A note from Leandra:
I just love the serenity and delicacy of these designs by France. They ooze calm and contentment, and goodness knows that is something we all can appreciate right now after the seasonal festivities have not long come to a close and we look ahead to what the New Year brings.

Learning how to process our emotions, concerns and anxieties is a big part of how we have managed to try to cope with the pandemic, and I am sure that France and her longstanding ethos to create in a 'meaningful and mindful' way is such a soothing and practical technique to consciously bring yourself into the right 'head space'. I find this really can help me to face difficulties with improved confidence, purpose and strength.
I really love how France has so much movement in these designs from her symbolic 'butterfly/ papillon' mascot, and I am wowwed by how she has used paint in such a clever and delicate way to add depth to a simple flat stencil. We are so fortunate to partner with designers who are incredibly skilled and happy to share their tips and tricks with you all!
France will be sharing these stamps live in PaperArtsy People shortly after this post publishes. It brings stamps to life when you connect with the person behind the designs, it helps so much to have a peek inside the head of the designer. Hearing direct their thoughts on each new release is always enlightening, so I hope you can find some time to join her either for the LIVE or on the replay.
Remember, these stamps are available EXCLUSIVELY from our approved stockists for the next 3 months. We encourage you to buy from a stockist within your country, to save on freight costs, and support independent retailers in your home nation. You can find the recent list and links at the bottom of this blog post, or from the tab at the top of the blog home page.
I hope you really enjoy checking out these new products today, don't forget to leave a comment for the designer at the foot of the post.

Hi everyone, France here
I'm super excited to share with you my newest release for PaperArtsy. 3 stamps and coordinating stencils.
This release continues the trend set in the previous collection, which was all about zen-attitude. This time, it is focusing on yin yang: how contrary forces are present in everything and how they compliment each other, and how, throughout life, we transform and evolve.
I love how the leaves are bringing nature into the yin yang symbol, which is called the taijitu. Although my name literally means butterfly, I've never really included butterflies in my stamp sets, except for set FP009. This time however, I wanted them to play an essential role: the butterfly is THE symbol of transformation, a perfect match with the taijitu.
You can go wild with colors, yet for this journal divider, I wanted to keep it very toned down. This way the design exudes even more calmness and stability.
The taijitu, the yin yang symbol, is the main element, yet the quote, thanks to its font combination, can really stand its ground. Of course I couldn't leave out some numbers on the set. Which is again a nice contrast with the natural elements of it.
The butterflies also give movement to the taijitu, whether it is as background element or as focal point. And can you spot the leaf grid in the background? A big stamp can be used in a subtle way when you use shadow stamping, which is stamping with just a little bit of ink left on the stamp.
Having those little leaf circles allows to dress up just any background, even one as simple as just some stamping with distress ink on craft cardstock. It also extends the focal element (on the black card) right to the kraft cardstock.
If you stamp the butterfly on the project and then stick the fussy cut version on top of it, you don't have to worry about keeping all the details while trimming. And then you can even make your butterfly fly over the paper as it creates extra dimension!
France Papillon Collection Set 024 (FP024)
I never really understood the power of the mandala, until I started to colorize one! If you've never tried it, this is your chance :) On top of that, you can alter this mandala over and over again as all the circle stamps from this collection are intended to fit in the centre.
The butterfly border stamp is way more versatile than appears at first glance. It can be used as a border stamp. Here, I just stamped it twice to create a full line of butterflies over the paper.
Of course you can just use the little butterfly in its circle or, if you need an extra little detail like I did here, you can fussy cut it and make it fly over the paper, simply gluing the line of the body and curling the wings.
Regular Size: 6.5" x 7" (16 x 18cm) Price: RRP €5.38 + VAT
These stencils are all extensions of the stamps, offering versatility, depth and cohesion to your projects. Whether adding layers with ink, paint or texture, or making elements 'pop' as focal points, they allow you to build up your creative layers with intentional coordination.
PaperArtsy Stencil 302 (PS302)
Butterflies are fun, but as big stamps they can be hard to use as they are harder to stamp neatly. A stencil how ever can be big and still be manageable!
I did want the big butterfly to still have something interesting to it, so I gave the design distressed flower buds on top of a distressed look on the edges.
PaperArtsy Stencil 303 (PS303)
Don't tell my other stencils, but I think this one will very fast become my favourite! Although the design is big, it is also very fine, which makes it perfect as a background detail or as a focal point alike!
I had so much fun creating this journal divider! Because with just some paints and ink, you can create a cute combination, simply and efficiently.
When you play with the Fresco Finish colour combinations, you can even make it look texturized, although it is as flat as the paper!
PaperArtsy Stencil 304 (PS304)
I could not not have yet another butterfly for the last sample of this collection. This journal divider really is energizing. And yet, it is mainly just... butterflies!
I combined the stencil with the matching stamp and voila, yet another butterfly flying over the paper. This time completely differently as it is 'just' some ink and paint straight on the paper.
Placing the stencil in different areas on the paper and playing the different shades in Fresco Finish, it even creates an entire flight of butterflies!
I am looking forward to seeing what these stamps will inspire you, be it in card making, art journaling, altered art,... I am looking forward to see you all become beautiful Butterflies!
