Eclectica³ Kim Dellow

Last year Kim brought us her modern minimalism with a splash of retro. If you have been following her Friday Art Slice videos, then these stamps will seem very familiar to you as it is that kind of style she encapsulates so well here too.

Her assistant sample-makers have created some wonderful projects, and it's easy to see how versatile they will be for cards to journals, tags and more.

I'm so refreshed by Kim's style, and her masks are going to be my go-to with gelli plates that is for sure! Well done Kim, you really have created a gorgeous array for us to enjoy!

Hi Guys, it is Kim Dellow with my amazing wingmen Michelle Short and Anneke De Clerck to showcase my latest designs for the PaperArtsy February 2017 release.

This time around I've gone super-floral for PaperArtsy! As Leandra mentioned in her introduction, I have been sharing a few of my circle flower themes over on Instagram for both my weekly Art Slice video share and they have also been cropping up in my Daily Drawing exercise from time to time. A few folks, including Leandra of course, have said that they would like them as stamps so here we are! I designed a set just for PaperArtsy and I hope that you enjoy them! 

So it's with great pleasure I would like to share with you what my wingmen have made with this new release. Both Michelle Short and Anneke De Clerck are uber-talented and I am massively grateful to them both for agreeing to make samples for this new release. Please do spread some bloggy love and visit there blogs for more of their samples!

First up is Michelle.  

Michelle is the Queen of Clean and Simple and I am totally in love and amazed with how she can make minimal design look so striking. If you have tried it then you will know that it really isn't as easy as she makes it look. So now let's hear from Michelle about her makes and this new release:

I love all of the little details in the sets, the hand sketched style drawings, as well as the ability to combine the stamps together from different sets.

I love working with Kim’s stamps. I am a big fan of florals so these appealed to me straight away.

The stamps themselves are excellent quality and stamp exceptionally well. They are a real pleasure to use. 

Next up we have Anneke.

Anneke's colour combining is to die for and I haven't told her this yet but the paint colours I chose for this release were totally inspired by her. I'm also in love with her layering, just wonderful and perfect for these designs. Let's hand over to Anneke for her take on these designs and her makes:

Kim's masks are very versatile: excellent to create layered backgrounds with but great to use as focal images too!

Love the flowers as well, their modern design fits my style perfectly! I’m a fan :)

So my turn and I have two projects to share: one as a step-out project and one as a video.

'All The Little Things' by Kim Dellow

For this make I used layers of colour through stencils and a small cluster of stamped elements to make the focal point.

Step One: Building up colour layers is fun with the Fresco Finish paints and I used a layer of China through the PS046 stencil over a layer of the Banana, Bubble Gum and Coral. I love the hot and cold colours together.

Step Two: I wanted to add some strong elements to the background as a contrast to the bright colours so used the small flowers from the PS048 stencil set as a template to draw the flowers in black onto the background.

Step Three: To finish the make I used stamps from EKD06 on painted cardstock, cut them out and organised them into a layered focal point with a sentiment from my first release EKD02.

I've put together a video to show the process behind my large flower journal page. Oh and spot a cameo from my studio assistant, aka Usagi (one of my cats), in this video.

Oh my, what a cheerful start to our February 2017 releases! I am a huge fan of Kim's stamps. last weekend I got to play with them myself, and they are so easy for quick backgrounds, but the real fun starts when you explore the layers that the stencils and stamps can offer together!
