Last Weekly Challenge Winners of Semester 1 and a Summary

Hi everyone Darcy here. Last week Pam Thorburn ended her semester with us, I think you will agree her posts have been a wonderful introduction to scrapbooking for the rest of us. This past week was no exception, with 2 great layouts and a stunning mini book.

Sam showed us a neat way to use resist canvas and Jo introduced us to book binding with her fantastically aged travel journal. Finally we saw the welcome return of Lin Brown with a stunning piece featuring her stamps and stencils. We rounded off the week with a new journal page challenge from me, I hope to see you join in over the next month.

Thanks to everyone who joined in the weekly challenge and made projects last week. We, and the designers truly love seeing your creations.  And thank you also for all the comments left on blog posts. It means a lot to us all that you take the time to leave comments.

2. Thank you to all semester one designers and guests

Hi everyone, Leandra here just taking the opportunity to say a big thank you to all who have contributed to generate such a magnificent start to 2014.

As Semester 1 draws to a close, this is a great opportunity to take a look back and reflect on the wide variety of creations our Guests have brought us. Not only have we had featured in depth each week for the last 4 months the unique talents of Clare Lloyd, Julie Ann Lee, Ellen Vargo and Pam Thorburn, but we have in addition brought you many one off posts from our own PaperArtsy Stamp Designers, 2013 Blog Guests, and even the odd random extra person wherever we could possibly squeeze them in for surprise treats.

Lets not forget the inimitable Gillian and Darcy who have done an astonishing job as blog admin gurus keeping things slick and sweet behind the scenes. You guys rock!

Semester 1 has been crazy busy here at PA HQ, but there is nothing quite like a cuppa at the end of the day and settling in to ready the blog, it's been totally brilliant. Thank you everyone!

So let's take a look back at just a few of the projects that have been featured in the last 4 months from some of these wonderfully artistic hands and minds.

First up this adorable dolly canvas from Liz Borer, see how she made it HERE

Next, a hearty canvas from Alison Bomber featuring fabulous texture. See it HERE.

Remember how Clare Lloyd transformed a pencil case into a frame? See it HERE.

From Darcy we had a travelling water pot, featuring her new stamps. Ideal for craft rooms and crops. See it HERE.

Deb Wainwright made this gorgeous wreath, see how she created those delicate flowers HERE.

Ellen Vargo joined us as our newest PaperArtsy Stamp Designer and wowed us all with her totally unique stamps, techniques and zingy use of colour. See these cards HERE.

Helen Chilton remembered that our menfolk like gifts too, see how she made this coaster HERE.

You all loved Jo Myhill's rusty pot of tulips, see how she made it HERE.

How many of you made a 'PAGG' critter? See how Jo Firth Young made her little friend HERE.

Julie Ann Lee creates the most lovely and theatrical pieces, see not just the outside but the stunning inside of this box HERE.

Lucy Edmondson introduced a fantastic clay technique for decorating this bottle. See it HERE.

I had never seen a Trading Block before, had you? See how Linda Cain created this one HERE.

Pam Thorburn gave us many inspirational pages, we loved the use of washi tape on this one. Check it out HERE.

Finally we all need storage right? See how Sue Carrington made this stamp binder HERE.

3. Coming up this week...

It's here! #3UP!! Such a great way to finish a semester with a bang!

Tonight a whole week of #3UP commences.

As you know, we like to mix it up a little each time, and this semester is no different. Each night we get 3 people UP on the blog to share their style of crafting. Anyone can play #3UP. Usually 4-6 weeks ahead we advertise on twitter, facebook and the blog asking for volunteers.

This time we allocated a theme to each evening, and names were drawn out of the hat. Those people chose the stamps they wanted to work with, and submitted their projects a couple of weeks ago. I have been busy editing it all and loading the content online. I'm so excited for this, its really great to see what you, our blog followers do in your spare time up close and personal!

So top up your drink, and settle in for the first post which kicks off shortly at 7:15pm London time.

If you would like to play along with our #3UP contributors this week, then feel free to link up and go in the draw to win a surprise prize at the end of the week. As it's the end of the semester, the prize will be a special goody bag with a variety of items to the value of £50. ALL NEW STASH! Link below during the week. Entries close 5pm Sunday May 4th

An InLinkz Link-up

3UP Play-along Guidelines:

  • Each linked entry generates you a ticket in the draw to win. Maximum number of entries per person is 3.
  • Your entry must be a new creation made this week
  • You must explain which person's 3UP entry inspired you to play along.

Good luck, winners will be announced on Sunday May 4th, 2014 at 7pm (London Time).
