Welcome Back GD: Kate Yetter Project #1 Altered Box {Part1]

"Hi everyone, Kate here and welcome back! I am excited to be sharing another week of projects using some new products from PaperArsty".

The products pictured above from PaperArsty are HP1302EZ, HP1303EZ (I ended up not using this one), Grunge Paste, FrescoFinish Paints (Ice Blue, Bora Bora,Haystack), Tan lace and from my stash: Gesso, Dylusions Lemon Zest, Bingo Stencil, I Am Roses and a box.

I covered my box and lid with two coats of Gesso.

I used Haystack to cover the entire box and lid.

After the box was dry, I used a palette knife to randomly spread Grunge Paste over a Bingo stencil. I did a little bit on each side of the box including the lid. Make sure you do not cover the entire box.

Again, I used a palette knife and my finger to spread some Gesso over the stenciled area in an attempt to blend the background together.

Fresco Finish Bora Bora was applied in a similar manner as the Gesso, being careful not to cover up all the color underneath.

I used Dylusions Lemon Zest ink spray and dripped it down the sides of my box. I also added a bit of stamping over the dried ink from the HP1302EZ.

I added some more stamping from HP1302EZ in a sepia tone. I rubbed a bit of the Fresco Finish Ice Blue over the stenciled areas with my finger.

I added some Lace to the lid before arranging my flowers and gluing them down.

I added more Gesso with a palette knife to the lid and box to achieve the look that I wanted.

Tomorrow I will be back to make some embellishments and to finish off the box! See you then.
