2016 #11 Bird House {by Clare Lloyd}

 2016 Topic 11: Our House

Hi Clare Lloyd here. Tonight I'd like to share with you a little bird house project I have made.

I have had this blank little wooden bird house since I designed my bird girl stamp set and have been waiting for a project theme to fit it...so our house was the perfect chance! But who knew when I started the project I would end up with my head in the clouds?

Step One: I painted the wooden bird house blank using China Fresco Paint, stamped a pattern using images from ECL09 and a denim blue dye based ink pad.

 ECL09

Step Two: When playing around with ideas I spotted a flower in my upside down cloud stamp from ECL10 and I added some sketch lines using a Pigma Fineline pen. I coloured my newly found flowers using alcohol markers.

ECL10
Step Three: I created foliage by double sketching through the clouds and leaves on my PS028 stencil; plus I stamped and coloured the birds from ECL010 using alcohol markers.

Finally it was time to piece and layer all these images onto my wooden bird house using foam pads. I also stamped a little quote around the bead which was added to the string hanger.

Why not take a look at your stamps and stencils. Rotate them, flip them...what new images will you find? Create a sketchy look by double drawing through stencils, just move it a tad and don't be too neat!
Clare.

Oh clever little clouds turning into flowers, they actually look like they were always meant to be that way.  I love to see stamps used like this. Those birds look so happy Clare, in their new house. Perfect pops of colour for summer. ~Darcy
