Bryan, our resident geezer, is back for another of his wondrous compositions. There is often an earthy, natural vibe to his work, and this time he explores the seasons as reflected by his surroundings and infusions!
Hi everyone, Bryan here from Geezer Crafter.
Lovely to be here on the PA blog tonight. I've chosen to share with you my 3D/ Assemblage project incorporating some of Linda Brown's new stamps.
The inspiration came from a view from our house, a row of trees on top of some rolling fields. I always admire this view at any time of the year, so I wanted to try and capture all of the seasons in one creation.
I love using watercolour card with Infusions. A baby wipe and Infusions in Slime worked really well (left), and just look at all of the colours in Infusions in Rusty Car (right).
After watching Lin Brown via Periscope at Ally Pally, I used Infusions in Rocky Road sprinkled over Versamark. I think I over did it with the water, so I used my finger to smudge it about. Clear embossing with Infusions In The Navy gave a sense of frosty days!!
First time for me with PaperArtsy Grunge Paste, lovely smooth texture, just right for pushing some stamps into.
I used the hinge stamp to create some flappage... The 'round' stamps in the collection remind me of large discs of sunflowers, zinnias and dahlias!!
Winter, lots of texture and drama.. a little 'found' decorative hinge adds a full stop.
Our neighbour cut down a dead cherry tree, so I found some branches that were left behind, a little whittling to add some further interest.
My favourite part is the flaggage, a small piece of plastic packaging behind the hinge stamp acting as a pivot, interactive art??
I am looking forward to seeing your 3D/ Assemblage creations. You may be able incorporate something interactive and hidden. The grunge paste worked really well on the wood, next time I will try and use 2 colours. Baby wipes and Infusions are a great mix, will be trying that again.

The interactive element is a fun addition to piece, and I love how you worked the grunge paste in different ways to highlight textures natural and created! Fantastic creation Bryan! ~Leandra

Bryan, I'm sorry I'm so late in commenting: it's been one of those weeks. I just wanted to say I think this is a brilliant creation. It's original and so wonderfully 3D. I also love that it is evocative of a real view and explores the movement of the seasons. Great project on the theme.
I'm even later than Julie Ann but better late than never. I love this piece of assemblage Bryan and the 'flappage' (wonderful word) is a great idea. I love the way you used Lin's stamps in such original ways. Wonderful project for the theme.
Bryan, such a cool piece! I so love the organic-ness of it and how you married the colors of the the products with your found parts! Well done!
