France Papillon #3 Potions Holder ....

     I applied a layer of Grunge Paste on a 10 x 10 canvas using a palette knife.

   Then I spread it around using a brayer, which creates a fun texture.

3 Using a piece of Cut N Dry, I applied 4 different shades of Green Fresco's: Guacamole, Hey Pesto, Toad Hall and Holly.

4Once this was dry, I added some Melted Chocolate Dylusions Ink on the edges with a dry brush, to create a border.

5 I tied 3 pieces of metal together and finger painted little accents of Beach Hut Fresco and Pumpkin Soup Fresco to create a Vert de Gris patina.

6 I cut the pieces I needed to make a rack out of 2 mm cardboard.

7I glued those together with Tacky Glue. It wasn’t very steady (yet), but it will be once it would be glued to the canvas.

8 I colourized it with two layers of Holly Fresco, roughly applied with a paint brush…

   Followed by a layer of Crackle Glaze applied with a palette knife. I left it aside to dry.

   I added a thin layer of GuacamoleFresco Paint with a piece of Cut N Dry… and watched the magic happen! (Luuuurve to watch the crackles appear!)

1 Using a sanding grip, I distressed it, then added Vintage Photo Distress Ink and finished it off by taking the excess ink off with a baby wipe. Then I could finally (finally!!) glue the rack to the canvas. Et voilà!

For the vial labels, I stamped little words from the MN62 stamp with Black Archival Ink on scraps of Smoothy White Stamping Card. I added Vintage Photo Distress Ink and dabbed it with a baby wipe to blend it in.

The wood label plate received a first layer of Grunge Paste applied with a palette knife, then a layer of Holly Fresco Paint. I did the same for the rack: a thin layer of Crackle Glaze applied with a palette knife, a bit of Guacamole Fresco Paint applied with a Cut N Dry, distressing with a sanding grip and finally a bit of Vintage photo Distress Ink. To add even more texture, I stamped the MN30 on the wood with Coffee Archival Ink.

 For the background of the wood label I stamped the "text" stamp from the Backgrounds 2 set with Coffee Archival Ink on a scrap piece of Smoothy White Stamping Card and added Vintage Photo Distress Ink.

To create a Vert de Gris Patina look on the lock, I applied a tiny bit of Beach Hut Fresco Paint with my finger and once dry, added a tiny bit of Pumpkin Soup in the same way. I made a mini tiny heart (it’s 3,5 mm large!) out of cold china paste and left it aside to dry. I then colorized it with Claret and Blood Orange Fresco Paint, then added a bit of Crackle Glaze to make it shiny.

To make sure the wood label and the metal underneath it would stay in place, I stacked two layers of 3D foam. Once glued, I painted the 3D foam with Holly Fresco Paint so that it would blend in.

I filled the vials with… whatever I had at hand: the first one is some rusted metal, the second a mix of China Ink and Matt Accents with some pearls, the third a feather and the last one a mix of gold acrylic paint and Tarnished Brass Distress Paint.

If you don’t have any vials, you could do the same with fake mini books or fake rolls of parchment or pen nibs or keys or… ! I’m off… to make one of each of these!
