Sue Carrington #3 Flower Bag ....

"I’m using the middle sized wood bag for today’s project. These are great substrates and because they’re so solid they’re great to stamp on to". 

I used a stencil and some Grunge Paste to add texture on all sides of the bag.

Before I removed the stencil I spritzed the flourish stamp from Hot Picks 1005 with water and pressed it into the Grunge Paste.

When the Grunge Paste was dry I covered the whole bag with Cheesecake Fresco Finish Paint, which is opaque and perfect as a first coat.

I then used some Pumpkin Soup and blended it over the surface with a baby wipe.

I used the same technique with Brown Shed, adding some with a brush and then blending it with a baby wipe. 

Still not satisfied with the colour I then used some HeyPesto.

I love the effect that Hey Pesto has with these colours, because it’s a translucent it lets the colours below show through. 

I then used Tinned Peas and Cut N Dry foam and dabbed the paint around the edges. 

I’ve used the Mini Marakesh stencil with Blood Orange all over the bag. Then I placed the stencil back over the Gunge Paste and stamped the script using Mini 44.

I’ve used the little swirl stamp from Hot Pick 1004 and stamped it with a mix of Brown Shed with Blood Orange.

I wanted to add some paler stamping so used the little dotty stamp from Hot Pick 1204 and dabbed off some of the paint before stamping.

I didn’t like the Tinned Peas on it’s own so I brushed over the top with Onyxite Treasure Gold. I then stamped the text from Hot Pick Xtra04. 

I cut three flowers using the Grunge Flower 1 & 2 and Scallop Flower dies from Crunchy Waxed Paper.  I then painted them with a mixture of BrownShed and Pumpkin Soup.

I screwed the flowers up and when I unravelled them brushed Classic Treasure Gold over them.

 

I painted some paper flowers with a mixture of Brown Shed and Blood Orange. 

For the centre of the flower I’ve used a flower button. This is what it looked like before I painted it.

Once painted I then brushed it with Classic Treasure Gold.

I layered the flower up and stuck it to the front of the bag adding some metal leaves.

I added a couple of metal corner embellishments to finish.
