NEW PaperArtsy Release : Mattints & Stamps {Jan 2025}

A deliciously fluorescent vibe for this release, and something to add a bit of zing in your step! But this announcement isn't just Mattints, we also have a new in-house stamp line from PaperArtsy - something a bit more modern in style, so read on!

Leandra will be along to share with you LIVE to share these brand new products and ideas over in our Facebook Group, 'PaperArtsy People' shortly after this post publishes, and ... don't forget

These stamps are available EXCLUSIVELY from our approved stockists. Please check the list at the foot of this post to find a retailer online or geographically near you, it makes sense to order within your country where possible. Our retailers also endeavour to join the designer's live to share their direct shopping links - this makes it super easy for you to find a store with product in stock immediately.

Three new colours, Mojito, High Viz, Acid are here to get your summer vibe buzzing!
This takes us to 15 Mattints in total, and what a pretty rainbow it makes!
  • transparent colours, ideal for colouring in gently
  • buildable depth of colour, each layer adds a bit more colour
  • adhesive (for thin papers such as tissue)
  • a tint, to edit your layers
  • sealant, to protect or glaze
  • matte finish
  • wonderful partner product with infusions.
  • Mix into Fresco paints to add translucency
  • Water based, environmentally friendly, acrylic formula

PaperArtsy Mattints
Price: RRP €5.26 +VAT
Size:50ml (1.7 fl oz)
Transparent Matte Tint, Adhesive & Sealant

These 3 colours are quite pale with the first coat, they are at the 'lighter end of the rainbow' but they build with subsequent coats. The easiest way to get a deeper colour is to apply them to tissue paper as it really soaks into the paper, and when you then use the Mattint as a glue the intensity builds so fast, and deepens as they dry too.

Mojito (MT14)

Mojito is a gorgeous green, lime zing oozes from the page. And lime green contrasts with Jam so nicely, which is why I chose Jam for this frame!

Acid (MT15)

Acid is lemony yellow, very pale, like homemade lemonade or lemon meringue pie. You can see how the colour builds in depth when layered on tissue, a super absorbent surface.

High Viz (MT15)

High Viz is super difficult to photograph, it is a bit softer, and also a bit more pink than the images suggest. When it sinks into tissue, it's depth builds fast. I know i keep telling you that, but if you want to get fast results, buy some blank tissue to use with it!!

We all love a swatch, right .... can you anme all 15 colours, and BTW, it really IS a good idea to swatch your colours, because we never remember colour in our heads quite as they are in reality!

I even made the lids look pretty!

Here at HQ, we were inspired to bring something new into our in-house line of stamps. These designs have a modern, minimal aesthetic, and are going to become go-to basics for background building and layering, with accent elements useful for grounding collages, framing and more. Let's take a look.

Red Rubber Stamps (A5 set)
Price: RRP €23.00 +VAT
Size:5" x 6" (13 x16.5cm)
All stamps are individually trimmed onto cling foam, with a laminated storage/index sheet.

This set has a fabulous rainbow, that also doubles up as a texture, as a shape or pattern builder, the words are perfect for journalling.

Eclectica Paperartsy Set 01 (EPA01)

Dounia created this sample with layers of new Mattint-infused and stamped tissue paper, which really allows the colours to pop. The rainbows are stamped on kraft card as a contrast.

Here's a nice touch, the words from the quote separated to create a new focal. You can see how the arrow element and circles behind act as the 'grounding' for the collage.

An ombre, Mattint-shaded rainbow on a gel-printed stencilled background. The wiggle font is stamped around the edges.

The words on this tissue layer really pop

This set is all about pattern making and background layers, whether you want to use a contrasting colour for some pop, or stamp into texture paste, these patterns are indispensable tools for breaking a blank page, and adding structure in your under-layers.

Eclectica Paperartsy Set 02 (EPA02)

This is a fun way to use a honeycomb!

Dounia used this stamp to create a couple of peep through windows

Our intention with these designs was for them to be wonderful background builders, so for example, you can see in the examples below how easy it is to bespoke create paper, just with paint, and using paint directly on the stamps.

The least messy way to do this is to brayer out a thin patch of paint onto your craft sheet, then tap the stamp into it to pick up the paint, and print the stamp onto the cardstock.

You know how you are always looking for the perfect 'white' ink pad - look no more, here is the answer! Well actually I used Nougat on the sample belwo for the hexagons ... perfect!

Let me show you step by step a bit more clearly

First I brayer colours onto PaperArtsy Smoothy card, I actually started with black on this sample, then it was a mix of Lichen, Desert Bush, and Cloud 9. This creates a very grey-green background, a nice neutral. Onto this I started dark with the Desert Bush Paint and the large open circle design .. I have some tips on how to pattern match this pattern easily, so watch the LIVE in PaperArtsy People for those tips.

Next ....and this was the entire reason behind this particular stamp ...look at what happens when you stamp twice .... now you know why you want to watch the video above for this effect....I am sure you can figure it out yourself! It's just awesome!

...and then I usually go light in colour with a more intense pattern, for example script, or hexagons! So again, Cloud 9 was used at the edges for maximum contrast.
Finally I added some black into the residual Desert bush on my table mat to make the dots not full on black, but getting there! That's it, a 5 minute background!

This next set is all the fun things. Whether you need circles for spots and patterns, or lines for journalling onto, these elements are just fun! And who doesn't like an arrow or three!!

Eclectica Paperartsy Set 03 (EPA03)

I mentioned how the elements can ground a collage, and here is an example, the Hot Picks birds, the Lynne Perrella Bird lady, are grounded by the arrows layered, coloured.

The arrows alone make great background layers. This would be a cool gift tag.

These arrows are laid under a gel-printed background using the rainbows stencil. The quote is a Tracy Scott mini

And here's an example of lots of the stamps all used together, with an adorable Kate Crane mini ... are you getting the idea ??? It doesn't matter which stamp collection: vintage, quirky or patterned, these background designs and stamps are suitable for all genre/ designer lines to partner with! And that was the point of them!

PaperArtsy Stencils {Regular}
Price: RRP €5.64 + VAT
Regular Size: 6.5" x 7" (16 x 18cm)
Robust 250 micron mylar designed to offer longevity, deep texture and easy clean up

For this release we have 3 masks/stencils, perfect for use with gel plate to get some interesting patterns. I have made a tonne of gel printed backgrounds, and bits of those were used in some samples already shown, but in order to see the masks within the layers it is better to show some of those backgrounds as they camme off the gel plate below. These are ready to be amde into cards, tags etc like the one above.

PaperArtsy Stencil 447 (PS447)

I like to take prints, then clean off my brayer as I work on the print rahter than onto scrap paper. This way I build up a lot of prints in a fairly random way. Generally I choose 4-5 paint colours, some that contrast, but some that blend together to make other nice colours.

I like each print to contrast with the previous layer.

Electric Violet contrasts wonderfully with Bermuda, and Slimed. But you need some lighter colours too, so Blush, Cloud 9, Butter all were colours that were in the mix too. I was sorely tempted to add some Tango, but that can create some dodgy brown issues....so I restrained myself to the above picks (initially)

You can see above how excess green and blue was brayered directly onto the card over the print.  And below, sometimes i will jsut print a portion of the plate, to create a contrasting block of colour, these is fun with translucent paints as you can see what is below.

How about this idea? Doodling inside the lines!

Taking a print of the wet stencil is another idea for a more minimal vibe, Dounia starts with the print, then uses other stamped elements in this new collection to build up her rainbow world.

PaperArtsy Stencil 448 (PS448)

Speaking of rainbows, on this sample Dounia sponged white paint through the stencil rainbow onto kraft card for a nice contrast. I LOVE to use white through stencils too, it can be a great way to grab back control of a gel print session gone wild!

This sample below has some black and gold in the mix to create a stunning sparkle. (You need to see it IRL)

Every now and then, as you use the same colours over and over, you begin to figure out what you prefer, and the colours that bounce off each other beautifully. I was fixated on purple and green, but then black came into the mix too! Gel prints really is about the push and pull of dark vs light colours.

As soon as ypu chop up this sample, you end up with a whole new series of backgrounds, and that always sparks new ideas about how to use the sample created. Gel-printing can be frustrating initially, you have to just keep going, and work on a lot of pieces of card at the same time, then you figure out what is good, or not so good, and eventually you understand how to edit fix things you prefer less.

PaperArtsy Stencil 449 (PS449)

This stencil can be so pretty and delicate, you need to explore dark and light colours and continually take prints, until you figure out the kind of result you prefer. I loved it most when you get the delicate outline.

But, this stencils is a tale of 2 halves, you can get a delicate lace effect OR this bolder background as Dounia created below, that is pretty handy!

Dounia managed to use both options in the one sample below, can you spot the layers?

Yes, that was a long TWOFER, but rather than drag out for 2 nights of lives, it made more sense to just give you the whole lot in one go!

Thankyou for joining us today, thankyou for supporting your independent retailers in the area near you, we have been shipping to them these for the past 2 weeks, so everything new is widely available to buy from our stockists now.
