Welcome Back Joanne Wardle Project #1 Warm Fuzzies ....

"This week I am playing with dies. These oak leaf dies are perfect for this time of year and are so versatile. I love that they are not just scaled up versions of each other, but individual designs. There are stamps designed to work with these dies, but that's not the approach I'm taking this week".

There are also so many fabulous autumn colours in PaperArtsy's range of Fresco Paints and I'll be exploring a few of those this week, along with some products not normally associated with the clean and simple style ...

I'm starting my week of with my usual clean and simple approach. This is a really simple card that you could use with virtually any die.

To make this card you'll need these PaperArtsy products.
Along with two white card A6 card blanks (one to cut up)
Trim one piece of card to 3.5”x 5” and stamp a sentiment.
Cut an aperture with the small oak leaf die. Run this through your diecutter again with the appropriate embossing mats to get the lovely embossed egde.

Carefully place this over your card, and mark very lightly with a pencil on the background so you know where to paint.
Choose a selection of autumn colours and combine with a sponge and apply to the area that will show.

Check with the aperture to make sure this looks ok.
Ink up Mini 72 with the same paint and stamp over the aperture.

If you are worried about how to clean paint of your stamps, I just use a dry microfibre cloth while the paint is still wet and it works a treat. If it's more stubborm, wet the cloth.
Mount the aperture piece to the main card with foam pads.
Join me again tomorrow evening when I will be back with my 2nd project of the week.

Leandra Says: Clean & Simple design achieved but I like how it packs a punch visually. A great way to use the die. Excellent Joanne.

Gillian Says: Such a clean & simple design, the colour choice as you say is perfect with that particular die.

Beautiful card, love the effect. Would love to take part but don't have a die cut machine at the moment so this may require some thought!
