NEW PA PRODUCTS {Eclectica³ by Seth Apter}

Hi Everyone, Leandra here thrilled to tell you we have collaborated with Seth Apter and he has created for us some awesome new stamps and a Limited Edition Paint set! How cool is that!

I know many of our regular followers are huge admirers of Seth, so I'm sure you will be as thrilled as I to see what he has created under the PaperArtsy brand. Seth is renowned for his layers, be it paint, texture, stencilling or stamping. Exactly what PaperArtsy peeps love!

You may already be aware that Seth designs for Spellbinders, Stencil Girl Products and Impression Obsession. Seth takes great care to ensure all the lines he designs coordinate with the rest in ways that might not seem obvious at first, so this collaborative approach allows all the stamps, dies, embossing folders, paints and stencils to work seamlessly. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that!

So lets take a closer look at the actual stamps...

The paints are almost ready...for now all I can share is this much!! Yes the eagle eyed among you will see we have sneakily nabbed Jo's 'Buff' from a previous Limited Edition set, and brought it back, which I know will likely please many of you (no-one more so than Jo herself)! But Seth and I agreed it fitted perfectly with the other 3 shades.

I cannot tell you any more until the paints actually arrive here at HQ from the Magic Paint Lady herself! Once they are here, then yes you will be able to get your mitts on them from your preferred PA stockists (see list at the foot of this post).

If you have been following Seth on social media trails lately, you will know he is not long back from a month of teaching in Australia, and he is travelling again the next 2 weekends in the USA, so I have covered his release today with some offerings until the Maestro himself is able to join us, and that won't be long at all....... because.......

...We are hosting Seth at an event here in Brentwood, Essex on Saturday September 3rd for consumers and on Sunday September 4th for Retailers.

There are only limited spaces left at both events, to book the Saturday go here, to book the retailer training, you will need to call Leandra on 0044 (0)1277 212911 unless you are an existing stockist and you will see the link on our Wholesale website.

The classes are totally NEW and naturally feature Seth's newest releases of just last week from ALL his partners: Spellbinders, Impression Obsession, Stencil Girl Products, and {eeeek} PaperArtsy.

~ Leandra

So, shock , horror, it is me, Leandra here {actually blogging for realsies} to show you an idea of layering, colour mixing and stamping with Seth's newest stamps designed for PaperArtsy.

I am addicted to circles (and squares...but circles are my fave) so I am soooo thrilled that Seth has created many circular options with this release. But when I used the stamps, I was even more thrilled to discover that the circles work with Seth's dies perfectly! I do love how this feature allows you to add depth to the dies with framing layers below them! let me explain....

Dream, Wish, Fly {by Leandra Franich}

I started with the newish Tim Holtz frames which are a masonite wood support with a textured wooden border. What many people don't realise about this frame is the actual border is separate, so you create on the flat surface, then slap the frame on top which makes it super user-friendly! It's a nice size too, not too big, not too small.

Step 1: Background
For quite a number of years now I have been brayering Fresco backgrounds, you can see how I do that on my YouTube Series of videos, part One, part Two and part Three. It't a fast way to layer colour down. And this 'Masterboards' video is all 3 combined.

You add detail as you go with stamped and/or stencilled layers. Below you can see the spots from ESA02 along with the large diamond texture stamps. The stars are from Set ESA01. I used various shades of blue and green Fresco Chalk paints (always a fave combo of mine).

Step 2: Feature
While I was painting, I figured and ochre-orange would make a nice contrast to the blue, so I brayered some dies cuts in the contrast as I worked on the background.

Step 3: Embellishing
TO make the layers 'pop' I added some white stamping, the large white circles behind the splatter-proof die surrounding 'FLY' (Take Flight die) are from ESA01. The circles inside the coffee ring die are from the same set. The rectangle are from Robo Bar die set.

The square (ESA01) was stamped in chalk paint first, then Sunflower Archival ink on top.

{I wasn't supposed to but.....I also built some more detailed stamped layers by using another new stamp release coming up later this month...{ohhhhhh} so the leaves, super-fine script and stencil-style words are from that set that you haven't actually seen...you have just imagined it.....OK!!!! But I'm sure you'll agree they fit rather well! DON'T ask me any questions, I am schtummmmmm - either that or dead!}

Close Ups:
See how the white stamping fits the splatter-proof die. OK, so I stamped it 3 times, mainly cos I put it in the wrong place, so I had to cover my error! But it still draws the eye - well that's my excuse!

The Robo Bar die in 2 sizes layer nicely over the square stamp from ESA01. And that 'DREAM' word from the plate-that-you-imagined fitted perfectly! in a totally imaginary way!

Here you kind of get a sense of the layers really making the background so interesting, I think I could just make backgrounds for a living, they are so fun to build up!

Drip Drop Life {by Lauren Hatwell}

Lauren has stamped the lovely slightly Japanese-style square in the background from ESA02, added the Drip-drop die with the splatter-proof die tucked inside it. Lovely stitching around the edge.

In the close up you can see the crackle-accents on the die embellishments. Loving the stamped tape.

Time After Time {by Lauren Hatwell}

Infusions feature here, on the edge of the Pocket Watch die look closely and you will see a petwer infusions paint that Lauren customer mixed. The face is a Hot Pick. In the matted Background you can just see Seth's diamond background stamp from ESA02

Again, Crackle accents adds texture to the face beautifully.

Jofy-Seth mash Up {by Lauren Hatwell}

Lauren shows on the periscope filmed this afternoon how to make this lovely watery background using Distress Inks and Seth's bubble stamp from ESA01.

Great technique, stamp the bubbles in Broken China and Shabby Shutters onto watercolour card (Hot Pressed) Spritz, dribble, blot, dry! (blue green card). The orange is similar with frescos onto damp card.

She also made a painted background with Frescos, and the diamond texture stamp, and the lovely spots from ESA02, then over-stamped with the new JoFy bloom from JoFY45.

No doubt you will see more from Seth on the PA blog once he comes up for air! But for now, here is a periscope I filmed with Lauren earlier today with his new stamps!

Here's the sample from the Periscope...
