Linda Cain #3 Linda Marie Shrine ....

"I've had this picture of myself reproduced a few times, but never really added it to anything for my desk. I thought it would be the perfect size for this project". 

The shrine comes in pieces of Masonite. Although this is technically called a shrine, it is by no means that to me, it’s just a little framed piece. PaperArtsy Fresco Paints are perfect on wood, metal, paper, and so many other surfaces. This is just one example of that. 

When you lay out the pieces, you'll see you have 6 layers. I'm going to paint 4 of them. Fresco Paints are so gorgeous with Mixed Media projects. I've decided to alternate two color combinations of pink/red and brown/gold. I started with base coating the two layers shown here with VintageLace. 

 Edge the two pieces by adding some Very Berry and Claret as shadow to the edges.

Next I laid down the stencil in various spots to add the Eggplant. All this is done with Cut n Dry Foam squares. The foam gives perfect control of the paint with stencils. 

Then I added the Script stamp from the Ink and the Dog Collection 08 with Black Archival Ink. Stamping on these paints is like nothing you’ll ever find anywhere. 

 This is a shot I took after it was assembled - see the script inside on the Claret and Very Berry section.

The other two layers were base coated with Irish Cream, and then I added Chocolate Pudding and Old Gold.

 I liked the touch of Claret that I somehow got on the brown here, so I added more. Happy accidents do happen!

The Mini 58 and Coffee Archival Ink are used to stamp around the two brown layers, but they still needed something, so I added the Mini74 with Black Ink and that worked for me.

I took a starburst charm and trimmed the charm loop off the top. You can sand it down a bit and add some black sharpie ink to make it blend in better.

I typed my name "Linda Marie" onto white cardstock and printed it out on my printer. I'm not going to tell you it's easy to trim an oval, but I finally got it after three tries. 

There are punches I'm told that will work well for this.....don't have one though.

I glued my name into the oval and added Glossy Accents to set up overnight.....hmmmmm....I don't wait well, but this is a must. 

In the meantime I found two little starbursts and painted them with a Gold Paint Dabber since I wanted them a bit brighter. Then you can glue the piece together.

The Word Band had Little Black Dress paint added to the engraving and wiped off when nearly dry. Polish it with a soft cloth. 

Last thing you can add the charm to the top. 

I haven't changed a whole lot...still built sturdy and wearing comfortable shoes!!!!

Leandra Says: Love the way you stamp script over the top of your finished paint. It really is a nice effect, and the archival inks stamp up well on top of Fresco Paints. These masonite kits are the BOMB! Love them!
