NEW: TRACY SCOTT {by Clare Messenger}

June 2019 New Products
Eclectica³ {Tracy Scott}

Clare is wonderful at packing some 'pow-colour' into her creations, and these delightful new stamps by Tracy Scott look stunning with their painted layers and added coloured pencil detailling. ~Leandra

Hi everyone, it's Clare with you today.  I always get so excited when new PaperArtsy stamps are being released!  Even more so when I hear that Tracy Scott has been back at the drawing board to create some more glorious images for us to create with.

Tracy has been dropping little clues for us to follow along the way and when it was confirmed that she had indeed gone on to convert her black line drawings into these stunning new botanical stamps I was absolutely thrilled. There are sentiments a plenty which will offer you plenty of uses for many occasions.  Completing the collection are three stunning floral stencils which, in my opinion, could easily be used in stand alone projects.

So I decided to throw a little bit of everything into the mix and come up with a mixed media project.  I was a little upset with myself for not incorporating those stunning butterflies but those flowers (swoon)  were an absolute dream to paint and colour, so much that I ended up with three flowers instead of the two I'd originally planned.  I also went on to create a second layer for a couple of the the flowers.  Using PaperArtsy smoothy card I stamped and embossed the blooms & creatures.  Colour wise I painted  PaperArtsy translucent Frescos (Coral & Cerise)  as my base colour and added shading using coloured pencils.

I started out by applying texture paste to my substrate and using some of the sentiments & creatures to keep in the background.  I decided to take some of the texture away and sanded back to leave a smoother appearance.

I went over the stamping with some Beach Hut translucent paint and edged with Snowflake.  I continued to stencil over the top of the stamped and painted background.  It was at this point I started to have a bit of a wobble! I was just offering the images to see if I had enough to go on when I snapped this picture and it occurred to me that both foreground and background were conflicting with their bold bright colours!  Time to step away from the project.

So after a bit of deliberation and conference with PA HQ I decided to go with isolating my background using PaperArtsy Matte Glaze and applying a watery wash of snowflake to tone down the background.  I repeated this action a couple of times until I achieved the desired effect.

I knew that I just had to have the creatures as a 3D element and the way I made this happen was by curling some green wire around a paintbrush to create a spring and attaching my Busy Bee using silicone gel.

I used glossy accents where the petals curled over to add yet another dimension to the blooms.  Piece by piece I layered my project at varying heights using silicone glue.

More smoothy card & Fresco paints! This time I blended Guacamole & Toad Hall onto card.  Once dry I stamped with one of Tracy's earlier stamps, to create texture and cut out some foliage.  I attached the leaves to some green wire and inserted them around the blooms.  I wasn't too worried about the position of the leaves at this point!  I let everything dry before moving the leaves and wires into the desired position.

These new stamps are truly delightful and I'm  sure you will agree that they will lend themselves to many occasions.  These beautiful works of art are sure to grace many cards, art journals and mixed media projects and will carry us through to creating that spring feeling all year through.

Thank you so much  for joining me today, Wishing you all a creative week.

NEW: Tracy Scott {by Clare Messenger}

Jan 2019 New Products
Eclectica³ Collection {Tracy Scott}

Well it will be no surprise to you that the sneak peek above generated a LOT of positivity on socials a week ago when we spilled the beans on this release! Clare has created the most vibrant and interesting layers with these stunning new stamps by Tracy. If you want to know more about stockist in your area, see this product announcement post here. I'm sure you are itching to read on so go ahead! ~ Leandra

Hi everyone, it's Clare Messenger with you today.  Here's a reminder of Tracy's stunning new stamps, announced yesterday.

I love working with florals and I especially enjoy building up layers of flowers to create 3D art, art that just leaps right out at you!  First layering with paint stamps and stencils, adding texture to your piece and creating interest for the eye, building and embellishing your creation so that it comes to life!

The background stamps added so much focal interest, with a variation of shapes and patterns.  They will be a fabulous addition to use in my journal, I absolutely adore the bubbles I can see those being used for underwater scenes.

Tracy's new stencils are just so stunning!  Creating crisp stencilled flowers to add to your projects.  I would like to stencil these into my art journal and maybe have a go at some zentangle, the petals are spacious enough to create patterns of your own.

When I first saw the images of the flowers I knew exactly what I wanted to do with them!  They will be so versatile! I have a feeling that they will be making appearances on many a birthday card.  Contemporary blooms that are fun and diverse and sure to grace a mantle piece as well as a piece of mixed media art.

I really love how how the flowers cascade down the canvas.  They lend themselves to mixed media so much!  I cant wait to explore other colour ways, I'm also looking forward layering the flowers to add a further dimension.

As I have already mentioned, I knew what I wanted to achieve as soon I saw the stamps!  I was overjoyed with the end result, however on reflection I feel I could have added more stamping into the background.  I think I hesitated over this as I didn't want to detract from the flowers.  Given that the blooms had the bold & bright hues to carry them, I shouldn't have worried! I'm really looking forward to using these in my journal, I see a very vivacious head-dress popping up at some point.

Thank you to Leandra & Tracy for giving me  the opportunity to share these gorgeous stamps with everyone, they were a dream to work with!

Details of stockists can be found at the foot of this product announcement here.

Happy Crafting,

NEW PaperArtsy Products {JoFY Collection} with Clare Messenger

NEW {JoFY} Collection Jan 2018

Clare creates such amazing ideas with her love of simple lines and striking colour combinations. She has an awesome bunch of wonderful ideas with Jo's stamps, and is particularly good at highlighting the doodled designs within each stamped image.

Hi everyone, Clare here, I was so excited to be involved with Jo's new release stamps.  The images are absolutely stunning and they are BIG!  They offer so many opportunities for colour ways, collage and layering.  I can't wait to get them into my journal and fill my pages with these amazing blooms.

JoFY A5 stamp sets
6" x 7" (15 x 18cm) trimmed stamps on EZ mount foam
 RRP £20.50 (incl VAT)
Jo is well known for her floral designs, and following on from last summer, Jo has added to her designs some more intricate, doodled elements, which are super-fun! As ever, you will find some useful borders, backgrounds, words, and even some solid elements to add those finishing touched and details to your cards, journal pages, scrapbook layouts or canvas art.

JoFY Collection Set 59 (JoFY59)

Divine Creation JoFY59

I adore the doodled flowers with their beautiful, intricate details.  I could while away many hours colouring and adding in doodles of my own to change it's appearance and give the blooms their own identity.

I would love to try stamping on to patterned papers to see what effects this would create or add layers to the flowers by layering the patterns available on the petals.

JoFY Collection Set 63 (JoFY63)

Alphabet Foliage JoFY63

These stamps, in my eyes, are a staple of every stampers craft box.  This beautiful stamp set is alive with with foliage of all shapes and sizes for you to use on your layouts and will go hand in hand with all of Jo's new release stamps and stencils.

The alphabet line is one of my favourites!  I am envisaging using this in the future in my backgrounds along with creating exciting borders to frame  my work.

JoFY Collection Set 64 (JoFY64)

Aloha JoFY64

I absolutely fell in love with this stamp set the moment I set eyes on it.  The flower heads are so big and full. The blooms remind me of Hawaiian flowers.  They really are a colourists dream, for my next project using these I am looking forward to getting out my watercolour pencils and practice my shades and tones.

These beautiful blooms will grace any journal spread and make an amazing focal point!  I love decorating wooden plaques and I intend on creating one using these sensational stamps.

As you know, there are 3 more stamp sets that new from Jo in this release, and Keren and Jo shared samples with those in the previous 2 posts. Just as a reminder, and for your reference, here they are:
JoFY Collection Set 60 (JoFY60)

JoFY Collection Set 61 (JoFY61)

JoFY Collection Set 62 (JoFY62)

JoFY Minis
credit card size trimmed stamps on EZ mount foam
 RRP £4.80 (incl VAT)
Jo's minis have always proved popular as supplementary images to the large stamp sets. For this release there are more of the doodle style intricate flowers, some fab geometric elements and the much asked for small alphabets that are great as backgrounds, to to use as a tiny alphabet.

Mini Text Tag

On this tag I have used both JM63 & JM64.  Jo's handwriting is amazing and I'm sure you will agree that adding text, lettering or numerical print onto your project always gives the eye something more for to glide over.

I cut out a small tag, from some Smoothy card, that had been painted with some PaperArtsy Fresco Acrylic, Antarctic.

Using mini stencil PM012 & Lake Wanaka Fresco paint I sponged through the stencil to add contrast to the pale Antarctic paint.

Working with JM63 & JM64 I stamped, using the Lake Wanaka paint, around the tag before attaching the bloom & foliage.

 PaperArtsy LARGE stencils
 6.25" x 9.5" (16cm x 24cm) RRP £6.50 (incl VAT)
These large stencils are fabulous for large format journal pages, or canvas art, and are a new addition to the JoFY line as far as size goes! Bigger is always better, and you can see the large flower (PS082) offers magnificent shadow options for the matching stamps in set JoFY 64.

LARGE PaperArtsy Stencil 081 (PS081)

LARGE PaperArtsy Stencil & Masks 082 (PS082)
(please note with this stencil you also get the masks (flowers)

LARGE PaperArtsy Stencil 083 (PS083)

Fizzing Flowers

Using the Stencil PS083 I inked onto my card, through the stencil, with Versamark, watermark ink.

With some mica powders I carefully brushed over the inked image with a couple of different colours.

I added some additional stamping from set Jofy63 and Mini stamp JM58.

I stamped the flower heads, from Jofy63, on to some Smoothy card, which had already been painted using PaperArtsy Fresco Paint, a blend of prawn and chalk.  With some pencils I added some shading and carefully cut them out so that I could assemble my project.

PaperArtsy REGULAR stencils
6.5" x 7" (16cm x18cm) RRP £5.50 (incl VAT)
Jo has a wide assortment of stencils, and this offering has a mix of floral, geometric, bold and fine. The 2 lowers ones 'pop out' of the surrounding mylar creating a mask, useful for gelli  printing. And the floral pattern within is also repeated in stamped images, both on JoFY  Minis, and regular stamp sets.

REGULAR PaperArtsy Stencil 084 (PS084)

REGULAR PaperArtsy Stencil 085 (PS085)

REGULAR PaperArtsy Stencil 086 (PS086)

Geo Flower

I made this quick little card by stencilling onto black card. I used Chalk coloured Fresco paint through stencil PS086.  The coverage is awesome!

The flowers from Jofy62 work perfectly with this stencil so using the smallest bloom I stamped, coloued and attached to my card.

I cant wait to explore more with this stencil on my Gelli plate.  With the marvellous, geometric shapes it will certainly make for some interesting prints.

PaperArtsy MINI size stencils
3.5" x 3.75" (9cm x9.5cm) RRP £3.00 (incl VAT)
These are a new format for Jo with gorgeous baby stencils that are super fun for your backgrounds to add depth and layering to your mixed media crafting.A nice addition to the JoFY line on products.

PaperArtsy MINI Stencil 011 (PM011)

PaperArtsy MINI Stencil 012 (PM012)

PaperArtsy  MINI Stencil 013 (PM013)

PaperArtsy MINI Stencil 014 (PM014)

I have had so much crafty fun experimenting with Jo's stunning new release of stamps.  I think that you will agree when I say that these stamps and stencils offer you so much versatility and will all work together so beautifully.  Thank you so much in visiting and letting me share my creations with you using these wonderful stamps.
