A note from Leandra:
Jo was on a roll when designing her February Release (see here), with her bold geometric patterns contrasting with the glorious florals. These stamps are a continuation of that vibe, intended to be able to mix and match with ease, should you wish. The stencils this time are 'regular' size, and offer adorable background spots, flowers and foliage for easy layering options with your paints, stamps, cut floral elements and foliage layers.

Don't forget Jo will be along to share with you LIVE her new products and ideas over in our facebook Group, PaperArtsy People shortly after this post publishes. I hope you can drop by or catch the replay. It's nice to hear direct from the designer about the new release and put a face to the name!
For the next 4 months, these stamps are only available EXCLUSIVELY from our approved stockists. Please check the list from the dedicated home page tab on the blog, From our bio link on Instagram, or at the foot of this blog post.
Hi everyone, Jo (www.jofy.co.uk) here to share with you my newest release for PaperArtsy. I have 3 new stamps sets and 3 stencils.
I've been trying to think how I would sum up (or what I would call) this release... and I've decided on 'Petals and Positivity' (I love a bit of alliteration!). Each set has different flowers, and two have positive affirmation that are perfect for cards and journaling.
I've been trying to think how I would sum up (or what I would call) this release... and I've decided on 'Petals and Positivity' (I love a bit of alliteration!). Each set has different flowers, and two have positive affirmation that are perfect for cards and journaling.
I may have taken the 'I just want to make pretty things' phrase quite literally when creating samples for this release! There's nothing wrong with a bit of prettiness and its something I'm seeing all around me here in the UK as our gardens are starting to bloom as we move into summer. Gorgeous deep pinks, peach and greens - so inspiring I'm sure you'll agree.
The majority of my samples and projects for this release have been made using Frescos and a gel plate - a fantastic combination!! I love how the paints work on the gel plate and how fast it dries, and how different all the prints are! So inspiring!
I've used tags as the substrate for many of my samples (I do love a tag!) - its fun to work on something other than cards... but don't worry all the pieces I'm showing you today can be adapted for cards or journal pages.
Lets take a look.
These flowers were inspired by tulips, and I added a touch of doodling for interest and colouring opportunity.
I created this sample on a background gel print made with new stencils - PS330 & PS331.
The phrase on this set ready 'I just want to make pretty things' but in my garden I just want to grow pretty things - my ideal garden would have borders filled with big juicy peonies, towers of hollyhocks and foxgloves. With this in mind I altered the phrase and added the word 'grow' from JOFY97 - perfect.
This sample, layered up on tags, brings together stamps from a couple of this release's stamp sets - the lovely squiggle border & tulip from JOFY113 teamed with the sketched flower of JOFY114
This phrase can be used in so many situations...
Its really effective to have a single coloured motif among similar black and white images - simple and striking, less is more.
This has to be THE 'prettiest' sample I made for this release - it makes me smile so much! I wanted to showcase the smaller elements of the stamp set - the flower/spot cluster, the sketched flower and the loopy border (I LOVE the loopy border!). The colour scheme (pink), the glittery embossing powder, spots, tags, die cuts and new stamps - this sample is ticking all the right boxes!
I wanted to show how the (relatively small) single sketched flower can be the focal point of the piece.
In this photo I've show how the flower/spot cluster can be used as a straight border (down the right hand edge of the tag) and as curved border (following the line of the sketched circles).
Oh my goodness - lovely big modern blooms!! In bright pink!! Totally swoonworthy! lol
On this sample I wanted to show you how you could layer up the petals to create even bigger blooms - the centre flower has been created using several layers of the smaller flower but the larger flower could be used just as easily. Gorgeous. These flowers are going to be perfect for using to create cards or home decor pieces.
The phrase on this project comes from JOFY115.
I have created my flower flush but the next time I created these I'm going to separate the layers with 3d foam to give it even more presence and depth.
Its probably hard to tell from the photographs but the tags I've used for several of these projects are quite large. The base tag below is 8 1/2 x 4 inches (21.5 x 10.5 cm) - a really nice size to work on.
I created a patchwork background using papers printed with the stamps in this set. Its a lot of fun to create backgrounds using a gel plate with stamps - so many options and variations! And gel prints are a nice surface to stamp on to because they have a smooth printed surface.
This colour scheme feels quite modern and bold - the hot pink is both toned down and popped by the black stamping... how fab does the loopy border look running down the edge of the tag!!
JoFY Collection Set 115 (JOFY115)
Stamp set JOFY115 is more delicate than JOFY114, & I feel the elements lend themselves really well to layering as shown in the sample below.
I used the 3 flower cluster to create an all over pattern on a tag...,
..the squiggly stem (love a squiggly stem!) creates a focal motif.... and the diecut word 'be' has been added to the phrase to create an affirmation/encouragement.
I gel printed a tag using PS331 and used it as the background for the 3 flower cluster - I mounted this on postcard but it can easily be adapted to a card or journal page.
Those spots are perfect for adding embellishments - glitter, buttons, gems - or even punching holes to reveal the layer underneath.
This sample is SO summery and tropical (I think it's the colours)... I brought in the foliage stem from JOFY113 to use with the flowers (cutting it down and spreading it among the flowers.
While I was making my samples I realised I was mixing and matching the sets all the time - they work so nicely together, and the same with the stencils.
While I was making my samples I realised I was mixing and matching the sets all the time - they work so nicely together, and the same with the stencils.
These flowers will look great stamped onto patterned papers and combined with previous flowers - lots of options to think about.
I decorated the centre of the flower above with gel pen dots and gems, and on the one below with gel pen stamens and gems - its nice how those subtle change can alter the look of the flower.
This would make a great journal page...
PaperArtsy Stencil 329 (PS329)
Earlier in the year I designed a large spotty stencil without edges and I love it and the more I used it the more I thought it would be great to have a smaller version - and here it is!
This stencil is a really nice background (I used it A LOT on my samples for this release!) - it lovely to use with inks or with paints on a gel plate as you can see in the photos below - the first photo shows a clean up print which has transferred a print of the actual stencil (in blue paint), and in the second photo you can see the spots (pink) that are created.
In the photo below are gel prints from a run of pulled prints - great to see all the changes in these simple one layer prints - perfect to use as they are or as a substrate for further prints.
PaperArtsy Stencil 330 (PS330)
This stencil is a lot of fun! Perfect for using on its own with a lovely big die cut sentiment, or doodled into (zentangled) or as a subtle tone on tone base for stamping or journal pages.
These tags have been gel printed with the stencil - on the left is the print and on the right is the clean up print.
PaperArtsy Stencil 331 (PS331)
I designed this stencil to have lots of open space, its a really nice gentle background when used with a tone-on-tone colour scheme or striking when used with bright juicy colours as in the first photo.
Project: Tag-a-licious Tulips
Next I stenciled leaves across the centre of the page (offsetting it slightly) using PS331. Once the paint was dry I added highlights with a white gel pen. I stamped 3 tags with the tulip stems (JOFY113) and added shading.
Using a white pencil I drew a rectangle inside the stencil area and added washi tape under where the tags would be mounted.
I threaded the tags with patterned ribbon and attached them to the page with 3dfoam.
I hope you've enjoyed the samples I've created for this release - I think its a happy, flowery & positive release.
I'd love to see what you make with the stamps - if you'd like to share your creations then you can do so in the PaperArtsyPeople & JoFY Jamboree groups on FB - we LOVE to see what you.
Take care
