"Good evening everyone, Anneke here. I'm happy to be back on the PaperArtsy blog this week! Tonight
I will show you how to make this wooden panel. It is really easy to
make and it would look fabulous on your mantelpiece, cabinet,
sideboard....this Christmas. For my project I've chosen two Ellen Vargo stamp sets to work with".
I started by applying a coat of gesso to a 5 x 9" wood block (12,5 X 22,5 cm)
I stamped with a variety of EEV05 stamps on tissue paper with Archival Ink Jet Black.
I glued the tissue paper to the wood block with gel medium.
I coloured the panel with a mixture of Yellow Submarine, Smoked Paprika and Candy Floss. I applied thin layers of paint and used a flat brush.
After drying I added another thin coat of Chalk to soften the bright colours.
I overstamped the background with stamps from the EEV05 stamp set. I inked up the stamps with Chalk and Candy Floss. I added some Yellow Submarine and Smoked Paprika to the edges with my fingers.
To create the tree I painted some paper scraps with Guacamole, Limelight and Tinned Peas. I stamped 30 circles with a stamp from the EEV09 stampset and punched them out. I assembled the tree as shown in the pictures. I used glue dots and started with the bottom row.
The tissue paper provides a beautiful textured background.
To decorate the tree I looked for matching buttons and sculpture flowers in my stash.
For the pot I used a painted paper scrap. I stamped words from the ELB11 stamp set.
I attached a screw eye on top and added some matching cord.
I
hope I have inspired you with this project. If you're done with the
Christmas decorations already this tree could easily be replaced by a
flower, bird. Thanks for stopping by. I'll be back tomorrow, so stay tuned :)
~Anneke~
A huge thanks Anneke for this gorgeous alternative festive decoration. The use of EEV09 to create the tree is inspired as is the colour comb you opted to work with. A real pick me up project for those pre festive blues.
