How often, when we experiment with a new product, or play about with a new stencil, do we create something that just doesn't really need anything more except perhaps, a thought provoking phrase? Well, it seems to me that Alison's stamps are just the right answer. Be it a background in a journal, texture on a canvas, or perhaps a card for someone special. 

It looks like Nikki has her infusions and stencils out, with Alsion's words giving that perfect finishing touch. Enjoy!

Hi everyone, Nikki from Addicted to Art here to share some designs using Alison's wonderful new stamps.

Since I started crafting I have been an admirer of, not only Alison's art, but also her eloquent and inspiring writing. This talent she has is expressed in the beautiful and meaningful quotes she has chosen for her first PaperArtsy stamp sets. 

I found the uplifting words immediately generated imagery in my mind - not necessarily an interpretation of the quotes but of a feeling it evoked.

One of those ideas was images of Monet's Waterlily paintings. I aimed to create a setting for my quote that was a little ethereal; something happy and peaceful for the uplifting words.  

To do this I used Grunge Paste, Fresco Acrylics with matt glaze (to allow blending and increase transparency) and Infusions. The quote from EAB02 - Darkness and Light - was heat embossed so it shines against the chalky background.

Having created my first sample I had to do it again but this time added a quote from EAB01 - Trees and Flowers. You can see how beautifully these stamp!

What I haven't done yet is cut the quotes up and use them like chit chat stickers. This is certainly something I will be doing, allowing me to position the words around a project.

I really am inspired by these stamps! I love that they evoke feelings which, for me, is important in my art.
