Helen Chilton #4 .... Add A Bit Of Bling

My last post .... really, wow where did the months go!

For this one I've done something really mad as a little extra and used up the scrap paper I was stamping this week's projects on.

I mean, look at that, I just couldn't leave it sitting there!

I always stamp with a wodge of my Dad's old computer paper underneath the card and I often look at it at the end of a project and stuff it in a drawer to be used later. Well this time I decided to actually do something with it. 

It would have leant itself well to an art journal page but, shock, horror, I don't have one so I've made it up as a separate piece of art.

First I tore it out round the splodges.

 

Then I started working out my stamping - it's going to be a mixture of all the plates I've used this week.

You can always work out your collage by stamping the images on scrap and cutting them out and putting them on your background, but I couldn't be bothered so just laid some stamps down instead.

I painted some Snowflake white where the large stamp was going to go.

And then stamped in black.

Add arches and stamp inside the arches using masks as before. Watercolour in a bit of extra colour.

The top arch looked slightly bigger than the lower arch (an optical illusion?) and therefore top heavy which annoyed me, so I add the line of text to show the sides were straight.

 

Then get out the black pen and doodle to your heart's content.

After much cogitation, rumination and goodness knows what else, I layered it up onto

pink card.

However I couldn't leave it plain - (this is definitely a case of can your eye stand it!) so I stamped in Little Black Dress and Snowflake.

Added a bit of bling.

 

 

 

And some eyeletted buttons

 

Layer up on black and there you have it.

A lot for the eye to take in, I know, but great fun to make!

Also many thanks for all the lovely comments - I hope you've been tempted to join in along the way. I'm a great believer in 'having a go' - things don't always turn out as you expect but that's half the fun. There's always a way to get round a problem or recover from a so called disaster as you can see from my posts - often the mistakes turn into your best pieces of art!
