Joanne Wardle Project #2 Bagelope With Elf Tag ....

"Hi everyone, Joanne here. Today I wanted to play with the lovely elf from the Squiggly Ink collection. I thought it was the perfect size to make a simple tag. I also wanted to make a simple gift bag for little presents or even those credit card sized gift vouchers, this bagelope is the perfect size for that".

I simply stamped the elf which is from Nut Meg 7 in Versafine Black Ink directly onto a Paperartsy #10 Manilla Tag, then again onto Heavyweight Smoothy Stamping Card.

I then stamped the image again onto a post-it note and cut out to make a mask.

I stamped with the “elves are in the house” words from the same stamp set, with brown ink.

And then removed the mask.

I then coloured the elf's face with markers and also the hat that is stamped onto white card.

I cut out the hat and attached it with 3D foam, voila that's the tag done....

But what to attach it to? I love making bagelopes (a bag made from an envelope)

I'm sure there are better instructions than mine on the internet, but here's my quick instructions. Take an C6 envelope (I always have loads of these spare from all the prefolded cards that I buy and then ruin the cards). Seal the envelope ....

Then score ½ inch in from one short side and both long sides.

Trim the other end to form the opening.

Push the bag out from the inside then form the base and sides as shown.

Pop in your gift ....

Fold over the edge ....

Then punch some holes.

For a bit of a fun touch I also stamped the elf feet onto white card, coloured and cut them out and glued them in place under the fold.

Finally I attached the tag to the bag with some lovely PaperArtsy Lace.

I will be back with my final GD project tomorrow evening, where has the time gone!
Joanne x
