Hello everybody! I am Mi Mii, French crafter and new addition to the PaperArtsy blogging team. I am so happy, honoured and excited by this new creative adventure. For my introduction, I tried my hand at this new 'with 3 things' challenge. Though, to be honest, the real challenge for me was the blogging as it is my first time and I am still figuring it out!
Bonjour à tous! Je suis Mi Mii, créatrice française et petite nouvelle de l'équipe du blog PaperArtsy. Je suis tellement heureuse, honorée et excitée par cette nouvelle aventure créative. Pour rentrer dans le vif du sujet, j'ai relevé le défi 'with 3 things'. Soit dit en passant, mon premier réel défi...c'est la rédaction de cet article car c'est ma première expérience en tant que blogueuse et je ne suis pas encore très à mon aise 😊.
I was like a kid at Christmas opening my surprise package for 'with 3 things', wow! I was particularly happy to find the new Tracy Scott mini as I love this series of mini characters, so full of creative possibilities. There was also a beautiful printed tissue paper by Scrapcosy. So many detail and cool graphics on one sheet, I love it! Colour wise, we got the new Fresco Finish 'Bermuda' by Tracy Scott, a pretty blue green, soft and bright.
So many ideas come to mind! My first one was a bookmark. But no, in the end, I went for a paperclip! I think it fits better with the 'Miniature' topic. It will be perfect to embellish the cover of my junk journal. Here is the result, I love it!
Telle une enfant à Noël, je déballe mon colis mystère 3for3 et waouh ! Trop contente de découvrir le tout nouveau mini tampon de Tracy Scott. J'aime beaucoup cette série de mini personnages qui permet tant de possibilités créatives. Il y a aussi un magnifique papier de soie imprimé Scraposy. Tellement de détail et de graphisme sur un même support, j'adore! Pour la couleur, la toute nouvelle peinture Fresco finish "Bermuda" de Tracy Scott, un joli bleu vert, doux et lumineux à souhait.
Les idées fusent ! Ma première était un marque page. Et puis non, finalement ce sera un PaperClip ! Ce format se prête plus au thème : " Miniature ". Il viendra agrémenter la couverture de mon Junk Journal. Je vous fais découvrir le résultat final, j'aime beaucoup !
Are you interested in the steps to create this project? I started by gathering all the necessary elements. The base is made of a jumbo paperclip and two 5cm circles of mixed media paper. Add to that, the small supplies we probably all already have in our craft room!
Ca vous tente de découvrir les différentes étapes de réalisation de ce projet ? Je commence par réunir tous les éléments qui composeront ma créa. La base est un grand trombone, 2 ronds de 5 cm de diamètre découpés dans du papier Mix Media 250gr. Il faut aussi tout le petit matériel que nous avons probablement tous dans notre scraproom!
I first coloured all my paper elements with the Bermuda Fresco Finish. This colour is great! I find it has a vintage vibe.
Je commence par colorer tous mes éléments papiers avec la peinture Fresco Finish "Bermuda". Cette couleur est top ! Je lui trouve un petit côté vintage.
While the paint was drying, I also coloured a piece of gauze and some string. I wet the string first to help the paint to sink in and hold better.
J'en profite pour teinter également ma gaze et le bout de ficelle, que j'humidifie préalablement, afin que la peinture prenne mieux.
I then selected and removed the parts of the Scrapcosy tissue paper I wanted to use in this project. Here I used a glue stick to add the tissue to the substrate but I could have done it directly with the wet Fresco paint, or even Matte Glaze. The trick is not let the paint dry before adding the tissue! With the glue stick method, I got a less transparent layer of tissue.
Ensuite je sélectionne et découpe les parties du papier de soie Scrapcosy qui m'intéressent pour ce projet. Pour coller mon papier de soie sur mon support, j'utilise un bâtonnet de colle classique, mais j'aurais tout aussi bien pu le coller directement à la peinture Fresco. Tant que celle-ci n'est pas sèche cela fonctionne très bien.
I added some grunge to my pieces with a touch of 'Just Walnut' Infusion. I dissolved it on my glass plate and splattered this 'ink' on my elements with a paintbrush. I also added some to to the borders. I think those two colours work fabulously together!
J'apporte un peu de "Grunge" à tout cela, avec une touche d'infusion "Just Walnut". Pour ce faire je prépare un "jus" sur ma plaque en verre et je fais quelques projections sur mes éléments à l'aide d'un pinceau. Je passe également sur tout le pourtour de mes pièces en papier. Je trouve que les 2 teintes se marient à merveille !
I then stamped the mini tag with the beautiful quote from the new Tracy Scott mini TSM24. A little stitching to finish up and my base is done. I love the result!
Je tamponne ensuite mon mini tag avec la belle citation du nouveau mini de Tracy Scott TSM 24. Un peu de couture pour compléter le tout et voilà ma base est terminée! J'adore le résultat obtenu!
It is now time to stamp of our girlie's pretty face! She is so cute!
Je poursuis en tamponnant maintenant le joli minois de cette pépette ! Elle est trop chou cette petite dernière de Tracy Scott.
Colouring stamps is something I particularly like doing, though I would not consider myself an expert. Here I chose to work with my favourite coloured pencils to shade the face.
La mise en couleur de mon tamponnage est une chose que j'aime particulièrement faire, même si je ne suis pas experte en la matière. Ici je choisis d'utiliser mes crayons de couleur fétiches !
To go with the 'Glazed' theme, I added some shine. Glitter and Glossy are here to play! Then it is time to assemble. A bit of double side tape, glue and improvisation and here we are!
Pour coller au thème de ce début d'année, "Glazed", j'ajoute du brillant ! paillettes et glossy sont de sortie. Puis il est temps de passer à l'assemblage. Un peu de double face, de colle et d'improvisation et le tour et joué !
Here is the final result! A fantastic embellishment to decorate my junk journal cover.
Et voilà le résultat final ! un superbe embellissement qui orne la couverture de mon Junk Journal.
I think the back is great too, showcasing Scrapcosy's birdie from the Printed Tissue.
Le dos n'est pas mal non plus je trouve, faisant la part belle à l'oiseau de Scrapcosy.
