NEW PaperArtsy Products {JoFY Collections} with Keren Baker

NEW {JoFY} Collection Jan 2018

Keren has created such stunning samples with Jo's new stamps! I am sure you will be dying to get your hands on these stamps too!! lots of options! Enough from me, feast your eyes on this!!!

Hi everyone, Keren here,
You can always guarantee beautiful stamps when Jo creates a new collection and I have loved the floral images that contain so much detail but also have really loved some of the geometric influences particularly in the stencils
Here are some of my ideas with the new products below.

JoFY A5 stamp sets
6" x 7" (15 x 18cm) trimmed stamps on EZ mount foam
 RRP £20.50 (incl VAT)
Jo is well known for her floral designs, and following on from last summer, Jo has added to her designs some more intricate, doodled elements, which are super-fun! As ever, you will find some useful borders, backgrounds, words, and even some solid elements to add those finishing touched and details to your cards, journal pages, scrapbook layouts or canvas art.

JoFY Collection Set 60 (JoFY60)

I love these type of images - and when combined with the signature font for the sentiment, you have super happy images. I've treated these flowers very simply, letting them take the main stage and allowing you to imagine just what you could create with them.

I enjoyed colouring in these images - it's like having a colouring book at your disposal and the size of the font meant I could do an ombre-esque colour way on each letter. If I had my time again, I'd use more vibrant colours to give a greater effect.

See-through Flower

The spikey foliage stamp on the left of this plate has a wealth of uses; vertical tree, horizontal branch for birds to stand on or signs to hang from. However, I chose to stitch and stamp over it. In this soft pink pink it is almost sea-coral-like, but I opted for an acetate flower to top it off (JM59).

JoFY Collection Set 61 (JoFY61)

Happy Mushrooms

I think this is one of my favourite sets as there's so much you can do with it- the leaves can be flowers, the mushrooms can be flowers and I love all the tiny detailing that Jo does so well.

You can spy the background that I've created using one of the JoFY stencils (more on that later) but it gives a textured background that doesn't detract from the focal point and I just love using stencils and an embossing mat through my die-cutting machine.

Clare, whose post follows mine will also be sharing ideas with Jo's products too.The stamps below she will fetaure in her post which follows shortly.

JoFY Minis
credit card size trimmed stamps on EZ mount foam
 RRP £4.80 (incl VAT)
Jo's minis have always proved popular as supplementary images to the large stamp sets. For this release there are more of the doodle style intricate flowers, some fab geometric elements and the much asked for small alphabets that are great as backgrounds, or to use as a tiny alphabet.

Here's a sample just using two of the minis; JM64 (see the numbers, full stops and comma used as seeds blowing away!) with JM58.

I've created a few projects that use a variety of stamps, stencils, after all that is how we all work, with a bunch of items at the same time, on an ever shrinking work-surface.

Folded Disguise

This is aptly named as the project came about whilst trying to disguise some dodgy painting and not wanting to ruin the JoFY images! I wanted to create an interesting stencilled background using Grunge Paste and the stencil (PS084) that is shown below.

The Grunge Paste went on beautifully, however my painting was really bad - so in order to cover it up I added Gloss Glaze and when that didn't work I added glitter (ha!)

This wasn't sufficient either so in desperation I messed around with some vellum and came up with the crafter's version of blinds! I loved the soft look as a backdrop for the beautiful image..happy accidents and all that!

The flower is from JoFY 62, and the draping fronds are from JoFY59. The centre of the flower is just a blob of paint that's dried (& it's so satisfying peeling them off the craft mats!!).

I next want to create a wreath with these images. The toadstools would also create fabulous upside down 'umbrella boats' for maybe a little creature to float down a river in!

 PaperArtsy LARGE stencils
 6.25" x 9.5" (16cm x 24cm) RRP £6.50 (incl VAT)
These large stencils are fabulous for large format journal pages, or canvas art, and are a new addition to the JoFY line as far as size goes! Bigger is always better, and you can see the large flower (PS082) offers magnificent shadow options for the matching stamps in set JoFY 64.

LARGE PaperArtsy Stencil 081 (PS081)

LARGE PaperArtsy Stencil 082 (PS082)
(please note with this stencil you also get the masks (flowers)

LARGE PaperArtsy Stencil 083 (PS083)

Here's a really quick project- a little flicked paint, a little embossing powder for the main part of the image and then just different inks overlaid to finish.

PaperArtsy REGULAR stencils
6.5" x 7" (16cm x18cm) RRP £5.50 (incl VAT)
Jo has a wide assortment of stencils, and this offering has a mix of floral, geometric, bold and fine detail stencils and mask combinations. The 2 lower ones (85 & 86) 'pop out' of the surrounding area creating a mask, super useful for gel plate printing. And the floral pattern within is also repeated in stamped images, both on JoFY Minis, and regular stamp sets.

REGULAR PaperArtsy Stencil 084 (PS084)

REGULAR PaperArtsy Stencil 085 (PS085)

REGULAR PaperArtsy Stencil 086 (PS086)

I'm not really a stencil girl, but this stencil of Jo's got me really excited and I wanted to create something different to show the wonderful lines in it. I wanted to show multiple layers but in a compact form and 4 layers of acetate did the trick.

Yes, you might have noticed the colours are different!- the final version just had colours tweaked so all the projects match each other. I just slapped the paint on, not worrying if there was transfer of colour or jaggedy edges.

Compiling the 4 layers together and attaching at the top (then hiding beneath a thin strip of patterned paper gives a fab dimensional look.

I also added the stamp from JoFY62 set to give interest to the background and the acetate painted flowers are from the JoFY mini 59. I love looking through the acetate and seeing the details.

This stencil (PS086) has been embossed first using a die-cutting machine and embossing mat. I added some glitter on top of Gloss Glaze

 PaperArtsy MINI size stencils
3.5" x 3.75" (9cm x9.5cm) RRP £3.00 (incl VAT)
These are a new format for Jo; gorgeous baby stencils that are super fun for your backgrounds to add depth and layering to your mixed media crafting. A nice addition to the JoFY line on products.

PaperArtsy  MINI Stencil 013 (PM013)

PaperArtsy MINI Stencil 014 (PM014)

Here's a couple of samples using some of Jo's mini stencils; they're a great way of getting a stencilled look in perfect proportion for smaller projects like cards, mini journals, ATCs etc.

There is so much to inspire you in this new collection and whether you use a multi layered painted style or just a clean and simple treatment, these sets are bound to give you a great result. You can't help feeling uplifted with these designs..the hardest bit now is working out which to choose!
