NEW PaperArtsy Products: Lynne Perrella Collection {Feb 2020} Part 1 with Jenny Marples

 Lynne Perrella Collection
February 2020 New Product Announcement

A note from Leandra:
Last year I commissioned Lynne to create some new designs for us, always an exciting period to see what she develops, she carries out extensive research which tends to tempt her muse in a certain direction. She immersed herself in the process, and the result was her inimitable style of gorgeous stamps, a few more than usual, so I decided to split them into two releases. This is the second of those. I absolutely adore the glass elements from the cloche, terrarium and bottle references, and I also love how she uses repeat imagery in different ways to tie in with previous stamps. It is almost like we get to know her 'girls' and the adventures they get up to. We have 2 posts this evening to share some initial ideas with these, I think you will really like them! Oh and we have 2 posts for you tonight with these stamps, so stay tuned for another announcement

Hi everyone, Jenny Marples (Pushing The Right Buttons) here.

I'm super excited to share with you idea with this new release for PaperArtsy.

Now this is a well worn phrase but I can truly say this latest release from Lynne Perrella is on my all time favourites list. You know you are going to love stamp sets when the ideas for using the images immediately come to mind and you can't wait to start playing. There are lots of options for simple one layer stamping on cards, journals, tags etc. because the detail in each design is so intricate. And then if you like multi dimensional projects (boxes, books, canvases, etc) there's plenty of scope for shaping and layering the bottles, butterflies and terrariums.

  New Stamps
Price: RRP £18.74 +VAT
Size:5" x 6" (13 x16.5cm)
All stamps are individually trimmed onto cling foam, presented in a clear hanging bag
with a laminated storage/index sheet.

Lynne Perrella Collection Set 044 (LPC044)

Although this is a card it could also easily be used a bookmark or collage piece, incorporating a piece of formerly broken jewellery and with the design extended at the bottom using the script section.

Lynne Perrella Collection Set 045 (LPC045)

Stamping the small bottles on acetate for this card helps to allow the background to shine through and replicates the look of clear glass. You could also use translucent paints, alcohol inks or markers on the reverse to give them an aged look.

Lynne Perrella Collection Set 046 (LPC046)

This little card incorporates textures and layers to emphasise the design, with clear embossing, stitching, and beads from another broken necklace in soft, pastel shades. The image could also be shaped and rounded for even more dimension.

Snippet Roll

As a project incorporating all three of the new sets I made my take on a snippet roll which can be created using up those scraps from finished projects we all have 'saved for later'.

I started from scratch for this one, using a brayer with a selection of Fresco Finish Pains and the lighter weight Super Smoothy Card to create a set of four colourful strips ready for chopping up. Note; these are the colours used for all the cards shared today - the eagle eyed amongst you may notice the now retired Dusty Teal in that line up (used before the announcement was made). This can be substituted for Pine Grove if you want to replicate the look from this tutorial.

Having embossed the 'stamp' images from LPC045 onto brown paper I brushed diluted Golden Sands Infusions over the top to draw out the designs further.

Onto a torn strip of calico cotton I added strips of the painted card and embossed paper using simple zig zag stitching to hold them in place. It may be easier to see at this stage how you could incorporate any leftover scraps from your own previous projects to do the same.

Above you can see how bits of lace, book paper, fabric and more stitching were also incorporated.

Finally I repeat stamped the large butterfly from LPC044 and smaller stamp image from LPC046 in permanent ink onto more Super Smoothy Card, cutting them up and stitching them onto the roll. With the addition of a few buttons and beads and some hand sewing, the 'fabric' strip was ready to be attached to a wooden spool (painted with Vintage Lace Fresco Finish Paint). Here are some close ups of the finished snippet roll;

These are just a few ideas to whet your appetite and hopefully demonstrate how well Lynne's latest designs will work with any number of styles and projects.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
