2025 Year in review: Scrapcosy

Hi everyone, Raquel here from Scrapcosy, wishing you a happy New Year full of health, happiness, creativity and great moments to remember! My New Year resolution is to spend more time in my craft room, creating things, playing with my stamps and stencils and sharing more projects with you in my YouTube channel.

I'm here today to share with you what 2025 has meant for me crafty-wise. I've reached what I feel is an unbelievable milestone: I went beyond stamp set number 50! I'm in love with all the designs I came up with this 2025. After all the hard work, having them turned into stamps and stencils to play with is an amazing feeling! I feel so lucky to design for PaperArtsy!

April Release: Garden Flowers
ESC50, ESC51 & ESC52
PS468, PS469 & PS470 (Large)

To celebrate the 50th stamp set I went for a favourite thing of mine: patchwork fabric with roses. I'm a patchwork fabric lover, I can't help it, when I see a beautiful rose-pattern fabric I just buy it, touch it, look at it, keep it... my Preciousss... So with design number 50 I wanted to be able to create a fabric-like pattern with roses, so I drew my own flower bouquet inspired in a couple of those fabrics I own and I got it in two different sizes and with extra little flowers to decorate. I was so happy with this design! And I created this sample to show you the type of fabric I love!

With ESC51 I was inspired to handwrite a poem about a day in a wild garden. With the help of Leandra and Alison Bomber, I polished it a little bit and all the writing was ready to create texture in different shapes. The daisies bouquet I saw in an embroidery vintage book inspired the flowers in this stamp set, so I decided to create a book mark showing part of the poem and the beautiful flowers. I created other samples on each side of the book mark with the little elements that allow the creation of repetitive patterns, which is another thing I love.

I chose this sample from the release since this is the one I did a live demo on. I love the background I created with PS470, grunge paste and infusions and I love how the magnolia flower from ESC52 (inspired by a heritage wooden box I have) stands out on top of it. This is my favourite sample on the release!

Meanwhile, over on the PaperArtsy Blog, Ann Barnes made this gorgeous shadowbox with my new stamps..

As you can see, some gorgeous shading on the flowers...

And beautiful paint details from stencilling various layers on the frame and the background.

November Release: Strawberries & Mushrooms
ESC53, ESC54 & ESC55
PS491, PS492 & PS493 (Large)

Inspired in the arts and crafts movement started by William Morris and the vintage perfume labels, ESC53 and ESC54 were born. I love strawberries so those and their plants in different shapes were the stars of these 2 stamp sets. I wanted to create a modernist label so I could use it not only for preserve jars but also for being the focal point of a sample, like this one, where PS491 stencil also stands out in the background.

ESC54 has also a countryside vibe, so that's what I wanted to convey with this sample, where I used the strawberry plant as a focal and the 2 tartan stripes to create a beautiful squared fabric-like pattern in the background. This stamp set is really versatile and those 2 stripes will let you create many different patterns.

This was my favourite sample on the release. I love mushrooms, so it was time to get a new mushroom stamp set with ESC55. I didn't want to just add new specimens to my previous mushroom sets, I wanted to create beautiful mushroom bouquets or groups of them that could be used as a focal and would be beautiful as stand alone images. I'm so happy with both collages and also with the fact that the extra images will let you add dimension and background patterns.

The image for this other sample is meant to be used in borders of cards and art journal pages, however it looks so stunning on its own that it deserved to be in the centre of the card. Multiple stamped and cut images allow that 3D effect on the card that pops the mushrooms out of the paper. It's like they are truly alive!

And this final sample was the one I made for the other demo I gave here on the PaperArtsy people facebook group. It comes out of the PS493 stencil, which is a multiple layer stencil, allowing you to add different colours for each layer. With the help of a white pen for the highlights and black pen for the shadows the stencilled image gets completely transformed into a hand drawn look like image, with far more details than a simple stencilled image.

Meanwhile, over on the bog Tracy Hickman created this stunning journal page with my November release, you can see all the details here

The new Postcards Printed Tissue made such a great backdrop to kick off her page

She also created 2 tags that make this spread interactive and allowed her to use the stamps to their full potential

End of Year Project: Xmas Baubles (by Raquel Burillo)

Although Christmas season is almost over (in Spain it lasts until 6th of January, with the celebration of the 3 wise men) this is a project that I wanted to share with you, since it can be applied to any other object, not just plastic Christmas tree baubles, but also jars, vases, coasters, wooden boxes, etc. I'll show you my way of working with PaperArtsy blank tissue paper and the stamps of your choice. Many of the designs of my 2025 releases can be used for this technique and if you keep your colour palette unified, when applied to Christmas trees baubles, you can create your own baubles collection for next year and combine these with plain and same colour baubles for a more textured Christmas tree.

My main supplies were stamp sets ESC50 and ESC53 (available from a PaperArtsy Stockist), which I stamped onto Blank Printed Tissue Paper (PT10) with some black Archival ink, which then I glued to my plastic baubles with Fresco Finish Satin Glaze and added colour with some Mattints, Infusions and Gold Fresco Finish Paint. I gave a vintage look with some Vintage Photo Distress Ink at the end.

Here you can probably see the supplies a bit better.

The very first layer is just adding Fresco Finish Chalk Paint to cover the plastic bauble. Here I'm dabbing the brush to add some texture.

I created 3 different bases for each of the baubles, a dabbing one, then long and full brushstrokes and finally a roughly brushed one, where the bottom of the bauble is still golden colour. If instead of Chalk colour you add a different one, then that will be the base colour of the finished project. These may look also gorgeous in light green or like blue, using Aqua Duck Egg or Niagara Falls, for example.

In a nutshell, after adding the base colour, we need to glue the stamped images to the baubles and add the different colour layers. Let's see the details for each step.

First, stamp all the images on a piece of Blank PaperArtsy Printed Tissue Paper (PT10). I used Archival Ink, which dries much, much faster than Versafine ink. Just be careful when you stamp because the ink goes through the tissue and will stain your surface. Consider placing a piece of copy paper underneath the tissue, so it absorbs the ink or clean the ink from your surface after each stamped image, otherwise if you move the tissue to stamp on the same spot of your crafty table, the tissue will absorb that leftover ink and you'll be disappointed.

Once everything is stamped you want to trim each image so you can glue it to the baubles. Don't use scissors please! Use a brush dipped in water to trace around the image, then tear it so you can see the paper fibers on all edges, that will ensure the edge disappears when you glue it to your surface. If the paper doesn't easily tear, your brush needs more water. Just make sure the water stays away from the image and tear the tissue paper carefully.

Here are the 3 designs I made, combining different elements of both stamp sets. The way to glue the tissue paper is by first applying a layer of glaze onto all the surface of the bauble that each piece of tissue paper will touch. I used Fresco Finish Satin Glaze but you can use a Fresco Finish Gloss Glaze for a shiny finish or Fresco Finish Matte Glaze for a completely matte finish instead of a satin finish. Then you lay one trimmed image into that wet surface and then you apply another layer of Glaze on top of the tissue paper. You are doing it right when the tissue paper becomes transparent and you can see your image on top of the painted background, as if the tissue paper just disappeared.

Now it's time to add colour. I used Ladybug Mattint (available from PaperArtsy stockists) for the red, Glow Mattint for the yellows, Olive Tree Infusions Dye Stain mixed with Fresco Finish Satin glaze for the greens and then I added some touches/dots of Fresco Finish Gold for a more magical and Christmassy touch.

And for a final vintage touch I added some Vintage Photo Distress Ink, which will highlight the paper creases and will add some depth and texture to your project.

This is how they turned out. They look gorgeous in my Christmas tree!

The big roses combined with tiny ones and the small flower branches create a busy pattern that I love. By adding the gold spots here and there I fill the blank spaces with some magic and shine.

This design is much simpler, just 6 copies of that flower evenly spaced (or as much as I could) leave some gaps which again I filled with gold dots. These combine really well with the bottom of the bauble which I left without paint so it's also golden colour.

This same technique can be applied to other things. Imagine creating a set of coasters with the same images or a wooden tray with a repeated pattern. There are some many home decor elements you can upgrade to have that same look: pencil pots, kitchen clocks, inside of drawers, the top of a side table, wooden boxes and more.

I'm editing the YouTube video that has all the steps to create this baubles. I will add the link here once the video is published, or check my YT link below.

NEW PaperArtsy Products by Scrapcosy {Nov 2025}

A few words from Leandra
Raquel's engineering mind comes to the fore within this release. Particularly her layered stencil at the foot of this post. I love her dimensional cards that heavily use Grunge past to make touchy-feely backgrounds where infusions and inks often help to highlight the texture. The 'Arts and Crafts' style of patterns abound in the strawberry plate, offering a lot of repeat pattern opportunity to build up backgrounds with ease. Finally mushrooms, always a popular element, and these clusters are perfect on a scrapbook layout or journal page!

Raquel says: With this new release you'll be transported to the countryside and forest, where strawberries, their flowers and plants, along with wild mushrooms are abundant.
A mix of vintage style and a smidge of Art Nouveau, reminiscent of the Arts and Crafts design movement founder, William Morris, influenced this series.
Beautiful, elaborate patterns within both the stamps and the stencils, are useful for either repetitive patterns or layered ones. Add to that gorgeous focal images and thoughtful sentiments; plus you know how much I enjoy ribbons and embellishments on my cards and art journals, so those too are not forgotten.
You will find these designs also work for scrapbooking spreads or any other mixed media projects of your choice.

It's a packed release. All elements are hand-drawn and hand-written by me, designed to give you numerous options and variety within your creative exploration. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did creating it.

Red Rubber Stamps (A5 set)
Price: RRP €23.00 +VAT
Size:5" x 6" (13 x16.5cm)
All stamps are individually trimmed onto cling foam, with a laminated storage/index sheet.

Scrapcosy Set 53 (ESC53)

The perfect stamp set with many elements to create botanical patterns in different sizes and styles and to use them as focal points or as embellishments depending on the project you want to make: scrapbooking spreads, cards, ATCs, bookmarks, and more.

I'm using this to create plenty of bespoke scrapbooking papers. It's a fantastic gift for crafty friends or yourself!

Pair this set with ESC30 to create beautiful postage stamps with each element and to add more background details to your pages and projects.

Home Sweet Home

The square strawberry design on its own may not seem too much, but when repeated to create a tiled wall it really brings joy. Leaving the empty gap for the sentiment really makes it pop effortlessly.

You could make a larger format and change the position of the sentiment somewhere else, or perhaps create a window in that space for a shaker card, where little fussy cut strawberries and flowers can be shaken.

Mini scrapbooking paper collection

I have plenty more scrapbooking papers and backgrounds in my mind to make, so here's a sample of a few designs you can add to your hand-made paper collection. I had lots of fun and playtime with these patterns.

This design is similar to the very first sample you saw, but here I've rotated the tile to make sure the strawberries point to the same place. In that way, every group of 4 tiles seem to make a bigger tile themselves.

This next paper was inspired by patchwork fabrics, where the pattern repeats creating a continuous design. I would love to repeat this same pattern while also changing the colours of the palette, so the strawberries could be blue, and the stamping ink brown, allowing the entire plant to blend into the background. That way a focal image or a picture layered on top would stand out more.

Here I used the big flower, but the same pattern could be achieved with the smaller one or when combining both. Those 2 options will be next on my to-do list for this paper collection.

Scrapcosy Set 54 (ESC54)

The ideal stamp set for gift givers. Personalise a preserve jar full of jam or crafty goodies for your crafty friends, while using the thoughtful sentiments to decorate the label. Tartan stripes allow you to edit plain fabric to cover the lid of the jar, plus a stamp for handmade ribbons.

Of course these designs are also perfect for tags or cards. The big flower will make a beautiful focal point that you can decorate with the leaves: fussy cut both of them (one or more) and arrange them into a card or create an art journal page.

Pair this set with ESC14 (tea set collection) to create beautiful flower bouquets and to create tea party themed projects. This new stamp set offers the 'strawberry jam' experience that high tea with scones and cream demands.

Made for You
I created this stamp set with this sample in mind, where I've combined many of the things that I love: preserves, vintage labels, fabric and ribbons.

I used the 2 tartan stripes to create this gorgeous fabric, that covers the lid beautifully. I could have combined black stripes with red stripes and it would have also looked amazing.

Instead of a strawberry preserve I decided to store ribbons and some fairy lights that would make this gift even more special. I would love to receive those goodies in such a lovely container. What would you store instead?

If you wanted to gift a homemade strawberry preserve, then instead of decorating the back with the big flower and the leaves as I did, you could add the empty label and either add the ingredients or some handwritten words for the receiver of that delicacy.

Thank You Berry Much

I love the countryside look you can get by creating a tartan background and combining it with the strawberry plant. I cut the rubber tamp to separate the 2 tartan stripes, in that way I could stamp easily in different colours and positions. If you don't dare to cut the rubber, you can still carefully add 2 different colours of ink on each stripe.

I really like this colour combination! And the ribbon with the strawberries and flowers, which I didn't want to cover too much, so I decided to split the sentiment in 2 parts and show it as if it is coming from underneath.

Scrapcosy Set 55 (ESC55)

I love mushrooms! With this stamp set I wanted to give you not only some specimens but also beautiful compositions that can either become focal points or backgrounds.
The mushrooms can be fussy cut and rearranged so the composition gains volume and much more interest, creating the feeling of a tiny forest scene.

Imagine adding the squirrel from ESC25 or other mushroom species from ESC26 and ESC05 to your composition.

It is nice how these new stamp sets will work really well together with some of my older stamps to provide you expanded creative opportunities.

Tiny Forest

I'm in love with this sample! It really looks like a close up picture from a tiny and beautiful forest, full of life and colours.

I paired it with the stencil PS491 that you will see shortly after. They work really well together. And to give dimension to the sample, I used the separate stamps of both mushrooms which match the sizes of the collage.

If you cut the tops of the mushrooms and stick them on top of foam adhesive or just leftover stacked cards you will create that 3D feeling where some are in the front and others in the back.

Mushroom Tower

I designed this stamp so it could decorate the edges of a page, stamping half on one side and half on the other, but I must admit that the entire tower looks so nice that it really deserved to be a focal too.

To 'ground' the tower, I just added the sentiment and decorated it with 2 of the leaves, which by the way would be great to use for a background pattern too. That's also on my to do list!

The background was created with the stencil PS493 that you'll see below. To add a 3D feeling to the mushrooms, I stamped 3 versions of the tower and stacked them in pieces. It was like making a puzzle and when I secured the final piece, I was so happy with the result!

Beautiful Memories

I had an extra pair of mushrooms that I didn't use in the other 2 samples, so I quickly put together a couple of mini-cards using as well the leaves from stencil PS493. Here's one of these tiny samples.

And here is the other one. I love how the leaves from PS493 ground the mushrooms

PaperArtsy Stencil 491 (PS491) by Scrapcosy

A beautiful background in 2 sizes and styles, so you can repeat them to cover entire pages with both designs. So useful background for many projects.

I had in mind the ability to simulate modernist walls where the top half is stencilled paint motifs (using this stencil) and the bottom section is a tiled wall, which can be replicated by stamping some of the images of ESC53. Both sections of the wall could be divided by a stripe border stamp from that same set to replicate the wood moulding. In my village there are plenty of modernist houses and they often have this 2-section style of walls; I love them. And my first sample is just about that

Modernist Wall

This is a special sample for me, since it is part of the essence of this release: recreating a modernist wall, with stencils and a William Morris / Art Nouveau vibe. Next time I would probably change the position of the sentiment which I really wasn't sure where to place it. I didn't want to cover any part of my wall. Maybe next time, I'll make the wall bigger (larger piece of paper) and place it as if it was a framed picture hanging from it.

Thank You

I'm a fan of grunge paste and with this stencil you don't need too many more elements to get an elaborated and luxurious project. I just added the label from ESC54 and this time I stamped the 'thank you berry much' sentiment. With the ribbon on both sides of the label (or even without it) it looks fantastic.

I used a heavy dose of Lady Bug Mattint in all this release to colour the strawberries. And for the leaves I used Olive Tree Infusions mixed with Satin Glaze, to get a darker colour of green. For the grunge paste background I used Green Man Infusions and some 'Just Walnut' crystals.

Tiny forest

You've already seen this sample, just sharing an extra picture so you can appreciate the background a bit more and the colour gradient shifting from the blue of Green Man to the brown of Just Walnut. I love this colour combination.

And so you can compare both sizes of the pattern, here's a picture with both samples

PaperArtsy Stencil 492 (PS492) by Scrapcosy

This layering stencil allows you to build a 3-colour strawberry plant which can either be a background pattern or a main focal point.
First place a layer of leaves (green paint or ink), then a layer of strawberries (in red paint or ink) and finally a layer of flowers and strawberry seeds (in white or yellow paint and/or grunge paste). You can leave it as is or add some details with pens for a more finished look.

Strawberry sentiments

Although you can use this stencil to create a nice background for a card, it looks so nice on its own that it deserves being the focal image of it as well, so I created 3 different cards using it, 2 very similar and the other one much clean and simple. I'll show you how to make the one on the left in the live event at PaperArtsy Facebook group, so you can craft along with me.

Sweet Little Treat

This card is really quick to start, you'll end with the stencil part really quickly. And then it takes more time to give the final touches so the stencilled image gets elevated to something more, adding shadows, highlight and the background will make it pop up a lot and become alive. If you want to learn to do this, join me live on the 15th of December on the PaperArtsy People Facebook group.

Thank You Berry Much

A similar card can be made, just by changing the order of the steps, first layer being the background. You get a more muted project, which can be ideal if you're going for a more vintage look.

Made For You

And if you prefer a more clean and simple look, just leave a white background and pair the sentiment and the frame to a colour already used. I chose red, for a more lively finish, but green would also look charming. In this case instead of ink I went for grunge paste on step 3, to give it some more interest and volume, since in this one I didn't want to use the pens.

PaperArtsy Stencil 493 (PS493) by Scrapcosy

A great stencil to create either 3D patterns with grunge paste sprinkled with infusions or flat backgrounds with ink.
Create the perfect base layer for a simple card with a focal image on top, like mushrooms or flowers to finish. Use the bigger leaves for a more dramatic impact or fussy cut them after being stencilled so they can be added to a bouquet or a cluster.

Travel Journal: Forest Collection

This stencil would be perfect to create a Forest Album or Travel Journal on that theme. The cover could be the one in the middle and inside you could make pages inspired by the 3 samples you've already seen in this post, displayed around it.

The 3 leaves look great when fussy cut and inked darker, they are a nice focal for a cover or a beautiful decorative element for any other interior page.

The stencil pattern can be repeated all over a larger page, so if you want a larger cover, just replace it and continue stencilling as you need.

I had lots of fun and lots of playtime during the creation of all the samples. I find these stamps are so versatile and offer so many possibilities, that I could spend many crafty sessions with them without running out of ideas.

I hope you found inspiration today and if you get your hands on these products, I would love to see what you do with them, so make sure you tag me on social media, so I don't miss it and I can repost it for others to enjoy as well.

And as always, a HUGE thank you to the PaperArtsy crew for making these stamps and making all this creativity possible!
