NEW PaperArtsy Products: ZinskiArt by Elena Guzinska {February 2020}

 Zinski Art Collection {by Elena Guzinska}
February 2020 New Product Announcement

A note from Leandra:
We all love a bit of Zinski action, it's the cheeky expressions that win my heart over every time! They put a smile on your face and the words she conjures up are always totally perfect. Of course Lauren is on hand to add her own twist with some cheeky additions, and fabulous cross-collection mash ups - the perfect example -  just look at the photo above which uses Courtney's Liverpool Street tube sign (I remember the day she took the photos of that wall!) withJoFY's 'Boys Rule' graffitti and the new Zinski somewhat-shady-looking bloke! I'll hand over to Elena and Lauren to fill you in on the nitty gritty!

Hi everyone, Elena here  Elena ZinskiArt on facebook

I'm so happy to share with you my newest release for PaperArtsy; 8 Zinis and 3 stamp sets.

The Zini's are a little different this time around. There's always been a lot of choice for female images and a bit of a struggle to find male ones so I thought I'd do a boy vibe and I'm really happy with how these dudes came out. I wanted them to be lovable but cool. Spring is around the corner so there's rabbits and bugs ready to do some hopping and buzzing in sunny journal pages and cards, i think they're cute with a touch of humour thrown in, well that was my aim and they'll all fit in nicely peaking out amongst foliage, dancing with daffodils or hiding behind eggs at Easter time.

Lauren, as always, has done an amazing job in showing you some ideas, incorporating other PA stamps that all go together so well. You can also see plenty of activity on PaperArtsy's Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest. (links at the foot of this post) So no matter what your preferred social media platform, we will be sharing with you!

Let's check out these new beauties with some ideas from each set and a couple of projects.

  New Zini Stamps

An older Zinksi house looks like its ready for this guy to move in and to call hoome

Zoom, Zoom! Just makes me feels tired watching this one speed by...

Bugs happy to get letters from this new postie!

A mix of old, new and bugs living in harmony!

Classic bad Hare Day!

Here he is. Slightly intimidating, but i bet he's a big softie on the inside.

I think we all can see these guys are a bit edgier and I love that about them. They are loads of fun, hugely versatile and I found it really easy to team them with other characters or collections from other designers! Seriously cool! You are going to love them.

New A5 Stamp Sets
Price: RRP £18.74 +VAT (A5)
Size: A5 stamp set 5" x 6" (13 x16.5cm)

Zinski Art Set 53 (ZA53)

She's sick of carrots, and definitely has other plans in mind!

I think this plate is perfect for story telling. As soon as I saw it I could see a whole host of scenarios playing out. A great set for journalling and card making alike. And can I just say how much I love that carrot stamp. It is such a useful addition. Love it!

Zinski Art 54 (ZA54)

Are these not the happiest Hares you ever did see? Seriously this guy has me grinning from ear to ear. Another full of fun selection of characters for all those spring and summer projects.

Zinski Art Set 55 (ZA55)

The flowers quote is from a much earlier set, but those Zinski petals always add the right embellishing touch to any card.

The snail is from this plate too, but as you can see, he's happy to ooze into any scene where flowers are involved. And he likes mail!

Super Cute, super versatile.

I LOVE these bugs. As with all Elena's images, they are cute but edgy and super adaptable (the wings were made using the flower from ZA09 in case you were wondering). With spring and summer approaching I think these will hardly be off my desk.

Project One: Bee My Honey

I've made a little frame with a bouncing bee on a wire

First I painted a die cut greyboard frame with Elephant Fresco Finish Paint, which is a gorgeous mid grey colour. Because it's an opaque chalk paint, no undercoat required and two coats covered the frame perfectly.

Now you paint two pieces of Heavy Smoothy card, one with Toffee and one with Haystack. Again, I used two coats of paint but one might do it. I tend to use two to be sure I've filled in any gaps and evened out any patchiness. I love this colour combination. Now I'm afraid here I got so involved with my project that I forgot to photograph the next stage which was to die cut a honeycomb pattern from the Toffee coloured card. You could, of course stencil or stamp a honeycomb pattern onto the yellow card too.

Next I attached the die cut to the yellow piece of card and spread over a fairly thick layer of clear crackle glaze with my finger. You can see I floated a small die cut heart in one of the honeycomb cells too. I really like that little touch.

And finally I added my bees. I had a small dilemma here as I wanted the give the bees different characters so I coloured the first bee with Copics and then for the second bee I added a little bit of distress by pressing my finger onto the card before stamping and embossing the image. What this does is ensure the embossing powder sticks to the oil from your finger print so that when you colour over it you get a distressed look. I used slightly darker colours too and though it's only a subtle difference, it does give them different personalities. I know it's sad but I think about these things - LOL. I used florist's wire wrapped round a pencil to make my spring and attached it to my bee with glossy accents.

Project Two: Boys Rule Ok

What a Dude! Well HE thinks he is anyway.... I've made this as a card and it was pretty quick to put together using some stamps from other PaperArtsy Designers.

So first I grabbed my stamps and a piece of 10x10cm Heavy Smoothy card.

Next I stamped the Liverpool Street stamp from ECF02 in dark brown and Boys Rule OK from JoFY43 in Red just left of centre on the Smoothy card.

I stamped our Dude twice onto a separate piece of Regular Smoothy and coloured him in with my Copic Markers and Prismacolour Pencils. A little stamp surgery was required as I wanted to raise his head up using foam pads just to make him stand out a bit better. So on one image I coloured just the head and the other I coloured just the body. Then it was a case of matting the whole thing together before sticking it onto my card.

The last step was to distress the edge of the card using some Walnut Stain Distress Crayon applied by rubbing the colour from my craft matt onto the edges of the card with my finger. Then I scuffed the edges of the card by rubbing the blade of my scissors along the edge of the card before matting and layering onto some patterned paper and coloured card from my stash before adding a stitched border.

Project Three: Thanks a Bunch

The carrot stamp from ZA53 really appeals to me and I am loving all the wrap around cards I'm seeing on the internet so I thought I would combine the two to make a very quick and easy thank you card.

I had an off-cut of Heavy Smoothy card measuring 30x14.5cm which I thought would make a great card so first I stamped my carrots randomly across the whole piece of card and then coloured them in using three distinct layers of colour with a layer of white across the top as a highlight. This is a bit of a departure for me from my usual style and I really loved how it turned out.  I used Butternut, Tango and Coral (apologies for the dirty paint labels; these are three of my favourite colours so they are well loved).

Finally, I added some splodges of green to break up the white further using a stencil and some Distress Ink before folding the card in half with an acrylic folder for a nice crisp crease. Then added a sentiment. Simple but effective.

Now, at this stage, I realised I hadn't stamped the carrots off the page and this does make a real difference visually so I went back in and stamped a partial carrot image over the edge of the card. It's the little things...LOL. Job done!

I hope you all like my new Zini's and I'm sure you were inspired by Lauren's samples, i think my favourite is the dude at Liverpool Street Station. We love seeing all the wonderful things you guys make so please share your projects on the social media pages. Love and hugs. Elena :) x
