"Hello All, Clare back for another 3 evenings of inspiration. Over the next 2 nights I will share an altered art project I made using a paper mache pencil case".
project starts with the pencil case.
I draw a border around the inside of my case to create a frame and then
cut it out carefully using a craft knife. I will be using the leftover
piece in part 2 of my project.
Then I paint the outside of the pencil case with a couple of coats of Fresco Eggplant paint.
And the inside with a couple of coats of Fresco Ice Blue paint. You will see in the photo I painted the back of the frame with Eggplant too.
While the Eggplant paint was out I also paint 2 coats onto 2 of the smallest cotton spools from the bag of spools.
Then came some stamping using elements from JOFY Collection 12 and JOFY Collection 10 on both the spools and my pencil case frame box. All my stamping was done using Black Archival Ink.
Around the edges of my case and spools I added a touch of Royal Amethyst Treasure Gold.
To add some detail to my spools I painted some EggPlant carefully around the outside of 2 Prima Mechanicals Typewriter Numbers and once the paint was dried added a bit of Royal Amethyst Treasure Gold to tie everything in.
The embellishments then got glued to the spools like so...
These got hot glued to the bottom of my pencil case frame to create feet.
To complete the outside of my frame, I painted a little resin embellishment and once dried added some Royal Amethyst Treasure Gold to bring out the detail. This was then hot glued to the top of my frame.
Here is my frame done and I will be back tomorrow to show you how I complete the project using some more JOFYs.
Leandra Says: Oh I am loving your colour combination, a brilliant start to this project!
Gillian Says: Loving the deep rich tone Eggplant gives this project and the touches of TG ... beautiful. The typewriter charms look brill nestled within the wooden spools, can't wait for tomorrow nights peak.
