2019 #9 Arty Wood Blocks: Arty Wood Home Decor with ESC {by Josefine}

2019 Topic 9: Arty Wood Blocks

Our Arty Blocks theme takes a different turn tonight with something wooden nonetheless; a beautifully shaped wooden substrate, stencilled and bedecked with Fresco Finish paints.

Hi everyone, it's Josefine and I'm super excited to be back with a new project for PaperArtsy. The wood topic got me all excited, because I love working on wood. In fact, wood canvases are my favourite. Mediums behave differently and give you different effects than on paper, which is a lot of fun when experimenting with it.

I had this wood panel sitting at home for a while and it was just waiting for a mixed media treatment - or a Fresco Finish treatment in this case. I recorded the entire process, so it's easy to follow.

For this project I used the Scrapcosy stamp ESC18 and the stencil PS134,

as well as the Fresco Finish paints Space Cadet, Slate, Snowflake, Mermaid, Honey Dew and China for the background and Guacamole, Lemon Meringue and Peach Nectar for the flower.

As you see, this wood home decor piece came together beautifully. I like the simplicity of it and the pop of colour that the flower brings. Such gorgeous images just need to be highlighted. Now it's up to you to grab some wood, no matter if it's a small block or a large canvas, and try it out for yourself. Don't forget to share your work with us.

Thanks so much for stopping by and until next time.
