Welcome back France Papillon #1 Distress Those Chest Of Drawers ....

 "Tonight's project is all about the step by step transformation of a plain wooden substrate into something not only practical, but something beautiful to look at".

Let me take you through step by step .... 

1. First, I carefully removed the knobs from the drawers.

2. I filled the holes with Grunge Paste, to flatten the surface again and left it to dry.

3. Once my first layer of Mud SplatFresco was dry (which I roughly applied with a brush), I applied a thin layer of Crackle Glaze with a palette knife. I left that aside to dry too.

4. Meanwhile, I prepared some Kraft Paper to cover the inside of the drawers.

5. I than applied a thin layer of Ice BlueFresco with a piece of Cut N Dry. (I can only refer to Leandra’s super duper Crackle Glaze video HERE for the how to!) Once the magic had worked and the cracking was done, I roughly worked the surface with a sanding grip.

6. Use a blending tool and Vintage Photo Distress Ink to accentuate the distressed look.

7. I placed my kraft paper inside the drawer for a finished look.
8. Using my sanding grip again, I cleaned the knobs from all glue residues.

9. I glued it to a pencil with a glue dot, so that I could colourize it with Tarnished Brass Distress Paint without having paint all over my fingers. Once dry, I added a generous layer of Vintage Photo Distress Ink.

10. Using Tacky glue, I placed the knobs back on the drawers.

11. I stamped the text from Ink and The Dog Collcetion (Backgrounds Plate 2) on the top and the ledger from Backgrounds Plate 2 on the side, with Coffee Archival Ink.

Now for the little embellishment:

1. I started by mixing some Grunge Paste with Stone and Holly Fresco Paint.

2. I then used a palette knife to apply it to the wooden frame.

3. Once dried, I added some brown accents with Melted Chocolate Dylusions Ink.

4. I stamped the "text" from Backgrounds Plate 2 with Coffee Archival Ink along with the Wings 1 image using Black Archival Ink onto a piece of Smoothy White Stamping Card, I then added some Vintage Photo Distress Ink to cut down the white.

5. The heart is made of cold china paste and colorized with Blood Orange and Claret Fresco Paint. I also added a thin layer of Crackle Glaze on top to make it a bit shinier.
