"I am happy to be back this month
sharing a variety of projects. I started
my projects with one of my favorite messy techniques of playing with shaving
cream".
I was
playing with shaving cream and wanted to try mixing it into some Fresco Paints to create a lovely mix of colors and a soft muted palette. I squirted a little bit of shaving cream on
my craft mat, then I dripped in Ice Blue, Limelight, and ChocolatePudding.
The next
step is to smear it anyway to give it swirls of color. Then place the paper onto the shaving cream
with paint. Pull it up and shave off the
excess shaving cream. Repeat with additional pieces of paper.
Here are
a few of the different backgrounds created from the mix of paints:
I picked
out the handsome car from the Hot Pick 1207
to stamp over the background using Ranger Archival Jet Black Ink. I cut my card to fit the image. Next, I extended the image a little bit off to the
right to fit the size of the card by coloring in a few more trees with a black
marker. I also use this for touch up if
I don’t stamp evenly or forget to ink an area.

Stamp
over the background the map from HotPick XTRA01 repeatedly and unevenly using Ranger Archival Black Ink. I distressed the edges using
a distressing tool, then dragged the ink
pad around the edges to add the black edging.

I added a
touch of color to the scene using watercolor pencils and waterbrush.
I die cut
the clock frame and sponged with brown dye ink. I then laid it over the car and
cut out the pieces that covered the car and scene.
I then
finished off the card by mounting on a black card and added some metal elements
with clock hands, brads and the Philosophy charm.
Tomorrow,
join me when I will create a fun gift container!

Leandra Says:Wow! I had completely forgotten about this technique, brilliant idea, and fantastic way to add colour (and aroma?? LOL) to your cards! The map in the BG is an awedsome addition to the format of this stamp. Thankyou!
Gillian Says: A technique that always delivers brilliant results, love the composition to this card Suzz.

I've seen people using shaving foam quite a bit recently, but until then had forgotten about it. However, I have to say that your card, Suzz is just perfect. I love the background and all the stamped elements.
Same here, I'd forgotten about this technique too and now I do remember it, it's very messy - love it!!!
Will certainly have to give this one a go!!
Thanks Suzz for the reminder!!!

now there's a technique I haven't played with for a while. lovely Sue. I do like the way you have the car coming out of the clock face - great perspective.
Oh, I do love this! I have shaving cream in a (craft) drawer somewhere...

Love how you cut the clock frame to fit the stamped image. It is a beautiful card, the soft colours with a strong focal image work well together.

Fabulous! I'd forgotten about the shaving cream technique.
Very cool card, I love that image & the paint & shaving foam made a great background.
Oooh this looks fun and messy! I love anything that involves Frescos (who knew?!). Can I shave my legs at the same time? Great project!
