I'm super excited to share with you my newest release for PaperArtsy, which consists of 3 stamps and coordinating stencils.
I'm super excited to share with you my newest release for PaperArtsy, which consists of 3 stamps and coordinating stencils.
For this release I have created a sunflower themed stamp set and stencil which are just perfect for these last few weeks of summer and then the focus jumps towards the end of the year with two Winter and Christmas themed stamp and stencil sets.

Eclectica³ Kay Carley Set 61 (EKC61)
EKC61 is my sunflower themed stamp set which consists of two tall sunflower stamps (complete with stems and leaves), two different sized sunflower heads, some tall skinny grasses and a quote.
The quote has been designed so that it is also great to use for 'background words'.
The individual sunflower heads are fab to use for backgrounds plus you can use them to have a whole field of sunflowers by stamping the heads multiple times and adding hand drawn stems.
Eclectica³ Kay Carley Set 62 (EKC62)
EKC62 contains a cute snowman, two sizes of skinny fir trees, some twigs, a snowflake stamp and a handy quote.
The trees have been sized to work well with each other to help create depth to your projects. They look great when used on their own or in conjunction with the snowman.
A very simple composition showing how these two sizes of trees work so well with each other.
The snowflake stamp is just perfect to create simple wintery backdrops for the trees.
You can see that to colour the trees I simply add paint strokes of several different shades of greens to give the trees texture and interest.
Another very simple composition showing how the bigger tree can be used on its own to provide the main focal point to your Christmas projects.
Delicate background imagery was provided for the tall single tree using the twig stamp.
This sample shows how the different stamps contained in this set work so well with each other. In fact all of the stamps contained on this set were used to create this sample.
Eclectica³ Kay Carley Set 63 (EKC63)
EKC63 consists of three different sizes of snow topped houses, two different sizes of Scandinavian style trees, a themed quote and a very handy ‘background snowflake’ stamp.
Three different sized square cards show how versatile this stamp set can be when making your Christmas cards.
This card measures 6"x 6" and uses the bigger house and tree.
To paint the house I use my preferred method of stamping it within a stamping platform and leaving everything in-situ, whilst I add colour using PaperArtsy's Fresco Finish paints then lastly re-stamping to refresh the detail afterwards.
The size of this card is 5" x 5" and contains the middle size house and the smaller tree.
And this card is 4" x 4" with only the small house stamped as a 'main feature'.
Delicate background imagery was stamped (with paint) using the tops of the tree stamps along with the quote.

PaperArtsy Stencil 341 (PS341)
This stencil consists of a trio of stemmed sunflowers, three different sized flower heads and a background element.
The 'trio of stemmed sunflowers' look great when lightly stencilled behind stamped sunflowers.
Simply re-position the stencil to create 'background sunflowers' across your whole project.
The card sample (below) uses the large sunflower head to create interest in two opposite corners.
The stencilling was kept very soft so as not to overshadow the stamped sunflower.
This sample shows how the background element and the sunflower trio can work together to provide a stencilled card with interest. At first glance you may think the trio of sunflowers are 'raised' but they are completely flat.
PaperArtsy Stencil 342 (PS342)
This stencil has been designed to resemble the trees contained on EKC62. (Please be aware that the trees on the stencil have NOT been designed to add colour to the tree stamps contained on EKC62.)
This sample shows how the stencil can be used on its own to create a tree filled wintery scene.
Whereas the sample below shows how the stencil has been used to create wintery white trees as a ''backdrop to the main stamped images.
PaperArtsy Stencil 343 (PS343)
The trees contained on this stencil have been designed to complement the trees contained on corresponding stamp set EKC63.
You can see from these samples that the stencilled trees match the 'style' of the stamped trees making this stencil the perfect accompaniment for EKC63.
Soft white stencilled trees combined with detailed stamped trees creates a perfect wintery backdrop for the houses.
The soft stencilling of the snowflakes and trees creates the perfect wintery background.
Project: Dimensional Christmas Card
For this project I have chosen to create a dimensional style of Christmas card. Even though the centre panel stands proud of the left and right panels it will still fold flat to go into an envelope.
1. Begin by painting a landscape panel with your chosen colour of Fresco Finish paint.
2. Sponge Snowflake Fresco Finish paint all the way across the base of your panel and add Snowflake paint splatters.
3. Stencil snowflakes and trees using PS343 and PS242 with Snowflake Fresco Finish paint.
4. Decide how wide you want each section of the card to be and score lines accordingly.
5. Using a stamping platform, stamp the houses from EKC63 in Jet Black archival, colour them using your chosen Fresco Finish paints then re-stamp to bring back the detail of the stamped images.
6. Stamp and emboss the twigs from EKC62 across the base of the panel using an embossing pad and white detail embossing powder.
7. Stamp the words onto white cardstock using Jet Black archival, cut out, adhere to the panel and edge them with black pen.
8. Fold the panel along the score lines. Adhere to a same size card blank.
