PaperArtsy On Tour : Happy Stampers {at port Sunlight}

It's show time! And that means time to share lots of ideas with you guys oop North!

This weekend we are heading to the Happy Stampers show which is held at the stunning Hulme Hall, Port Sunlight, The Wirral.

The show is on Saturday May 6th, 10:30 - 4:00, and this is a ticketed show, so if you haven't pre-booked online, then you are probably out of luck for an off-the-cuff visit.

I can't get away from using my white pens in the final layers of journalling,. Its a bit of a long demo, painted backgrounds followed by stamps, more colour, then finally I get to put white all over it! I'm addicted. As you can see!

This one is with Kay Carley stamps and (shhhhhhhh) glitter.....

This one a bit softer with watercolours over new Kim Dellow stamps, a tad more delicate and simple, but the same idea nonetheless....

With the new Zinski Art holey flowers - I adore those flowers, they just are super-fun to use! I also got some Seth Apter texture background stamps from Impression Obsession in there, and a new Kay Carley Stencil!!

And with Tracy Scott stamps on a tag.....

.... and another Kim Dellow sample with a Tracy Scott Border.

Demoing with me this weekend I have Lauren who will share how she adores all things Zinski....

She is also a dab hand with the infusions over pewter paint...a twist on what Raquel gets upto, so she'll probably share how she made this with you if you inquire!

Lauren has also fallen head over heels for the new Amsterdam Acrylic Inks too!! Not only do they make sense over textured, stencilled painted layers....

But they are also rather nice for adding colour to images too! And drippage!

And don't forget mixing them into texture paste! That's when you put your mad scientist hat on! Lots and lots of fun!

Keren Baker will be dropping by for a quick lunchtime demo too! Keren always has amazing ideas!

We have lots of new things on the stand. New stamps from:
  • Emma Godfrey
  • Everything Art
  • Jo Firth-Young
  • Kay Carley
  • Kim Dellow
  • Lin Brown
  • Lynne Perrella
  • Seth Apter
  • Scrapcosy
  • Tracy Scott
  • Zinski Art
We also have some awesome new substrates and product to play with!
  • 7 Gypsies journals and these amazing new sticker things from them
  • Plenty of stecnils from Stencil Girl Donna DOwney and Crafters Workshop
  • New Amsterdam Acrylic Paints
  • New Amsterdam Acrylic inks
  • The new Oxide inks from Tim Holtz (a dye/pigment hybrid ink)
  • Prima, ranger Gels and mediums and textures
  • a wide range of Archival Inks by Ranger
  • Lots of Dylusions journals, and other journals too
Do drop by the stand, and make sure to say hello and tell us your twitter handles, and introduce yourself if you follow us online! We love to put faces to names!

If you can't come to the show, we'll be at the Doncaster Dome for Stamp Magic in a few weeks time on Sunday June 4th, our final show until Autumn.

Happy Stamping

PaperArtsy on Tour ...Stamp Magic {Stamp Show, Doncaster}

Hi Everyone,

Leandra here to remind you that we are at the last of the spring shows this coming Sunday (tomorrow), yes we are at Stamp Magic in Doncaster. The show is at the Doncaster Dome on Sunday, 10am -4pm.

I will be back at the dome to demo this time, having missed the last 2 shows. I will have a side kick demoing with me too.

Well actually I have 3 sidekick candidates! But I'm not going to know who is actually in the starting blocks until tomorrow morning!

Darcy has been really unwell the last 2 weeks, and she really has not been all that successful in shaking it off, so if she is not improved sufficiently, she will have to stay tucked up in bed and miss Doncaster!

So my first waiting-in-the-wings demonstrator is Sue Carrington. Sue planned to attend the show anyway for a look around with friends, so if Darcy does make it and runs out of puff and needs backup then Sue will be on hand for a couple of hours. Or if Darcy can't make it, then Sue will kick off the day with me from 10am.
Third-on-backup is our eldest daughter Courtney. She has demoed for us before, and is quite handy with paints, brayers and stencils, so she enjoys joining in on the demo desk as it breaks the routine of re-stocking paint, or working with Mark on the till!

Maybe you'll get a taste of all 4 of us!! But I'm pretty sure you will get 3 at the least!

We have lots of new things on the stand. Of course all the new stamps released earlier in the year. There are plenty of new stencils, both our own, and Crafter's Workshop.

We now have a huge range of gels and mediums from several companies: Golden, Prima's Finnabair Extravagance line, Ranger, Dreamweaver, and more!

There are plenty of Lindys Stamp Gang dye sprays. These are beautiful colours, permanent once dry, and the mica does not rub off either! Guaranteed not to clog.

We also have new Prima paper pads and coordinating embellishments from 3 of the recent 2015 collections.

That's just a small taste of what you will find on the PaperArtsy stand tomorrow. We hope you can make it and very much look forward to seeing you there!

Take care, Leandra

Autumn Show Dates and Events

Hi everyone, Leandra here

I have some info for both wholesale and retail customers with dates that you might like to pop in your diaries. Autumn is always a busy time, there are Craft shows on in the UK and beyond almost every weekendThe final quarter of the year for our industry (and all retailers) is always a busy one juggling all the events.

The following events are COMING UP for our wholesale customers:

Show: Craft Hobby and Stitch International (a Trade only event for qualified retailers)

This is a brand new show on the UK calendar.

You might often hear us talk about 'Stitches' at the start of every year, well this is the first ever mid year version of that show, where retailers from all over Europe can come to see what is new and currently available from Manufacturers, and Suppliers to Craft, Art and Hobby shops. We will have several brand new products to show, as well as all the new products we launched last week.

Where: Excel Centre, East London, PaperArtsy Stand: H07
Date: September 21/22 (Sunday/ Monday)

Event: CHA (UK) Retailer Training Day

Another new event on the UK calendar. Organised by our fairly new UK Craft and Hobby Association to give European retailers the opportunity to take part in a wide range of workshops offered by 10 of the UK's major manufacturers. Each manufacturer has their own classroom, and offers five 90 minute workshops over the course of the day.
Free for CHA members, or £50 for non members (includes buffet lunch)

Where: Holiday Inn Academy, Coventry
Date: Sunday, November 2nd, 08:45-18:00

The following events are coming up for our retail customers:

Event: The Big Stamp and Scrapbook Show (aka Ally Pally)

Always a busy show, and a wide variety of paper craft exhibitors who demo with the newest products available in the papercraft sector.

We will have 2 demo desks as usual, and this time there will be at least 4 people demoing on the PaperArtsy stand throughout the course of the show. With so many recent new products, and this being their first public airing, we need to show you as much as we can. Look out for Jo Firth-Young, Lin Brown, Leandra Franich, Liz Borer and Emma Godfrey.

Where: Alexandra Palace, North London, PaperArtsy Stand 56
Date: September 20/21 (Saturday 10:00-17:00 & Sunday 10:00-16:00)

Organised by volunteers from the local Craft Club, this show is one of the longest running in the UK. Only stamp retailers are allowed to exhibit, and every stand must sell different core lines. You must pre-purchase tickets by following the online link. We had a clash with another event at the start of the year (Happy Stampers unexpected moved the event from May to March) so we are happy to be returning to our usual spot for the October show.

Both Emma Godfrey and Leandra will be demoing this time so even more to see than usual!

Where: Hulme Hall, Port Sunlight
Date: Saturday October 4th, 10:00-16:00
(Thanks to Mass of Hair for photo above)

Event: Stamp Magic

We have only been doing this show in Doncaster for a couple of years, and we are developing a crew of regulars who love to come and see us oop north!

Another long running show for PaperCraft exhibitors well worth a visit. We always have 2 demonstrators on the stand ....yet to be confirmed as to whom exactly the demonstrators shall be this time but I'd put my money on Emma Godfrey and Darcy Wilkinson...{Leandra's collecting her Dad from the Eurostar that day....unless Ella passes her driving test before then...(fingers crossed)}

Where: Doncaster Dome
Date: Sunday October 19th, 10:00-16:00

Michelle Webb (front), Leandra (back)

Well that will take us through to the end of the year, we have significantly cut back on the number of shows we attend, so when we do get 'let out' it is absolutely wonderful to meet up with you all, answer product questions, and share tips and tricks with you.

Hope to see you soon!

Stamp Magic Craft Show {Donacster}

September and October are always crazy-busy months as the shops we supply go bonkers ordering and re-ordering for Christmas, their busy classes, and the extremely busy Autumn craft show schedules throughout Europe at this time of year. Of course we ship to shops all over the world, so every day there are boxes and boxes of PaperArtsy paints, stamps, grunge paste and other goodies heading all over the world from little PA HQ.
Despite all this caziness, this coming Sunday we are squeezing into the schedule the 'Stamp Magic' craft show held at the Doncaster Dome, in Doncaster. This will be our third time at the show, and we are fast developing some regular customers who like to see what we are up to, and all that's new.

In the spring I had the lovely Michelle Webb demoing beside me, and this time it's Darcy's turn. She will be weaving her magical methods with paint, and texture into her demos, so if you are near Donacster, do drop by to see how much fun we have on the stand and all the new stash we have to show you! Bound to be a little bit crazy. The blog boss chicky babe, Gillian will also be there to make sure the paint is restocked and to keep us all in check and on task. Good luck with that Gillian! LOL
And we have LOADS of new stock that keeps landing on the PA doorstep this autumn. I spent all of Saturday pricing up the latest big order that arrived in, so I have nice sneaky piccies to show you.
Many of you have either done classes, or have classes booked with the amazing Anna Dabrowska, also called Finn. Her brand 'Finnabair' is the name to look out for!

She has been producing lines with Sizzix and Prima for a couple of years, and personally, I think she is currently the hottest thing in the craft industry. Go check out her blog to see what she does. I was lucky enough to take a class with her a year ago in Cork, and I am delighted to say we have on the stand her entire Prima line. And wow, the prices GREAT compared to similar products we have seen in recent years!
She has flowers, metal embellishments, you can make the coolest things combining her products in all kinds of awesome ways. PLUS they look amazing sprayed with fresco paint, tickled with treasure gold, and that's just for starters! Here's an example from Finn's blog, you can see how frescos would work perfectly sprayed on too!
And you must check out these canvas resist journals and 12x12 resist sheets and borders from Prima too. These are perfect with frescos and the journal covers are kind of padded, so they are awesome with Finn's other items sewn or glued to the cover! Itching to play with these. See what Finn has done with them here on her blog, here's the example , below, lifted from her blog. I just love this, the texture, colour, resist, soooo much fun!
Flowers galore on the stand too, they make superb additions to any project, and I think these Bo Bunny packs have a nice mix of fabric and paper flowers in really useful colours.

Do you see the paintables below? Those are like watercolour postcards, vintage styley, that can again be sprayed or painted, inked and so on. Really good with frescos. And those boxes of wooden bellies flew the other week at Port Sunny, you get 6 each of each type in the box,and apply Treasure Gold directly to them for an instant metallic effect, or paint first then TG them!
We also have got some paper lines in. I'm really liking this Avenues collection from Bo Bunny, there is a cool mini chipboard album, and a journal with page inserts, dividers etc. These make great presents. I'm thinking the latter would be an awesome recipe book.
We also have some Christmas papers of a vintage feel in nice sepia tones, 12x12 pads, and some Prima 12x12 collection packs too. Heres another example below. It's been a comment I'm hearing a lot lately, that nice papers are hard to find, so I've been buying in some papers that I think have all kinds of uses.
Plus I got my hands on all kinds of the newest stencils from Crafters Workshop. IMHO they are the nicest stencils out there, the detail is really sharp, sometimes the insides of stencils can be jaggy because the original image quality is poor or the cutting method is not as good as it could be. I find CW are always smoothly done, and the imagery not too large making the stencil versatile for all kinds of sized projects. I have also ordered a bunch of stencils that Lin recommended I try from another lovely company, but I don't think they will arrive in time...fingers crossed! Still, there are plenty of others to choose from in the meantime, and anything new will go online in time for you to snaffle up some ASAP !
Plus, exciting news...some of you caught on twitter a tweet between Darcy and I <that I was supposed to send privately, tut, tut, tut..> regarding her Xmas stamps, so that secret was out of the bag a bit early! Lol. Hey ho....

So.... here is a sneaky snippet peek of the tiniest bit of one stamp on one plate.....
And here is a teeny tiny sneaky snippet from another stamp off the other plate....

Helpful...or not??? LOL

...suffice to say, she has designed 2 wonderful new stamp sets, {perfectly timed for Christmas, and her demos this weekend} ...and these stamps have fabulous elements that work perfectly with her existing stamps, and yet have a distinctive Xmas theme.
We have everything crossed that they will be ready for us to press a few and bring them to Doncaster. This is a bit of a challenge for a few reasons beyond our control that I won't bore you with, but I am staying positive that they will be available.

So, the show is on Sunday in Doncaster, details here....we really hope to see you there!

This weekend {Ally Pally} So much new stuff to show you!

Hi everyone

Well really struggling to keep my secrets this week as the most amazing stock has been pouring into HQ all week, so thought I would give you a sneek peek of what we will have on the stand at the show! Suffice to say, I think the stand will look the best it ever has, but then I might just be a bit more than HUGELY excited!!!

So first up the important thing - don't forget you are all welcome to come and meet us in the bar on site after the show closes Saturday evening for a drink! We are having our #tweetup while the traffic settles down, so come and join us. It's so nice to relax and catch up with everyone at the end of the first day and see what everyone has bought !!!

Second, Lin Brown will be demoing with me on Saturday, check out her show prep here... and Gillian Simson {our own Blog (phat) controller} has offered to demo on Sunday and that is going to be a lot of fun! Normally JoFY does the Sunday, but she will be off teaching the lovely people at Pink Tuilip Crafts! So we are looking forward to Gillian being around, she has been playing about a lot with spraying fresco paint, so she will be the queen of all things Finnabair and resist canvas .... see what she did at a recent Finn class here

I will be demoing with Darcy and Jo's new stamps, and doing anything else you ask of me!

So what ELSE have we got (as if that wasn't enough!!)

Well remember we have Darcys new stamps, the new JOFY stamps, the many new minis that last month's semester people launched in August, Lin's new stamps.

We also have new chipboard, tags, journals.

Lots of new wooden items for altering...so you know and expect most of that kind of thing from us....

But we (fingers crossed) should have all the new paints. We are expecting a delivery tomorrow, and its going to be tight getting it all bottled. This is what 72 Fresco paints is going to look like on the stand! What's new...well I'm going to make you wait...but we have some steely blues, a wicked sunshine yellow and tango orange, caramel and toffee....and more besides!

I also found this cool Kraft wrap that is only £2.50 for 2 rolls
And some Prima canvas sprayable journal covers, they are padded so you can sew onto them, and the insert pages to get you started...
Some old faves, and plenty of new stencils from Crafters Workshop, a crafter can never have too many stencils, and Crafter's Workshop are lovely quality, which is why we have been selling them for many years now!
Prima flowers galore, in neutrals for you to spray with fresco paint! And more resist canvas to spray with paint or dye inks.
 More flowers...told ya! LOL
Oh now, these Lin has been nagging me to order these for a while. I have about 40 different types of resin embellishments. they are huge to teeny-weeny. Flowers, birds, cameos ...and sooooo cheap...no need for costly mould and pour/ UTEE, these are the best price ever! We will be painting them, and tickling them with treasure gold, then using them as flower centres! Gorgeous!

But next.....Tadaaaaa the entire prima mechanicals line...and Anna Dabrowska (Finnabair's) sunrise-sunset embellishment range...so that's about 2 massive racks of this stuff. And you will NOT believe your eyes, nearly everything is £3.95 Such an awesome price I am thrilled, I had to check my calculations so many times, but its correct! Wahey!

I have been so excited about this range since I did a class with Anna October last year. She has created delicate, feminine embellishments that layer up perfectly, and can be used in so many ways. And now she has even more stuff this year that we have on the stand, can not wait to play with it! Some items are enormous. Look below...just £3.95 Don't miss out!
And Anna's stuff fits beautifully with other Prima items of the same genre, as below, and their resin bellies are beautiful with Fresco paint and TG....

I expect this stuff to go fast so don't miss out if items like these are on your list....

There is more...we have memory box dies, the new Fresco paints (12 colours), and I have another order arriving tomorrow with more journalling papers, pads, etc...Plus new chipboard large format white coated, also some lovely new large canvases....I keep thinking of stuff....but you get the drift....a LOT of stuff. I am not sure how we are going to fit it all on the stand!!!

See you there, Saturday and Sunday, Alexandra Palace, London, tickets and info here..

Leandra xx

An {extravaganza} .... In lots of ways!

If you don't know about, or haven't heard about this annual event at The Craft Barn, Surrey, UK, then you need to know! Every year Sandy and her amazing team put on this massive event, and its free! You just rock on up to see at least 25 demonstrators using all kinds of products from all kinds of companies. And then you can go to the shop and buy whatever you have seen demoed. It's a fantastic event, and a wonderful chance to chat to the demonstrators, ask questions etc. and its all happening next weekend, June 1st and 2nd.
As you may know, the Craft Barn has recently moved to a brand new location near Redhill, not too far from where they were previously in Lingfield. It's still a barn, but bigger, and newer, and full to the brim with all your favourite crafting products. The new address is The Craft Barn, Priory Farm, Sandy Lane, South Nutfield, Surrey RH1 4EJ ph 0844 800 8551 or 01737 822 961
There will be several very talented people demoing with PaperArtsy products: Lin Brown (her own Eclectica series of stamps dies, and a new product...see below..., Fresco paints, and Grunge Paste), Jo Firth-Young (with her own stamps, but specifically 3 new stamp sets, and 6 new minis, Frescos), Kay Carley (Jo's flower stamps with Copic Markers), Helen Chilton (Lynne Perrella stamps, Frescos & Grunge Paste), Di Oliver and Karen Gist (Tando Creative chipboard with Fresco paints and Lynne Perrella stamps) and Leandra (many PaperArtsy products and Treasure Gold).
This year we will be demoing in 3 marquees on site. Near the shop there is a fantastic farm shop selling amazing food, and across the road there is a Garden Centre with a superb cafe, but if I were you I would bring a packed lunch just in case those options are really busy. You don't want to miss out on your shopping time!!
So especially for this occasion, we have developed some very cool new products. We will have 2 limited edition colours of Treasure Gold, an amazing steel blue and a lovely green.
We have also got 6 sets of chipboard shapes, these match Lin Brown's Eclectica series of stamps, but as you can see from the product shots below, they are versatile for use with other stamps too!! In fact, they look fantastic with our Lynne Perella stamps too, and I can see Lin will be adding some personality to her flower arrangements with a few flower faces! You get 2 of each of the different shapes in a bag for £2.50
And Jo Firth-Young has also been a busy bee. She has developed 3 new sets of JOFY collection large stamp sets, and 6 new minis. These all come individually trimmed on EZ mount foam! More things for your wish list!!
The launch of all these products will be at the Craft Barn Extravaganza! So please, do come along and make it a fantastic occasion for Sandy and her team at this wonderful new location! It's going to be amazing.

It's next weekend, June 1st and 2nd I hope to see you there !

PS Don't forget that you have until NOON GMT tomorrow to link up your entry for this week's challenge as inspired by Carol Q.

I did say you might get something unexpected! so 2 people will be first in the world to get some of these new releases!!!!  After all, they won't be on our site for ages...we will let the shops have them first! Gotta be in to WIN!

I tell you what..... let's draw 4 prizes this week!!!  Woop woop!
