NEW PaperArtsy Products: Tracy Scott {January 2022}

A note from Leandra:

Tracy is absolutely amazing at bringing you designs that are deliberately 'open', so that you can do many different things with them. Not only within these new sets, but with her back-catalogue too! Mix and match, layer and so on.

Tracy always 'wows' us with the basic patterns she creates, and in this post, she shares a lot of those initial experiments in B&W so that you can see exactly the type of combinations possible.

Remember, these stamps are available EXCLUSIVELY from our approved stockists for the next 3 months. It really makes most sense to buy products locally within your country, please see the stockist list and links at the bottom of this blog post or in the 'stockists' tab at the top of the blog page.

Tracy will be live in PaperArtsy People to share her samples and ideas shortly after this post publishes, and our stockists will be there to share their links too!

Hi everyone, Tracy here

I'm here today to share with you my latest new release for PaperArtsy and the first one for 2022...
Today I have 3 sets of stamps and 3 stencils to share with you and I hope you love them all as much as I do.
So as most of you know (and of course for those who don't !) ... very often, when I receive new stamps I like to have a play with them in my sketchbook, just to get a feel for them and see what they can do. My 3 sets today were no exception, so I'm going to show you some of my sketchbook play and then some projects that I created with each set of stamps and then we will move on to the stencils.....

So grab a cuppa or a glass of something nice and read on for some creative inspiration...

Price: RRP €21.92 +VAT      Size:5" x 6" (13 x16.5cm)
All stamps are individually trimmed onto cling foam with a laminated storage/index sheet.

Tracy Scott Set 066 (TS066)

When I started designing this set, my initial thought was architectural medallions. I have long admired that kind of design on and in older buildings and was something I had thought about exploring for quite some time.

But of course, as often happens,  my ideas went in a slightly different direction. Once I had designed a couple of medallions my mind started to think about how they would work in my art journal and how to get the most use out of them...

In my new product FB lives, I often share my initial pattern play ideas with new stamps, so before I share some actual samples, here are just some of the pages I made when testing out these new designs. I will often stumble across a pattern I had no idea would be possible!

So let's take a look at what happens when you add colour to the image, and place them on a painted, stencilled background. You can add depth shading and really emphasise the patterns so clearly.

Tracy Scott Set 067 (TS067)

My initial thoughts for this set was to create a butterfly mandala.... I love butterflies and I love a mandala right!... so it seemed the obvious choice!

And then I thought that would be a real waste as you would only get one or two stamps in the whole set (first world problems I know!!) so I started thinking about how I could achieve what I wanted and give maximum amount of options at the same time....

Tadaaaa I give you the butterfly mandala sections!!! Genius right (even if I do say do myself hahahahaha!)

These can be used to create mandalas, patterns and used on their own as simple butterfly focal stamps...

I am in love with this set..... and as you will see the patterns that emerge are so beautiful!

Once again, when you add colour the magic starts to happen...

Or, sticking with the elegant black and white idea, look at how one of the butterflies can be used alone as the focal point...

Tracy Scott Set 068 (TS068)

My final set of stamps for this release... fancy circles!! Yes I know we all love a circle don't we?.. well I do anyway.

I wanted to create a set of circle frames and then as I started to design the idea started to change shape.....

So I ended up with interchangeable circles, can be used as frames, to create patterns, or just stackable circle elements..... I really love the versatility of this set....

I love this black white and gold combo, the embossing powders add a nice shine along with the gold !

Large Stencil Size: 6.25" x 9.5" (16 x 24cm) Price: RRP €6.28 +VAT

PaperArtsy Stencil 305 (PS305)

This is the first of my stencils for this release and we are going with a floral theme for this one.
I had a specific idea in mind when designing this one, I wanted to be able to not only use it as a regular stencil but wanted to be able to use it as a doodling template!.... I love to doodle flowers and rather than create stamps which would only give one option for each shape, I decided that basic flower shapes n different sizes would work perfectly to add endless visual possibilities...
I had so much fun playing with this one...

Using the stencil as a template is a wonderful way to start your doodles...

PaperArtsy Stencil 306 (PS306)

Next up we have the half-petal stencil.... Again I've kept the openings nice and big so that they can be used as a template for doodling, colouring or cutting and of course by only creating a half stencil means that by flipping it around I can create something twice the size, and having the extra larger petals too means that it can be extended out even further.

PaperArtsy Stencil 307 (PS307)

So my last stencil for this new release is a quarter mandala stencil.... well actually it's four quarter mandala stencils!
Again the idea was that if I only create a quarter of the pattern onto the stencil then each piece can be used to build up larger designs.

Of course they can be used as a regular stencil with paints, grunge past etc but of course as always I like to thing of other ways my products can be used.

This one works well for drawing, doodling and as a cutting template for those lace look journal pages or cards....

Fresco Price: RRP €4.58 +VAT          Size:50ml

As a reminder, here are the 24 shades in Tracy's Fresco Paint line...

Thank you so much for joining me again for the latest release, I truly appreciate your being here and don't forget that I will be going 'live' in the PaperArtsy People Facebook Group at 7:30PM BST to share these samples and maybe a few more!!!

Take care
Tracy
