I'm
handing you over to Leandra and Keren who are my able assistants to
wrap up this post with a few more ideas for you to ponder. Keren kicks
it off with the Valentines set of stamps...
Hi all, Keren here.
I
was so inspired with the JoFY sets- they are so perfect for quick makes
or something more substantial. I love that you don't have to overthink,
the images make a complete design come together quite quickly.
Jo Firth-Young Set 86 (JOFY86)
JoFY
86 is going to be a really useful set. I just love the text and quote
and can see lots of journals decorated with these images. Even if you
don't 'do' Valentiney projects, there's plenty to inspire here.
Here's
a super quick project using a cork notebook and adding a sewn notebook
bookmark. I used some Austen word fabric and hope that Shakespeare and
Austen are happy coexisting on the same project! It doesn't look overly
love themed but makes a great quick gift.
The
JoFY 85 set has a topiary tree (that could be turned into a snowman!)
with a big long stem- I wanted a smaller card so just concertinaed the
trunk, but you could easily shorten it by chopping a section off at the
top of the trunk and reattaching!
I didn't add a sentiment, but I adore the sentiments in JoFY84, so it's definitely worth getting both of these sets.
The
second image in the JoFY 85 set reminded me of how most of us feel
coming up to Christmas (in a bit of a whirl) ! I do love a bit of fussy
cutting and I really wanted to add a cheeky face, but didn't want to
spoil Jo's lovely artistry! Again, there's not much that you need to add
to the card other than a sentiment so perfect for the batch making that
we all seem to need to do as time runs short!
JoFY
84 is nudging to the front for my favourite of the newest sets, and
mostly because I'm all about times-aving. My brain said 'yes'! when I
realised that Jo had designed a complete card front in one fell swoop.
If you've got a stamp positioner, then recreating the same card is going
to be a cinch! It's going to look amazing with a painty background or
gorgeous heat embossed and watercoloured..so many options!
I'm
always looking for simple ideas for a little home décor project and I
thought the trees in this set would make cute place cards. Let's hope I
can make a few more before Christmas or there will only be 2 of my kids
sitting down for lunch!
I hope you get your hands on these new JoFY sets; you won't be disappointed! ~ Keren
Just a couple of super quickie samples from Leandra to share too...
First
up I can see so many ways these boxes intended for text can be used in
backgrounds to great effect, especially if you are wanting fast cards,
or CAS cards.
Pretty
self explanatory, stamp the boxes, a wash of Fresco (Cayenne to be
precise), then over-stamp the words. You can see I wasn't even that
careful about staying within the lines. (Late night colouring without
the good light on! )
Same
idea as above, but added effort. Each block painted with Aquamarine,
and the little tree and star from the large stamp on JOFY84.
Just
adding a little bit of graduation add some interest, I toyed with the
idea of setting them vertically, but as I wanted to use the text in one
of the boxes, went horizontal as the more logical option. I think it
could certainly do with some glitter as a JOFY Christmas tribute!
~ Leandra
I
hope these stamps and samples inspire you to start creating for the
holidays I've designed for - they are such a lot of fun - don't forget
to break our the googly eyes and glitter! I look forward to seeing what
you create.
Thanks to Leandra and Keren for creating gorgeous projects for this blog post ... it's appreciated so much!
Happy holidays!!
