For my layered project I have made a 5" x 5" card front using Smoothy Heavyweight cardstock - in two different colourways.

I didn't prime the cardstock at all but stamped directly onto it with Archival Black Ink and then painted with watered down Fresco Finish paints. The leaves were painted with Magic Moss and the flowers with Peach Nectar, Wisteria and Key Lime

It was easy to fussy cut the flowers and leaves with sharp scissors. I did find it easier to do  the inner pieces with a sharp craft knife before cutting out the main flowers and leaves. I blended (and spritzed very lightly) a little Vintage Photo Distress Oxide Ink around the edges  which gave it a more vintage look - and also hid the areas where the painting wasn't so great! I have layered the top set of flowers with glue (Wisteria) and a foam pad (Peach Nectar), both work just as well. Otherwise everything else is just layered directly on top of the previous layer.

The Heavyweight Smoothy card is a fabulous weight for stenciling and I have used Ranger Texture Paste and splattered a little (very) watery Vintage Photo Distress Oxide Ink and blotted it with a piece of kitchen towel. I have used the same inks to stamp the text stamp and the small round medal but sometimes stamping off to get a more varied touch.

I love how the text stamp makes a wonderful foil for the gorgeous spray of flowers and leaves.

And these smaller elements are just soooo me! I love the little circle stamp and this will become a firm favourite I am sure!

I also made a set of ATCs quite quickly while the paints and paste were drying on the cards.

A part of the flower stamp fitted well onto the ATC and it was easy to stamp and cut a mask from ordinary printer paper.

This allowed me to then stamp over the top to create a layered look. I also masked off the circular stamp as well.

I decided to risk some stencil work over the top once it had all dried, this time choosing some of the words from Stencil PS133 which just fitted onto the ATC.

I made a final ATC using the text stamp and the butterfly, this time masking off the sentiment stamp before layering the butterfly on top.

I always find a set of ATCs handy for quick birthday cards - they look great layered individually onto a 6" x 6" card. And these will be doubly useful as I won't trigger the more expensive postal rate for my heavily layered cards!

It has been a pleasure to support Raquel with her new stamp release and I can see these two stamp sets and stencils being used over and over for cards, ATCs, scrapbooking and art journalling. My head is already buzzing with ideas for white embossing and delicate painting as well as using the flower heads for making flowers ! Thank you Raquel.

Retailers have been ordering these stamps ready for you to buy NOW, so see here for a list of stockists at the foot of this post.
