Turkey Canvas {with Squiggly Ink Stamps by Penny Nuttall}

A Christmas Turkey! Hello everyone, Penny here,  how nice to be back on the PA blog!
When Leandra gave me the call (thank you) I found myself forced to think about Christmas - I normally leave things until about two weeks before the day.

What would Christmas be without a frozen turkey? So here it is....

You might recognise the elements from the classic Squiggly Ink stamps Ding and Dong

SI. Ding.Dong 9
The first step is to prepare a sheet of Smoothy card by sponging areas of colour using Fresco Finish Acrylics Plum, Eggplant, Cherry Red and Marlin.

A shimmer of metallic glaze is brushed on top

The turkey pieces are stamped onto this background, selecting the best colour areas, and then cut out.

To add dimension, a small spool is also painted with plum Fresco.
Now assemble as follows: Here are the front sections in place.

Here are the back feathers attached to a 2nd clock.

The painted spool is attached to the clock on the back section.

Now the front section can be glued on top of the spool, making the turkey 3d.

It"s difficult to see the 3-D on a photograph but it is there!
Now to prepare the background canvas. It is first brushed with Hint of Mint Fresco, and sponged over a tree shaped mask with Evergreen and more Mint in a build up of layers,

Add a gentle glittery frost with Crystal Stickles.
All ready for the turkey

Festive Greetings to All (a bit early), and thanks for joining in.

Penny.

I sure hope this turkey will make a bid for freedom! (Don't worry, I am not about to step onto my vegetarian soap box LOL)
