Art Journal Page {with Eclectica³ Sara Naumann Stamps by Alison Hall}

Hello crafty people! It’s Alison (Craftytrog) here tonight. I’ve got a drippy, splatty art journal page to share with you. I’ve used some of Sara Naumann’s fabulous new stamps , which are perfect for art journaling.

On a piece of Heavy Weight Smoothy Card, I started off by gluing down some torn pieces of book paper and painty scraps, using Multi Medium Matte. Then I used the Mini Ledger Stencil and Grunge Paste to add some texture. I then brayered Snowflake Fresco Paint over the top, to bring everything together.

Next, I used Versafine Onyx Black Ink to stamp some background images from ESN09 and ESN11. I found that the grungy image from ESN09 was perfect to use on the edges, as a frame. I inked the edges of my page with black, then heat set the Versafine Ink, to stop it from smudging.

ESN09

Now comes my favourite part! In a couple of small spray bottles, I added some Bora Bora and  some Orchid Fresco Paint to half a bottle of water. I mixed them both thoroughly, then unscrewed the lids and flicked my page with colour. I dried one colour before adding the second, so that they didn’t mix. Then I added some painty drips.

I painted a piece of Smoothy Card with Bora Bora Fresco Paint, dried it, then used Snowflake paint to stamp the dots from ESN09 repeatedly. I stamped the hearts from ESN11 and the phrase from ESN09, and cut them out.

ESN11
I edged the phrase with Jet Black Archival Ink, and glued it onto my page, using Glossy Accents . I stamped the hearts on the top right of my page, then glued the cut out hearts over the top. I then finished off with some more splatters of watered down Orchid paint over the hearts and words.

Here’s a closer look at the texture and background. It had been my intention to leave more white space, but that never seems to work out for me! Lol!

I hope I’ve inspired you to get your art journals out for a play.
Thanks to the PaperArtsy Peeps for inviting me to guest design for my favourite stamp company!
